Xin Kalan followed Chen Bin’s gaze and, realizing her embarrassnt, her cheeks flushed instantly.
She quickly put down her laptop and returned to the room.
When she ca back out again, she had wrapped herself up tightly, which left Chen Bin visibly disappointed.
Xin Kalan simply smiled faintly and continued devoting her energy back into the creative process.
After nearly two hours, the two finally finished collaborating on the script.
Xin Kalan stretched lazily and then said to Chen Bin.
"Take a look to see if there’s anything that needs revising, I’ll go take a shower."
He nodded and began reviewing the script earnestly.
Before long, however, a sudden shriek ca from the bathroom.
"Chen Tai, help !"
Startled, Chen Bin quickly got up and rushed to the bathroom door.
He found the door locked and anxiously asked, "Miss Xin, what’s wrong?"
When Xin Kalan opened the door, Chen Bin saw her soaked from head to toe, looking like a drenched chick.
The shower valve was spurting water like a high-pressure hose, spraying uncontrollably.
Chen Bin braved the torrent and attempted to turn the valve off, only to find it wouldn’t budge.
Out of options, he grabbed a nearby towel, hoping to block the spraying water.
But the powerful stream rendered the towel useless.
Wiping the water off her face, Xin Kalan urgently asked.
"Chen Tai, what should we do? If this keeps up, it will flood the downstairs neighbors!"
"Don’t panic, I’ll go find the main valve!"
With those words, Chen Bin began searching around.
Finally, in the kitchen, he managed to shut off the main valve above the water ter.
When he returned to the bathroom, the force of the water was lessening, and soon it stopped entirely.
Xin Kalan shook her dripping hair and, looking annoyed, said.
"I’ve only just moved in a few days ago, and the shower’s already broken. Did you go for a cheap apartnt to save money?"
"How is that possible? Maybe you twisted the valve too hard and broke it yourself."
"You..."
Xin Kalan raised her delicate fist and glared furiously at Chen Bin.
He chuckled and responded teasingly, "What? Are you planning to hit ?"
"You think I won’t dare?"
"I’m your boss. Give it a try if you dare to touch ."
"Off the clock, we’re equals. Let tell you sothing—this lady can be quite fierce. If you keep talking like this, you better watch out, or I’ll teach you a lesson!"
Chen Bin hadn’t expected won from Taiwan to look so adorable even when angry.
So he stepped forward and pinned her against the wall.
"Go ahead, try touching ."
Xin Kalan raised her fist, ready to strike, but Chen Bin grabbed hold of it tightly.
No matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t free herself and could only stare at him, cheeks puffing with defiance.
Their gazes locked, and the environnt around them fell completely silent.
All they could hear was each other’s breathing, and the atmosphere gradually turned intimate.
Xin Kalan suddenly trembled slightly and instinctively averted her gaze.
She looked like a flower blooming unexpectedly—radiant and stunning.
Chen Bin felt his heart swell with emotion and leaned in to kiss her soft lips.
Just as Xin Kalan tried to turn her face away, his hand cupped her chin, holding her in place.
With no escape, she shyly closed her eyes.
Just as the two were lost in their passionate kiss, the phone rang abruptly.
The romantic mood shattered instantly, and Chen Bin frowned slightly.
Who was so inconsiderate to disturb him at such a mont?
Xin Kalan finally snapped out of it and, attempting to remain calm, said.
"Hurry up and answer the phone. Don’t let business get delayed."
Chen Bin took out his phone and saw Zhao Xini’s na on the screen. His irritation vanished imdiately.
As he stepped out of the bathroom to take the call, Xin Kalan quickly locked the door behind him.
She leaned over the sink, breathing heavily.
Raising her head slightly, she gazed at her reflection in the mirror, mories slowly resurfacing in her mind.
That person buried deep in her heart... had returned.
On the call, Chen Bin learned that today was Zhao Nianbing’s birthday.
Hastily saying goodbye to Xin Kalan, he rushed to buy a gift and drove off.
The next day, Chen Bin thought of the script he and Xin Kalan had created and began selecting the celebrity lineup.
After much deliberation, he decided on a well-known middle-aged male celebrity paired with six trending idols.
For hosts, Chen Bin chose Wu Jie and Zhang Chi.
Wu Jie was his woman, so she had to be given importance.
Zhang Chi was a highly talented host whom Chen Bin felt was worth cultivating.
The show consisted of a total of twenty-four episodes, which would be fild in three cities across Yanxi Province, with plans to finish recording by the end of the year.
Once all the stars were confird, an elaborate launch event was held in Tianhai.
After the key crew mbers beca familiar with the script, they imdiately headed to the shooting locations to begin filming.
In mid-December, Xin Kalan brought a file to Chen Bin’s office.
"Chen Tai, here’s the list of all the celebrities participating in the concert and their songs. Please take a look."
Chen Bin reviewed it and noticed there were a total of 99 perforrs.
The list included stars from various regions.
However, when flipping to the end, he couldn’t help but ask, "Why didn’t you invite Guan Kongcheng?"
Guan Kongcheng, in his early thirties, was not only a singer-songwriter but also one of Huaxia’s hottest music icons.
Though Chen Bin didn’t particularly enjoy Guan Kongcheng’s music—finding the fast-paced songs lacking mass appeal—they were undeniably popular among younger audiences. Catering to their tastes ant profit.
Xin Kalan’s heart skipped a beat before she quickly explained.
"I heard Guan Kongcheng is preparing for the national Spring Festival Gala, so I didn’t invite him."
"The Spring Festival Gala is in February, and our concert is in December. They wouldn’t conflict. If we bring Guan Kongcheng on board, it’ll undoubtedly attract more ad sponsors."
"But we already have 99 perforrs. Having too many may not be ideal."
"It’s fine—we might as well make it an even hundred."
With that, Chen Bin picked up his phone and called Niu Kuipeng.
"Mr. Niu, our station is planning a concert. Could you help us contact Guan Kongcheng?"
Hearing this, Xin Kalan furrowed her brows slightly, her expression becoming uneasy.
After Chen Bin hung up the phone, she changed the topic.
"Many people keep asking, ’When will *Run, Yanxi* air?’ I’ve already contacted the lead producer over there, and they said it will likely be ready in about a week. We should set the broadcast schedule."
After thinking for a mont, Chen Bin replied.
"Start from January next year—broadcast two episodes a week. Once school begins, switch to one episode per week."
"Alright, I’ll start planning it now."
With those words, Xin Kalan left the office.
At that mont, Chen Bin’s phone suddenly rang.
He saw that it was Cong Lijie calling.
As soon as he answered, an accusing voice ca through.
"Did you send Wu Jie out to film a show?"
"Yes, why?"
"Do you know who she’s currently with?"
His heart sank, and his expression darkened imdiately.
"What do you an by that?"
