Feng Yun looked at him, curling her lips into a smile.
"Yes, I love power, and I love n with overwhelming power. The satisfaction and comfort they bring is unmatched... from body to soul, no one can replace it."
Chunyu Yan’s gaze darkened, locking onto her.
Mad.
She must be mad.
Only madness could drive her to utter such scandalous words in front of others.
"To get rid of , you are willing to destroy your own reputation?"
Feng Yun remained composed, her smile dazzling.
"The Crown Prince of Yunchuan is overthinking. Every word I said is true. Please do not flatter yourself and cause my husband to misunderstand."
Chunyu Yan felt a faint ache in his heart.
He was fortunate, at least, that the cold gleam of his mask hid his sha and humiliation.
No one would ever see the storm of emotions churning inside him...
From the mont he t her years ago, Feng Yun had always stood apart in his eyes, an extraordinary woman. All her "differences from others" were magnified as virtues, expanding again and again in his heart until she filled his entire being, leaving no room for anyone else.
For so many years, he had struggled to free himself.
At first, Chunyu Yan thought himself unfortunate.
He had even loathed her for the sha she brought him.
Later, he convinced himself...
It was a blessing.
Feng Shi Er had that allure—being swayed by her emotions was not necessarily a bad thing. Thinking of her brought sweetness, an occasional joke, discussions of business matters—it was all enough...
But she had to shatter it all.
To break all his illusions.
"Why?" He chuckled self-deprecatingly. "Why do you have to be so cruel? Is it to make give up?"
Feng Yun’s face remained emotionless, but her dark eyes carried an unreadable smile.
"Whether the Crown Prince gives up or not, it’s never mattered to ."
She paused montarily, lowering her gaze so as not to et Chunyu Yan’s sowhat wounded eyes.
"I simply no longer wish to have my peace disturbed. The Crown Prince is of the utmost nobility; you should conduct yourself accordingly."
"Feng Shi Er!"
Chunyu Yan stood abruptly; the reflection on his cold mask made his presence even more severe.
His richly adorned garnts swayed lightly in the breeze, carrying an air of desolation.
"You truly detest this much, unwilling to tolerate ? Even when you know I..."
He paused, scanning the people nearby, biting his teeth in frustration but ultimately not daring to reveal the shaful secret aloud.
"I never expected that you would push to this point, unwilling to grant even the faintest glimr of light..."
His eyes grew misty, overwheld with defeat and loss.
"Not even the faintest glimr of light."
He repeated the phrase again.
Feng Yun simply sat upright, her beauty radiant yet entirely unchanged.
It was as though she were quietly observing a clown’s performance, unmoved by his pain and grief.
The suffocating sense of despair intensified even further.
Chunyu Yan drew a deep breath, the pride roaring in his chest swelling up, refusing to let him show even the slightest softness to this woman.
Silently, he cast Feng Yun a glance, coldly pointing at the stack of ledgers, deliberately avoiding her gaze.
"Quding, stay back and settle accounts with the Lady. Rember, her status today is not what it used to be. Be thorough in the reckoning; from now on... there will be no more cooperation."
With that, he left.
His steps were hurried and brisk.
As if lingering even a mont longer would allow sothing to pull him back...
Feng Yun said not a single word.
Her gaze followed his tall figure, only returning her eyes when his silhouette disappeared from her sight. She then turned to Quding with a faint smile.
"Mr. Qu, thank you for the trouble."
Quding felt a mix of awkwardness and deep emotion, sighing heavily as he nodded and bowed to Feng Yun.
"Yes."

Chunyu Yan departed Huaxi that very night.
His exit was resolute; the sprawling Yun Village was left with only a butler and a handful of caretaking servants. Everyone else was taken away, as if they had never arrived.
He had quarreled with Feng Yun many tis before; his anger was no rare sight.
But this ti, it was true...
The people of Huaxi discovered much later that the once-enigmatic Yun Village, day by day, beca closed and uninviting. It no longer welcod guests, as if it had turned into a ghost manor.
That peculiar Crown Prince of Yunchuan, along with his boastful servants and subordinates, seed to vanish overnight from Huaxi.
The conversations in the town about him lasted for several days.
But as Huaxi continued to expand, with more and more arrivals and fresh happenings every day, people soon stopped ntioning him. It was as though the Crown Prince of Yunchuan had been entirely forgotten. Occasionally, soone passing by Yun Village would make a gesture and whisper mysteriously...
"This estate belongs to the people of Yunchuan."
