Raayani's descent from the ethereal dragon was nothing short of srising. Her figure, clad in flowing robes of blue and silver that shimred like starlight, contrasted sharply with the chaos below.

She had co as quickly as possible when she got the ssage from her daughter.

The serpent ice dragon lowered its enormous body with grace, its wings folding in like great veils of light, and Raayani leaped down with an agility that belied her elegance. The ground barely registered her landing, yet her presence alone seed to cause the air to ripple with latent power.

Her expression shifted instantly as she took in the scene before her.

The chaos of the canyon was unmistakable. As she saw Nynthralls, her expression changed instantly. What were they doing in the middle of the desert in human lands?

Nynthralls surrounded the area, their dark auras mingling with the oppressive atmosphere.

In the background, strange creatures—otherworldly and grotesque—were bound within shimring magic seals. Daurgien, still resisting his bindings, emitted a maelstrom of energy as dark magic and his own power clashed violently.

Raayani's gaze swept over the battlefield with razor-sharp precision, taking in every detail in re monts. Her expression betrayed no fear but carried a sharp astonishnt at the sheer audacity of the Nynthralls. It had been a long ti since she had seen any of them in the human lands.

However, her keen eyes faltered for a mont when they landed on Jolthar.

Her brows knit together in confusion, quickly followed by an unmistakable flicker of annoyance. It was a look that spoke volus—she recognized him; it was clear she had not expected to see him here.

Jolthar, battered and bloodied but standing resolute, caught the glance.

For a fleeting mont, he felt the weight of her gaze like a tangible force, and despite his exhaustion, his grip tightened on his sword instinctively. Her presence wasn't just commanding—it was overwhelming, the kind of authority that left no room for defiance.

Raayani turned her attention away from Jolthar, her gaze softening as it landed on Belan.

Relief washed over her features, and she strode forward with the confidence of soone who knew she could end the conflict in an instant if she so chose. Reaching her daughter, she bent slightly, her tone laced with a mixture of concern and exasperation. Belan's complexion turned better seeing her mother.

"So, what's happening here?" She asked, her voice calm but carrying an undertone of command.

Lysandra, visibly shaken but quick to respond, began explaining the situation as fast as her lips could move. Her words tumbled out in a hurried briefing, detailing the attack, the creatures, the interference of the Nynthralls, and how they had been attempting to contain the situation.

anwhile, Yilar watched Raayani with a growing unease. His usually calm and confident deanour faltered slightly. Though he maintained an air of composure, the faint twitch of his fingers as he gestured to his n betrayed his nerves.

"Quickly," he hissed, motioning for the others to accelerate their efforts in containing the bound creatures. His n, sensing his urgency, moved with greater haste, their chants and spells weaving tighter nets of dark magic around the struggling beings.

Raayani's attention montarily flicked to Jolthar again as Lysandra continued her explanation. Her gaze lingered just long enough to make Jolthar feel like a specin under a magnifying glass. Whatever she thought of him, she kept it to herself, but her lips tightened slightly before she turned back to her daughter.

Yilar, however, was anything but relaxed. His gaze darted between Raayani and his n, calculating his options. He knew exactly who she was—Raayani, the Matriarch of the Blue Rose, a na that resonated with power and fear throughout the realm.

To most, she was a legend, a figure shrouded in strong reverence. She rarely made an appearance in the outside world. She was one of the strongest beings of the realm and stood shoulder to shoulder with the other clan's patriarch in power and influence.

In terms of power, he knew he was inferior to her, and her presence had already made his death evident. So he had been signalling his n to prepare for escape.

Even for soone like Yilar, her presence set his nerves alight. She wasn't just powerful—she was beyond tiers, a force of nature who operated on a level that dwarfed the might of any ordinary mage or warrior.

And now, here she was, in the middle of their operation, her icy calm exuding an unspoken promise of retribution should she deem it necessary.

The air grew heavier as Daurgien's resistance reached a fever pitch. The dark magic binding him crackled and writhed, colliding violently with his own power. The maelstrom of energy churned around him, creating an almost unbearable pressure.

Raayani's gaze shifted briefly toward Daurgien, her eyes narrowing slightly. She didn't intervene—not yet. It wasn't her style to act rashly, and she was clearly assessing the situation, weighing her options, and determining her next move.

Yilar stepped forward cautiously, his smile strained as he addressed her. "Matriarch Raayani," he began, his tone respectful but guarded. "This is… unexpected."

Raayani didn't so much as glance in his direction. Instead, she listened intently to Lysandra's final words before straightening, her expression unreadable.

"Unexpected?" she finally said, her voice cutting through the air like a blade. She turned her head slightly, just enough to acknowledge Yilar without granting him her full attention. "You dare co here and try to kidnap my daughter and call it unexpected?"

The subtle emphasis in her tone made Yilar's confidence waver further. He forced a smile, though his body tensed like a coiled spring.

"I wouldn't dare," he replied smoothly, though his words rang hollow even to his own ears. "We were just passing by—"

"Save your excuses," Raayani interrupted, her tone sharp enough to silence him mid-sentence.

"Your presence here is a stain upon this place. Not one of you will be leaving here alive."

Yilar said nothing, his mind racing as he tried to formulate a response. The oppressive aura around Raayani was suffocating, and even his considerable power felt insignificant in comparison.

The tension in the canyon reached its breaking point, the clashing energies of Daurgien's struggle and the Nynthralls' dark magic threatening to spill over into total chaos.

And in the centre of it all, Raayani stood like an unshakeable pillar, her presence alone commanding the battlefield.
