A call ca in from an unknown number.
Nina picked up her phone and answered.

"Lina, are you now refusing to even take your father's call?"
Unwilling to give up, Kyler tried calling again.
But this ti, Nina didn't even answer—she hung up directly.
On the third attempt, Nina added the number to her blocked list.
After a mont of silence, Kyler switched to another phone and called Nina's number again.
This ti, Kyler used words that would catch Nina's attention.
"I want to talk about your mother."
Hearing this, Nina, who was about to hang up, paused.
"What do you want to say?"
"Lina, what happened before was my fault. I did those terrible things to you for the sake of power. I'm no better than a beast. You hate as your father, and you have every right to."
Kyler continued, "I won't keep bothering you. I just wanted to tell you so things about your mother."
"And also, I have so of your mother's belongings that I want to give to you."
"Those things rightfully belong to you."
Kyler knew Nina valued family ties deeply.

Bringing up her mother's matters was Kyler's way of catching Nina's attention.
This whole process was a negotiation.
Kyler's initial request for Nina to et in person was just a high bid.

His real goal was to lure Ron out.
This was Kyler's minimum price.
By starting high and dropping to his true demand, he figured the chances of Nina agreeing—and therefore Ron as well—would increase.

Kyler's eyes glinted.
"It's a pity about that last ti. Just as I noticed Ron, he was already near the entrance of Heaven's Arena. If I'd seen him earlier, I could've made my move."

Nina considered for a mont, then hung up the phone.
But this ti, Kyler wasn't impatient.

Just then, Kyler's number appeared on her phone again.
Seeing it, Nina didn't answer.
"Nina, why aren't you answering?"
Nina shook her head.
