"Ted's at a disadvantage—could he really be about to lose?"
"He's the Beast's Heir of our Beast Dojo. Is he really going to lose to so nobody from the Zoldyck family?"
A young man shook his head.
"Don't worry. You've all forgotten that Ted also gained sothing from the Land of Nirvana during this Nirvana Tournant. He hasn't even shown that power yet. Once he does, he'll definitely turn the tables."
Ted was thinking the sa thing. The reward he'd obtained in the Land of Nirvana had been a huge surprise—an entirely different ability, practically a whole new combat style.
"Ron, I acknowledge your strength," Ted said. "But now I'm going to show you my full power. Be careful!"
Ted crossed both arms in front of himself, letting Akutagawa's attacks land freely. A massive amount of aura gathered around Ted.
Splurt!
Splurt!
Splurt!
Because he wasn't dodging, all of Akutagawa's strikes hit ho. Blood spurted out, staining the ground around him.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Suddenly, a steady, thunderous rhythm rang out—like so gigantic heartbeat. In the next instant, Ted began to change again, dropping down on all fours. His form swelled once more—an armored shell, limbs, a massive tail…
Ron's pupils narrowed.
"An Armored Dragon?"
"So this is the power Ted obtained from the Land of Nirvana?"
Transford into an Armored Dragon, Ted radiated an even more imposing aura than when he was a giant ape—especially in terms of defense. Monts earlier, Akutagawa's Rashomon claws had easily pierced the ape's skin, but now, against the Armored Dragon's plating, they were far less effective.
Ron looked on with a nuanced expression. Transforming into a giant ape was sowhat like the Take Over magic from the Fairy Tail world. Changing into an Armored Dragon felt similar as well. But it also reminded Ron of sothing else: Zoan-type Devil Fruits in One Piece.
Zoan Fruits ca in different varieties. One was the basic Zoan, letting you transform into a real-life creature—like a tiger or lion. Then there were the Ancient Zoans, representing extinct species like dinosaurs or archaeopteryx, typically stronger than the basic types. Finally, there were Mythical Zoans, which granted powers from imaginary beasts like a blue dragon or a divine beast.
Ted's giant ape form made Ron think of a basic Zoan Fruit, while his Armored Dragon form resembled an Ancient Zoan. But that was One Piece—this was a different world. There were countless varieties of magical beasts in the human continent alone, and no one knew what the Dark Continent might hold—possibly creatures more powerful than any human imagination. And for Nen users, power ultimately ca from themselves, unlike Devil Fruits, which were external.
Indeed, turning into an Armored Dragon was different from turning into a giant ape, but Ted's total aura wouldn't just skyrocket; the focus of his abilities had simply shifted. One option now was to stall for ti, gather intel, and then counterattack—exactly what Ron was doing. Another would be to go all out before the opponent could wield their new power. Each approach had pros and cons. But since this was a spar, not a life-or-death battle, Ron chose the first option.
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
tallic impact reverberated as Ted, in Armored Dragon form, displayed astonishing defense. But he had lost the speed and agility of the giant ape, and his offensive approach beca simpler.
Thump!
Thump!
Thump!
The ground trembled under Ted's heavy steps as he charged Akutagawa, intending to smash him head-on with his massive skull.
"Yujue!"
A dark-red hue emanated from Akutagawa, then spread across the floor. Spikes sprouted up from the ground.
Splurt!
Ted barreled forward, stepping right onto the spikes. Agonizing pain shot through him, and his face twisted, but he kept going. Akutagawa dodged aside—only for Ted to suddenly pivot on all fours and whirl in a circle. His huge tail lashed out like a hamr, so fast and powerful it cut through the air with a whistle.
Akutagawa looked dood to take a direct hit.
Smack!
Baki Hanma clapped his hands. The two Nen Beasts swapped positions.
Boom!
Ted's tail struck Baki Hanma instead. Baki quickly wrapped both arms around Ted's tail to cushion the blow, but it was still too strong. Baki was sent flying.
Bang!
He crashed heavily into a wall. Ron focused, channeling aura toward Baki to repair him, and soon Baki stood up again.
Ted turned to Ron. "Ron, I don't want to do this, but you leave no choice. You're too tricky—so I'll have to fight dirty to win!"
This ti, Ted didn't charge at Akutagawa or Baki Hanma. He headed straight for Ron.
Outside the ring, several mbers of the Beast Dojo nodded in approval.
