After the loud explosion, there ca an eruption of energy collision as if a volcano had burst forth. Two ferocious triple techniques, upon rging, unleashed the terrifying energies they contained. Instantly, a gust of wind appeared out of thin air above the walls, howling past. At the point where the fused techniques t the faint purple mbrane, even the illusory air seed to be blurred and distorted by the powerful energy clash.
Ye Tianfan saw once again that those faint purple mbranes were clearly struggling to hold on, starting to extend from the walls downward, until even the ground was covered with a faint touch of the purple mbrane.
Moreover, Ye Tianfan noticed that in the areas covered by the purple mbrane, everything began to vibrate. It was here that the attacks started to be distributed.
The walls were fine after all, being very sturdy with no significant changes, but the ground couldn't handle it. Even though it extended just a little, these extended areas began to shake violently, as if an earthquake had occurred.
These vibrations, transmitted through the ground, caused the entire surface within the walls to start shaking.
Below, people were even prompted by the tremors to urgently kowtow to the sky, begging for forgiveness from the heavens.
So even turned to dig through the rubble, attempting to return to the cells they had previously inhabited.
Seeing this, Ye Tianfan refrained from striking down his third triple technique. He didn't know what consequences the third strike could bring. The fusion of three techniques is not as simple as one plus one plus one; it could lead to a direct explosion.
Moreover, the resulting power could be even stronger than four techniques combined.
By then, how much these faint purple mbranes would extend, Ye Tianfan wasn't sure. But even if they stretched to cover every place within the walls, Ye Tianfan wouldn't be surprised, as the power of the triple techniques was imnse.
Ye Tianfan didn't often use two or more secret techniques in fusion exactly because this technique had a critical flaw.
This technique could rge only when encountering a situation where a triple technique was launched and then held in a stalemate.
At present, there's no Defensive Magical Treasure capable of consistently withstanding such techniques; being in a stalemate is a death sentence.
Only when two people's techniques clash might there be a stalemate; a one-sided stalemate is asking for death.
During a stalemate, an opponent could co close and stab you viciously, leaving you with no recourse.
Therefore, almost all Defensive Magical Treasures now either envelop the entire body, like the Xuanhuang Tower, to cover the whole body without any delay, or are held like a shield on the arm, using force deflection upon encountering a technique. However, this type of treasure is virtually out of the market now because it's too dangerous. One wrong move, and the technique could directly push you to the side, and then you'd not even know how you died.
Another thod is to use one's internal Spiritual Power to neutralize the opponent's technique. This is similar to a spiritual power duel. Of course, this requires your Magical Treasure to block the opponent's attack first. To expedite the negation, one might initially use one's internal Spiritual Power to reduce a portion of the technique's power. Once diminished to a certain extent, the treasure itself would nullify it, recovering so Spiritual Power, further refined by the treasure before returning it to its owner.
Most treasures nowadays function this way, much like the Xuanhuang Tower. It can cover Ye Tianfan's whole body, not delaying anything. Moreover, it can nullify the technique when it arrives, returning so Spiritual Power to Ye Tianfan.
These processes occur in a very brief ti, so Ye Tianfan typically doesn't notice, only sensing a slight depletion of internal Spiritual Power.
Of course, one could feel it specifically if desired, but during battle, who would bother to do that? Wouldn't it just slow down their own death?
Ye Tianfan thought that if this triple technique was struck down, the faint purple mbrane would cover the entire city walls. The ensuing tremors would be violent indeed.
Perhaps the experintal subjects might survive, but ordinary people wouldn't stand a chance. A re crack or gap would be fatal, squeezing them to death.
So Ye Tianfan stopped the triple technique in his hand, allowing it to dissipate, and watched as the two rged techniques slowly faded due to insufficient follow-up energy.
It seed that going from above wasn't feasible, and going from below was even less so. Such high walls required deep foundations, yet they didn't move at all during the tremors just now. Ye Tianfan could believe they were built on a kiloter-deep foundation.
"Let's go. We need to plan long-term for this matter, and since it's almost noon, let's quickly find a place to rest and eat sothing," Ye Tianfan said to the child, then turned and flew towards the people remaining on the ground.
"Benefactor, what happened? There was divine wrath just now; do you know what caused it? Is it because we tried to escape our fate, angering the heavens?"
"Yes, benefactor, maybe we should go back!"
"Right, let's go back. It's too dangerous outside."
Hearing these words, Ye Tianfan understood their limited knowledge, yet was still angry, and said to everyone, "Put aside your notions of divine wrath and heavenly punishnt. There is no divine wrath; it was entirely because I caused it. The sky was sealed off by those people, which is the mbrane you saw. When I attacked it, you saw the consequences."
Ye Tianfan didn't tell them about the Array, because their knowledge was insufficient. Explaining it would involve telling them what an Array is, and after much explanation, it would be simpler to just tell them the top was sealed, and we couldn't exit through the top.
Everyone was truly shocked by Ye Tianfan's words. They had thought cultivators were just like that, given they too had things in their bodies only cultivators possessed, and during strength testing, could punch a cow to death.
If not for the spiritual lock, they would've already broken out. Moreover, even if they wanted to die, they couldn't.
