In the private room, in front of the dining table.

Ye Hong’s face was ominously dark. He drank one glass of wine after another, without showing any intention of speaking.

The atmosphere in the room grew extrely oppressive.

Seeing this, Cai Weiguo suddenly spoke up, "Our county’s iron ore resources seem to be quite abundant."

As soon as these words were uttered, the hand holding Ye Hong’s wine glass paused slightly.

Imdiately afterward, his mood seed to shift to one of ecstatic delight.

Back when Cai Weiguo was serving as Deputy County Magistrate, Yanxi Province had conducted a province-wide mineral resource survey.

It was discovered that Dragon Mountain had abundant underground iron ore reserves.

At the ti, there were plans to develop it, but for various reasons, the project was shelved.

Now that so many years had passed, Ye Hong had all but forgotten about it.

Only now, prompted by Cai Weiguo’s reminder, did he suddenly rember.

After all, mining was far more lucrative than farming. Having such an achievent to present later would surely be sothing to boast about.

After the al, the next day.

As soon as Ye Hong arrived at his office, he imdiately ordered his secretary to gather all the docunts related to iron ore.

By noon, he had also convened a eting with all his trusted inner circle.

Everyone was visibly excited upon learning of Ye Hong’s plan to initiate mining operations.

Everyone except for Cai Weiguo, whose brows furrowed slightly, as if grappling with so concern.

Noticing this, Ye Hong imdiately asked, "Do you have any other opinions?"

"Not really, just that Chen Bin will definitely disagree."

With a cold snort, Ye Hong replied confidently.

"Don’t worry about that; I’m the top leader of Dragon Mountain. On my turf, his word doesn’t count!"

In the afternoon, Ye Hong summoned all the County Committee mbers to the eting room.

Without any hesitation, he directly proposed his plan to mine for iron ore.

Chen Bin imdiately expressed firm opposition to this.

Ye Hong, with a calm expression, asked, "County Magistrate Chen, then let’s hear your brilliant ideas."

In Chen Bin’s view, mining iron ore would destroy the environnt, a complete antithesis to his vision of producing organic vegetables.

He stated bluntly, "The prospects for vegetable greenhouses are excellent. I even plan to expand this year. Mining iron ore, however, will damage the soil and jeopardize the physical and ntal well-being of the villagers."

Ye Hong didn’t flinch and retorted with righteous indignation.

"Those are just your personal opinions and have nothing to do with reality! Are you implying that residents in cities with a developed heavy industry all fall ill? And as for soil damage—pure nonsense!"

Seeing this line of reasoning wasn’t working, Chen Bin had no choice but to change his approach.

"Secretary Ye, Dragon Mountain County has a weak industrial foundation and limited financial resources. We simply can’t afford to invest in mining developnt!"

"That’s not sothing you need to worry about. If we succeed in mining iron ore, it will be highly profitable."

Locking eyes with Ye Hong, Chen Bin’s gaze grew gradually sharper.

"You’re being overly optimistic. Can you guarantee it’ll be nothing but profit?"

Ye Hong stared back at him, responding tit-for-tat, "I can!"

"Fine. Since you’re so confident, then stake your official position as collateral. Do you dare?"

"This..."

Ye Hong hadn’t anticipated Chen Bin daring to challenge him head-on.

Although Ye Hong was convinced the iron ore project was a sure bet, there’s always the risk of the unexpected.

If it failed, what then?

With this in mind, Ye Hong shifted the discussion, countering Chen Bin in return.

"Then can you guarantee that vegetable greenhouses will definitely be a success?"

"I can!"

Chen Bin replied in a deep voice, "As long as the county executes my plan, there won’t be the slightest problem with the greenhouses!"

Ye Hong also understood that Chen Bin’s greenhouse plan had already received endorsent from higher-level authorities.

Sabotaging it would obviously be out of the question.

After a brief mont of thought, Ye Hong realized the purpose of convening this eting was to secure approval for the iron ore project.

Bickering with Chen Bin was simply a waste of effort.

So he turned to the others in the room and said, "Regarding whether or not we move forward with the iron ore project, I’d like to hear everyone’s opinion."

Several of those present were Ye Hong’s loyal supporters, and they naturally showed their strong support.

Seeing this, Ye Hong smiled and said.

"Since there’s such overwhelming support, then..."

Before he could finish speaking, Chen Bin abruptly stood up and declared.

"I’m absolutely opposed to the iron ore project!"

With those words, he turned and left the room.

Seeing this, Xiong Wubing and others quickly followed behind him.

After all, they were aligned with Chen Bin and needed to show their stance.

Before long, only Ye Hong’s camp remained in the eting room.

Cai Weiguo picked up his cup and leisurely sipped so water.

Only then did he remark, "In my opinion, that kid Chen Bin has probably run off to report this to the city leadership again."

Upon hearing this, Ye Hong couldn’t stay calm any longer.

He imdiately shouted to his secretary, "Get the car ready!"

The iron ore project was extrely important to him.

Even though he knew Cao Sanjin was backing Chen Bin, Ye Hong still wanted a chance to make his case.

After all, as the Municipal Party Secretary, Cao Sanjin certainly wouldn’t sacrifice Dragon Mountain County’s economic developnt just for Chen Bin, right?

In the County Magistrate’s Office.

As expected, Chen Bin had already called Cao Sanjin.

It was, in truth, an act of desperation.

Given that most of the County Committee mbers were under Ye Hong’s influence, Chen Bin’s only option was to seek Cao Sanjin’s help.

However, after understanding the full scope of the issue, Cao Sanjin responded calmly.

"I don’t intend to help you with this matter."

These words left Chen Bin utterly stunned. He imdiately asked, "Why not?"

"If I solve every problem you encounter, how will you grow through experience?"

With a sigh, Chen Bin found himself at a loss for words.

Then Cao Sanjin continued, "Regardless of Ye Hong’s motives for mining, it at least contributes significantly to Dragon Mountain’s economic developnt. Since the County Committee has already approved it, I have no grounds to oppose it. You’ll have to handle this on your own!"

With that, Cao Sanjin hung up the phone.

Slumping into his chair, Chen Bin felt an overwhelming headache.

Yet upon reflection, he realized Cao Sanjin’s words made a lot of sense.

Running to seek help every ti there’s a problem wasn’t a sustainable solution.

In the Municipal Party Secretary’s Office.

When Ye Hong t with Cao Sanjin, he explained his plans to develop the iron ore mines.

He had even braced himself to be scolded, but surprisingly, Cao Sanjin nodded in agreent.

On the drive back to the county seat, Ye Hong appeared imnsely pleased.

Through this, Ye Hong finally ca to realize that Cao Sanjin wasn’t truly the benefactor backing Chen Bin.

The previous refusal to transfer Chen Bin had been rely an act of appreciating talent.

"Damn, so that kid doesn’t actually have anyone behind him? He nearly scared to death!"

Back at his office, Chen Bin found himself deeply troubled by the iron ore project.

His original intention had been to vigorously promote off-season vegetables, helping Dragon Mountain County’s villagers achieve prosperity through farming.

But now, this iron ore mining would not only damage the environnt but also affect arable land.

Under no circumstances could he allow Ye Hong’s plan to succeed.

But without Cao Sanjin’s support, what could he do to put a stop to it?
