Likewise, everyone was holding their breath, and upon hearing these words, they quickly got into action, setting up crossbows, pulling the strings tight, aiming at Ye Tianfan in the sky.

So despite everyone finding cover, many were still shot dead because their covers weren't sturdy enough to withstand the crossbow arrows' penetration.
As the rain of crossbow arrows ended, the leader ca out from cover, even he was pierced through his arm by a crossbow arrow which had penetrated the cover.
