The traffic officer shook his head and replied firmly.

With those words, Shen Chengbao pressed himself onto Lan Hui.
She only offered a token resistance before giving up the struggle.
After it was over, Lan Hui closed her eyes and asked, still savoring the mont.
"Alright, tell what you need my help with."
Lighting a cigarette, Shen Chengbao took a deep drag and recounted the rear-ending incident involving Ma Juan.
Lan Hui snapped her eyes open in surprise and exclaid.
"You’re not seriously asking for money, are you?"
"It’s not just money. Yan Hanlu’s been detained by the traffic officers. You have connections—any chance you could help get her out?"
Lan Hui grabbed the pillow and hit Shen Chengbao repeatedly.
"You bastard! You dare to co to with sothing like this? What do you take for?!"
Unable to evade her blows, Shen Chengbao left the bedroom and spent the night in the guestroom.
Early the next morning, Hong Ke arrived at Lan Hui’s office to report work.
Noticing her unpleasant expression, he asked directly.
"Sister Hui, what’s wrong?"
Hong Ke was Lan Hui’s close confidant. Despite their superior-subordinate dynamic, they spoke freely about almost everything.
Sighing, Lan Hui recounted what had happened the night before.
"That bastard Shen Chengbao spends my money on won outside, and now he’s asking to help bail one of them out. It’s just outrageous!"
