"Fuck! So gloomy."

"Amon!" Just then, a voice ca from behind.

It belonged to Caspian.

Amon bowed slightly to him. "Hello, Sir Caspian."

"It seems you just had a good lunch. Now follow . I will take you to the group you are going to join from now on."

Caspian turned around and began walking, motioning for Amon to follow.

Amon quickly fell into step behind him as they passed through the camp. Soldiers moved about. So resting, others sharpening weapons or checking equipnt.

After a short walk, Caspian stopped near the edge of the clearing. There, a small group of soldiers was gathered.

’There are only five...’ Amon thought while looking at them.

It was a compact troop. Only five people in total.

Two won and three n.

Two of the n looked middle-aged, their faces rough and weathered from years of battle.

Their armor bore scratches and dents, clear proof of long service. The third man was much younger, not much older than Amon himself, with a lean build and alert eyes.

Both won appeared to be in their late twenties. They stood confidently, their posture straight and disciplined.

One had her hair tied tightly behind her head, while the other kept hers cut short for practicality. Both carried themselves like seasoned soldiers. They were both beautiful.

Caspian stepped forward and spoke in a firm voice.

"Everyone, gather up for a mont."

The small troop turned their attention toward him.

"This is Amon," Caspian said, placing a hand lightly on Amon’s shoulder. "He’ll be joining your group for a few days."

The soldiers looked at Amon with mild curiosity.

One of the middle-aged n stepped forward first. He had a thick beard and a calm expression.

"Na’s Harvey," he said. "I’m the shield bearer of this group. Also, I’m the one who leads this squad. Nice to et you, kid."

Amon nodded respectfully. "Nice to et you, sir."

The second middle-aged man crossed his arms. His eyes were sharp, but his voice was steady.

"Derrick," he introduced. "I handle scouting and traps."

Amon gave another nod. "I’ll do my best not to get in the way."

The young man stepped forward next, a faint grin on his face.

"I’m Lucien," he said cheerfully. "I am 23 years old. I use a spear."

"Oh," Amon replied, feeling slightly relieved. "Good to et you."

One of the won spoke next. She had long brown hair tied into a tight ponytail and carried a bow on her back.

"Na’s Mira," she said. "I’m the archer." Her voice was calm.

The second woman nodded shortly. She had short black hair and a sword at her waist.

"Kaelra," she said. "Frontline fighter."

Amon looked at all of them and bowed slightly.

"I’m Amon. I’ll be in your care for a while."

Caspian watched the brief introductions with a satisfied expression.

"This group is experienced," he said. "Listen to them, follow orders, and don’t act recklessly."

"I understand," Amon replied seriously.

Caspian gave a final nod. "Good. I’ll leave him to you."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Amon standing before his new temporary comrades.

For a brief mont, an awkward silence settled over the group. Even Amon, who usually talked without hesitation, was silent.

Amon scratched the back of his head lightly. "Um... thanks for having ," he said honestly.

Harlan chuckled, his beard shaking slightly. "Relax, kid. We don’t bite. Also, we’re happy to have a new teammate."

Leon laughed. "Yeah. You look nervous."

Amon smiled awkwardly. "A little. This is my first ti moving with an actual army group."

Mira raised an eyebrow. "You’re not a soldier?"

"No," Amon replied. "I’m a student. From the academy." He was little confused. Aren’t he was known here by most people. After all they also have to find lost Amon during their exploration and mission.

"Oh Mira, you were not here when Sir Caspian told us about him. Did you forget the boy we found two days ago?" Derrick said from the side.

Mira thought for a while and then realized. "Oh yeah. I forgot that. Sorry, Amon. My mory is not that good, hehe~" Mira chuckled.

Kaelra shook her head as if used to her ignorant antics. Mira was soone who hardly cares about what’s going on. So seeing her not rembering about him was not surprising to anyone.

Kaelra studied Amon for a mont, her gaze sharp. "What weapon do you use?"

"A sword," Amon answered. "And a hatchet. I use them together."

Leon’s eyes lit up. "Two weapons? That’s also... very different. I’ve never heard of anyone using a sword and hatchet as dual weapons. Mostly people use the sa weapons as dual wielders."

"I’m still learning," Amon added quickly. "I’m not that strong yet."

Mira smiled faintly. "Honesty is good. Just don’t overestimate yourself out there."

"I won’t," Amon said seriously.

Derrick pointed toward the forest. "When we move, you stay in the middle. Watch how we operate. Don’t rush ahead."

"Understood," Amon replied.

Harlan placed a heavy hand on Amon’s shoulder. "If things get bad, stick close to ."

Amon felt a bit of warmth at that.

"Thank you," he said quietly.

Leon grinned. "Looks like you’re officially part of the group now." He was happy to have soone close to his age. He was the youngest among them before. But not anymore.

Amon exhaled slowly, feeling a strange sense of relief.

"Yeah," he said. "I guess I am." Amon was feeling excited to work with experienced soldiers. It would be a good experience for him.

"Today we have nothing to do. Just guard around the base. So I think you should join us from tomorrow. We’re going inside the forest tomorrow. Just et us at this place tomorrow morning." Derrick said to Amon.

Amon didn’t refuse. "Alright, leader. Then I’ll take my leave. See you later."

Amon left the group and walked toward his tent.

While walking, Amon was looking at the forest.

’This damn forest. It gave so bad mories.’

While thinking about nonsense things, Amon wondered what to do all day.

He clenched his fist and opened it multiple tis.

"Well, I am okay. I think I should practice today and get used to my new powers."

With a wide grin, Amon went toward the area where the knights were training. It was ti to test his new powers again.
