Under the oil lamp, it was a staring contest of big eyes against big eyes.
Xin Lin looked at the idiot, the idiot looked at Xin Lin, grinning from ear to ear.
The considerate Noble Shi had already prepared so hot water for the idiot to wash his face and found him a set of clean clothes to change into.

Their mother just passed away, and she thought that once they arrived at Purple Cloud City, they would be able to acknowledge their father and daughter relationship.
But who would have thought that their father turned out to be an idiot.
Considering Chu Beiqing’s previous disheveled appearance, his days at the Imperial Doctor Mansion must not have been good.
"Do you think I’m very upset?"
Xin Lin shifted her gaze, her little face showing a bit more resolution.
"Isn’t it the case?"
Little Xinzhuo expressed his concern.

After Xin Lin finished speaking, she grabbed a big chicken leg and placed it in front of Chu Beiqing.
The latter smiled with his eyes turning into crescent moons, and started munching happily.
That Imperial Physician Chu on the carriage, Xin Lin disliked him at first sight. Just from a distance, he exuded an air of gloom, making Xin Lin reluctant to call him "dad."
Chu Beiqing had quite an appetite, devouring three big bowls of rice in one go.
Xin Lin was no slouch either, and the father and daughter duo tead up and finished off the entire table of food.
After the al was over, Xin Lin wiped Chu Beiqing’s mouth and hands, asking him to sit quietly to the side.
As expected, he sat obediently, continuing to dole out silly smiles at Xin Lin.
"The Imperial Physician looked like he hadn’t eaten for days, how could those people treat him like that. I’ve already inquired about it, he’s so pitiable."
Noble Shi initially kept her distance from Chu Beiqing, but after seeing him smile innocently at her several tis, she was no longer afraid of him.
She even quietly asked the kitchen staff for information, and that’s how she learned that during the years she was not in Purple Cloud City, great changes had occurred at the Imperial Doctor Mansion.
The main cause of the change was Chu Beiqing right before their eyes.
Five years ago, Chu Beiqing, who was then the Imperial Physician, accompanied Emperor Longteng to the battlefield.
In that battle, Emperor Longteng was ambushed and nearly killed, and it was Chu Beiqing who, at the mont of peril, saved him.
Chu Beiqing protected Emperor Longteng and fought their way out of the encirclent, but was inadvertently seriously injured. Upon returning to Purple Cloud City, Chu Beiqing fell into a coma and everyone thought he was surely done for. But unexpectedly, he survived, yet as a result, he ended up in his current state.
"That’s not even the worst of it. The most awful part is, when Imperial Physician Chu returned with severe injuries, his fiancée looked after him. After he woke up, it turned out his fiancée was pregnant and soon beca the Second Young Master Chu’s Madam. Now, the people of Purple Cloud City are all laughing at Imperial Physician Chu behind his back."
Noble Shi said this and couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.
