Early the next morning, Ye Hong went to find Feng Huzhou and laid out the situation in the county.
To this, Feng Huzhou was not the least bit surprised.
In his view, Chen Bin’s maneuvers were perfectly normal.

"Cao Sanjin is one of the up-and-coming young officials being grood by higher-ups, and he’s also a strong candidate for the next provincial governor. Do you think it’s worth taking him down for the sake of a lowly Chen Bin?"
At this point, Feng Huzhou made a sharp turn in his tone,
his eyes flashing with a venomous gleam.
"But given that he’s a candidate for provincial governor, I’ll do the people a favor and investigate him thoroughly. If there’s truly sothing on him, forget about becoming governor—he won’t even get to keep his position as Municipal Party Secretary!"

"Do you have a personal grudge against Feng Huzhou?"
"No grudge! Soone like —a small fry—would hardly have a chance to et him, let alone hold a grudge. I just had a little conflict with his son before."
"And how much do you know about Feng Huzhou?"
"I only know that he has connections in the Imperial Capital. Nothing else."
"If you know he has ties in the Imperial Capital, why did you provoke his son?! Don’t tell you think that with covering for you, you fear nothing? Let tell you this: Feng Huzhou’s connections in the Imperial Capital are so significant even I wouldn’t dare cross him!"

Not long after, Cao Sanjin and Jiang Ninghan returned to their room.
Without a word, Cao Chenxi reached over to pull at Chen Bin’s pants.
Chen Bin, startled, quickly asked, "What are you doing?"
Cao Chenxi replied irritably, "You said you were getting treated last ti. It’s been so long, you must be fine by now, right? I can’t take it anymore. No matter what, you’re giving it to tonight!"
Seeing the situation turn critical, Chen Bin quickly pulled out his phone, glanced at it, and exclaid,

With that, he got up and bolted.
Watching him leave, Cao Chenxi was furious.

Sitting on the sofa, growing angrier by the mont, she eventually muttered to herself,
