When Pei Jue ca in, Feng Yun had already bathed and was sitting in front of the dressing mirror. Her black hair hung gently down, her nightclothes half-undone; she tilted her head, glanced to the side, checking the marks on her neck in the mirror, her entire figure unbelievably soft.
"Why aren’t you sleeping yet?" he asked.
Without turning her head, Feng Yun replied, "I’m not feeling well."
Pei Jue tensed slightly, then slowly approached to see her reflection in the mirror.
"What’s wrong?"
Feng Yun flicked a glance at him, "You tell ?"
Pei Jue lowered his eyes, his gaze falling on the red marks below her neck, his eyes warming slightly, he then embraced her from the front, checked her forehead for fever, found none, and lowered his head to look into her eyes.
"What’s the discomfort? Should I call for Puyang Jiu to take a look?"
"No need..." Feng Yun hesitated, appearing sowhat distracted.
"I just feel a bit of palpitations and shortness of breath, nothing else. The dicine prescribed by Doctor Yao was quite good. Since leaving Andu, I haven’t seen Doctor Yao in a long ti; I fear it might be an old ailnt returning..."

Pei Jue looked at her deeply, his dark eyes profound with an obvious scrutiny, yet he refrained from asking more, picked up a change of clothes, and went to the bathroom without calling for Qian Sanniu to serve him. After washing up and returning, Feng Yun was still in front of the dressing mirror, her brows furrowed with worry.
He walked up to her, "Let’s sleep."
Feng Yun looked at him with a somber face, her body tense, her red lips pursed.
"General, I have a question to ask..."
Pei Jue said calmly, "If you want to go, just go, no need for my consent."
Feng Yun was taken aback, then she realized what he was referring to.
"Does the General think I’m talking about tomorrow’s banquet?"
Pei Jue turned his head to look at her, silent, but his face seed to ask, "Isn’t it?"
That expression made Feng Yun’s lips curl slightly, "I do want to go, but certainly not to see Xiao Cheng..."
She then wrapped her arms around his waist, looking up at him, "Isn’t it because I’m afraid the Empress Dowager Li would insist on keeping you?"
Pei Jue watched her pretend, suddenly bent down to lift her up, tilted her chin, and kissed her forcefully.
Feng Yun hadn’t finished speaking, sowhat unwilling, and lightly beat him.

He shook involuntarily twice before controlling himself, until she arched her neck and cried out senselessly again, calling him a bastard, and he pinned down her hands, fingers interlocking, giving himself to her with both desire and ferocity.

Feng Yun replied vaguely, hearing him panting, shaking uncontrollably.
