"Finally the exam is over!" Amon yelled outside the exam hall.
Standing in the hallway filled with first-year students, Amon threw his hands above in the air.
Students looked at him warily, as if he was so kind of weird creature.
"Hehehe~ Finally it ended." This whole week of exams was too much for his brain. Now Amon could let his brain rest.Using it for weeks constantly was a lot more tiring than training.
"Hey, idiot. Don’t yell like that in the hallway," Eliana said from behind him. There was a cheerful smile on her face, watching Amon act like this.
Seraphina, ever calm, was beside her, observing Amon curiously.
He turned to both girls. "Oh, Eliana. You don’t understand my happiness!"
"Yeah yeah! I don’t get it. But you look like a weirdo here." She was not wrong. Folding her hands under her bust, she called Amon a weirdo.
His brows frowned. How could she call him a weirdo? For Amon, his reaction was the most normal one. Every student feels happy after exams end.
"I am not a weirdo. Rather, I am the most normal one here. Why are you not looking that happy?" he asked both girls with a questioning gaze.
Seraphina and Eliana looked at each other. Then Seraphina sighed, turning back to Amon. "Did you forget we still have the practical exam, which is far more important and harder than the written one?"
Amon stiffened. His face paled. Yes, he totally forgot about it. It would be next month. Only two days remained for this month to end.
According to the professors, the exam would start in the second week of the fourth month. For further instructions, the notice would be sent on pagers.
Amon cald himself. Just when he was going to say sothing to them, a new voice chid in, very familiar. Yet arrogant.
"Hehehe! This exam is over. I will dominate this one." Marcus, the violet-haired young master, ca from behind the girls. Both his hands were tucked in his pockets. His face was filled with confidence and arrogance.
The trio turned their attention to the newcor, still standing there in the hallway.
Seraphina tilted her head cutely, wondering what he was talking about. The elf was already excited at the new entry, knowing sothing fun was going to happen.
Amon smiled at Marcus. ’This guy is a good person.’
His thoughts about Marcus had changed. How could they not? The guy had paid him a good amount of money.
"Hey Marcus! What were you talking about?" Amon asked very kindly.
Marcus’s purple eyes fell on the weird commoner who dared to fool him.
"That I will be top in the written exam," he said with a smirk.
This ti Eliana said, "Well, we will see it."
Marcus scoffed and turned to Seraphina, looking at her with a competitive look.
"Seraphina Luminous. This ti I will top both written and practical exams, and achieve the first rank," Marcus declared. His tone was serious, eyes filled with resolve.
Seraphina blinked slowly, her expression as calm as ever. "Ambition is good," she responded. "But saying it and achieving it are two different things, Marcus." She respected his resolve. But she was not going to let her first rank go.
Eliana snorted. "Yeah, yeah. Keep dreaming. Even if you grow wings, you won’t reach her rank."
Marcus puffed out his chest. "Just watch. I studied like crazy this month and trained like hell."
Amon raised his brows. "You studied? For real?" To Amon, this young master didn’t look like soone who studies a lot.
His voice was filled with mild surprise. Amon thought Marcus’s IQ was on a similar level to his.
Marcus narrowed his eyes. "Why do you sound surprised?!"
Amon put his hand on Marcus’s shoulder seriously. "No, seriously... I know you are strong, Marcus. Very talented. But don’t let it get over your head. Look at . I accept that my brain is small. You shouldn’t be delusional."
Eliana burst out laughing. Even Seraphina’s lips curved ever so slightly.
Amon just broke the serious mont, a scene of rivalry.
Marcus swatted Amon’s hand away. "Tsk! Don’t compare to yourself, boy. I am talented and smart!"
Amon nodded. He should stop here before Marcus got more angry.
Seraphina cleared her throat softly. "Regardless... both of you should focus. The practical exam will not be forgiving."
Eliana grinned fiercely. "I can’t wait! Finally, sothing fun. My hands are itching to fight."
Amon shivered. "Well... I am gonna get an average rank. Don’t want to feel pain." He already had gotten ssed up multiple tis in three months. He didn’t want more trouble.
Eliana’s long pointy ears twitched with joy as she leaned toward him. "What are you saying, Amon? Pain builds character. You beco stronger through pain."
Amon took a step back. "I’m only trying to build grades, not fractures."
Marcus smirked. "Then pray. You’ll need divine blessings to survive." Marcus was hell-bent on beating the shit out of Amon during the exam.
Amon crossed his arms confidently. "Hmph. Who needs divine blessings? I have... my natural talent."
Seraphina stared at him. "You don’t even rember that we still have the practical exam."
Amon froze. Then sighed. "...Okay, maybe I need divine blessings."
Eliana patted his shoulder. "Don’t worry. If you faint, I’ll drag your corpse out of the arena."
"Comforting," Amon muttered. "Very comforting."
Marcus stepped forward proudly. "Anyway, prepare yourselves. I will shine brightest in this academy."
Amon nodded fervently. "Yes yes, main character energy. Very cool."
Marcus blinked. "Main character... what?"
Amon smirked. "Oh, nothing. You’ll understand later."
Eliana laughed again while Seraphina shook her head gently, the faintest chuckle escaping her lips.
"Anyway, I need to prepare for the exam. So I will be going sowhere," Amon said to the others.
Seraphina asked, "Where are you going? To the training ground?"
Amon turned to her and smirked. "To the training ground? Of course not. A great man once said, a hero needs to et with his heroine before going to war! So I will et her first," Amon said with a serious expression.
Now the other three were confused. What hero? Who is hero? Who is heroine?
"Who are you talking about? Are you saying you are a hero? Then who’s the heroine?" Eliana asked with a mischievous smile. There was curiosity in her voice.
Amon smiled widely.
"She is Professor Adelia~ She might be waiting for ."
Now the three were shocked. Marcus had the funniest reaction among them.
"You-you... you shaless bastard!" Marcus was baffled. Just before he could outburst, Amon was already running away.
