Actually, there's sothing Wu Kong didn't ntion: the reason they made the Southern Wilderness so peaceful and attracted most people from the Ancient Wilderness to the Southern Wilderness was because, decades ago, they suddenly found that only relying on newborns and young people from nearby towns was no longer sufficient for the sect's needs. The Gu Sect was in danger of recruiting only a few disciples each year, and if that persisted, they might face extinction once the older generation passed on. Thus, the higher-ups were determined to create a peaceful place in the Ancient Wilderness.
This way, the townspeople and villagers in the Ancient Wilderness would flock to this area for survival, given the scarce demon beasts that were imdiately eradicated when discovered. They could roam around freely without worrying about demon beast interference and would feel grateful, eventually joining the Gu Sect.
And as expected, their plan was successful. They managed to recruit a large number of disciples each year, sotis even having to cap the number because too many people joining wasn't ideal.
Reflecting on a few years ago when they could only recruit two or three kittens a year, with so years yielding none, and seeing the current influx with people taking pride in joining the Gu Sect, those high-ups were very grateful for their decision.
"I see," Ye Tianfan nodded, thinking that although the Gu Sect bordered both righteousness and wickedness, they seed to lean more towards righteousness; otherwise, they would have long been deed demonic by the orthodox sects.

"The Red Moon phenonon is a rare spectacle in the Ancient Wilderness. When a red moon appears at night over the Ancient Wilderness, all demon beasts in the region experience a massive surge in power and start invading towns, killing anyone they see. Even two species of demon beasts that are natural enemies, or have deep blood feuds, will put aside their grudges and turn against humans," Wu Kong explained. "Moreover, even the weakest demon beast can leap from Qian Yuan level one to level seven or eight. The cause of the Red Moon phenonon remains a mystery!"
Ye Tianfan felt uneasy upon hearing this. It couldn't be that coincidental, could it? Surely not. He had just arrived; how could the Red Moon phenonon target him directly? Impossible.
"When was the last Red Moon phenonon?" Ye Tianfan asked.
"The last one? It was about a hundred years ago, or maybe eighty years, I'd have to check the ancient texts for the exact ti," Wu Kong replied, uncertain of why Ye Tianfan was asking about the Red Moon's timing but nevertheless provided information.

"No need to calculate, it's pointless!" Wu Kong shook his head and said, "The Red Moon phenonon doesn't follow a tiline. Each occurrence is unpredictable. For instance, according to the ancient records, the first occurrence was over two hundred years apart from the second, and the second was seven years apart from the third. The most recent occurrences, the last and the one before, were separated by over a decade. And, as of now, it hasn't occurred again in decades or centuries."
"If we were to calculate, the Red Moon could break out at any ti," Wu Kong said after shaking his head.
Hearing this, Ye Tianfan stopped asking. Indeed, if it was as Wu Kong said, the possibility of the Red Moon occurring this ti was quite high.
Ye Tianfan was now pondering whether to leave. He had co here to train, not to die. If the Red Moon broke out, even the weakest demon beasts would elevate to Qian Yuan levels seven or eight.
