From beginning to end, Ron never believed he would lose.
An S-class Nen user—so what?
The understanding of Nen they possessed was shallow. What stood out was physical strength and aura volu. But Ron's aura was not lacking. His body was not weak. Against him, Neferpitou did not hold an overwhelming advantage. More importantly, Ron had another trump card—one of his humanoid Nen Tool.
An S-class construct: Rosgell.
Natsu and Uchiha Sasuke's attacks could not inflict fatal damage on Neferpitou. Rosgell could. Natsu and Sasuke could not withstand Neferpitou's full power. Rosgell could. In life, this hero of Mingbo had been among the very strongest of S-class Hunters. Now, even diminished as a construct, the lower limit of that power remained high.
As Neferpitou closed in again, Ron gave the command.
Rosgell's figure erged—headless, missing one arm and one leg, yet standing firm. A fist swung.
Boom!
The two blows collided. Rosgell staggered back slightly, but Neferpitou was forced further away.
"Another one?" Neferpitou's pupils narrowed, staring at Rosgell. "Do humans possess so many ans? This aura is weaker than mine… yet it holds back."
At first, Neferpitou had not wished to tangle with Ron. The intent was to rush to the King, to eliminate Netero, to ensure the King's safety. Ron had not mattered.
But when Natsu and Sasuke revealed their abilities, it beca clear: unless Ron was defeated, escape would be impossible. Ron would pursue it indefinitely.
Like countless enemies before, Neferpitou chose the most efficient response—ignore the beasts, strike at the user. But Natsu's position-swap made locating Ron precisely almost impossible. The flickering smog further obscured perception, the oily mist interfering with En. It was clear that bypassing the constructs to kill Ron outright would not work.
Power had to be unleashed.
With overwhelming force, Neferpitou crushed Natsu and Sasuke one after another, driving them to the brink. Only then was there a chance to reach Ron directly. But when Killer Queen appeared, that opportunity collapsed, leaving Neferpitou injured instead.
Ti bled away. Urgency grew.
Still, Killer Queen's attack was limited to a single strike. Bursting forth again, Neferpitou at last landed a blow on Ron's body. Joy flickered—surely no matter how strong Ron's core was, such an attack could not be endured.
But it was endured. No mortal wound and defence stronger even than his beasts.
This was no ordinary Beast User style. Ron's body had absorbed Toriko, who was an A-rank Nen user himself; specifically, Toriko drastically enhanced Ron's physical strength. Coupled with Gourt Cells, since the Hunter Exam he had consud countless rare foods—across cities, in Heaven's Arena, in the Gourt Paradise. With Erina's ability perfectly paired, his body had evolved far beyond human norms.
Again Neferpitou closed in, only to be t with yet another hidden card.
Again and again, trump after trump. How many remained unseen?
Despair edged closer—not the despair of defeat, but the despair of not knowing when there would be a chance to escape, to reach the King, to fulfill the only duty that mattered.
Ron had already shown so many thods. What if Netero had as many?
"I need more. More power!"
Snarling, Neferpitou forced a further eruption of aura.
Boom!
Another clash, this ti pressing Rosgell back further. A second exchange tilted the advantage further.
In the end, Neferpitou was a complete S-class Hunter; Rosgell was not.
On the third, dominance seed assured—until suddenly a violent pull seized Neferpitou's body. Aura began draining uncontrollably, bleeding away at incredible speed.
"Pain Split!"
The aura had not vanished—it had transferred into Lampent. When the four conditions were t, even a lesser construct could bite deep. Just as Knuckle's nen beast could bring down Youpi, so too could this power act upon Neferpitou.
Half of the total aura vanished in an instant.
The loss itself was not the killing blow—it was the destabilization. With so much aura stripped away at once, Black Puppet Dance faltered, and Neferpitou's state wavered as a result.
And Ron, as a top-class Nen user, did not miss the chance.
"Brilliant Fla of the Fire Dragon!"
"Chidori!"
Rosgell's full-force strike, Ron's coordinated attacks—three assaults from three angles, fire, lightning, and raw physical power—all converged at once.
Boom!
The ground quaked. Space itself seed to ripple. At the center, Neferpitou was hamred harder than ever since birth, suffering the most grievous wounds yet inflicted.
"Good… good… excellent, human!"
The figure erged again, ragged, bloodied, clothes in tatters, wounds too many to count. Glaring at Ron, the eyes no longer held only urgency and anger for the King's sake. They burned now with killing intent—pure and absolute, directed at Ron.
