Just then, Ye Feng entered the living room and saw Zhou Shuyun lost in thought. With a puzzled expression, Ye Feng asked, "Grandma, why haven’t you gone to sleep yet? What are you thinking about sitting here all alone?"
"Ah..." Zhou Shuyun snapped out of her reverie. Preoccupied with the events that had just transpired, she hadn’t noticed Ye Feng’s arrival. Seeing him now brought a complex expression to her eyes.
"What can I say, Shiyu isn’t feeling very well. Go check on her," Zhou Shuyun said.
"Oh?" Upon hearing that Lin Shiyu was upset, Ye Feng furrowed his brow and then said, "You should rest early too."
It wasn’t long before Ye Feng entered the room and found the lights off. He gently called out, "Shiyu..."
After a while, Lin Shiyu finally said, "I’m tired. Let’s talk tomorrow."
Hearing Lin Shiyu’s words, Ye Feng felt increasingly uneasy. This was definitely not typical behavior for her.
Recalling this, Ye Feng turned on the room lights. Seeing Lin Shiyu with her back turned to him, his confusion deepened, and he asked with a frown, "Shiyu, what happened? Tell !"
Lin Shiyu replied, "It’s nothing. I just had so trouble at work. Let’s sleep; I can handle it!"
Ye Feng’s frown deepened, feeling a pang of heartache. He had never seen Lin Shiyu so downcast since he had known her. He walked over to her and helped her up.
But as he did so, he saw a clear slap mark on Lin Shiyu’s face.
"This..." Instantly, Ye Feng’s face darkened. Then he noticed that her hand was also bandaged, clearly injured, and his expression grew even uglier, as somber as dripping water.
"What happened?" Ye Feng’s voice was chillingly cold, the temperature around them dropping rapidly, making the room feel as though it had suddenly plunged into an ice cellar. At that mont, Ye Feng was like a beast teetering on the edge of eruption.
Lin Shiyu shook her head. "Didn’t I tell you I’m fine? Let’s sleep."
"How can you be fine? What happened to your hand and your face is all swollen up. And you say you’re fine? Tell , did they bully you?" Ye Feng asked sternly.
Lin Shiyu responded, "Ye Feng, don’t worry about so much. I’m fine. I just fell accidentally, hit so debris on the floor, and cut my hand. Really, it’s nothing. Let’s sleep."
Ye Feng, feeling extrely angry, didn’t believe her. He looked at Lin Shiyu and asked, "Are you sure you won’t tell ?"
Lin Shiyu shook her head. "Haven’t I already told you? Please, let’s just go to sleep. Are you saying you don’t trust ?"
"Hmph!" Ye Feng snorted coldly and then turned and walked out toward the living room.
As he left, he rembered the odd look Zhou Shuyun had given him when he first arrived. Suddenly realizing sothing, Lin Shiyu quickly got out of bed and called out, "Ye Feng, what are you going to do?"
Ye Feng answered coldly, "I’m going to have a chat with Grandma."
Then he left the room, and Lin Shiyu hurriedly threw on her clothes and followed after him.
Back in the living room, Zhou Shuyun still appeared dazed. Today she had indeed been too harsh on Lin Shiyu. After all, she was Ye Feng’s wife. The saying goes, ’Love , love my dog.’ She regretted her actions now.
"Grandma!" At that instant, Ye Feng’s voice reached Zhou Shuyun’s ears.
Zhou Shuyun started and looked up at Ye Feng, her face uneasy. Then forcing a smile, she said, "Ye Feng, what is it? Weren’t you going back to sleep? Shiyu is fine, right?"
Ye Feng managed to maintain a respectful attitude and asked, "Grandma, what happened to Shiyu’s face and her hand? Why is she injured? What exactly happened?"
Zhou Shuyun’s expression beca even more troubled as she replied, "Actually, there was a disagreent between Shiyu, , and Qingqing. It was nothing serious, and the misunderstanding has been cleared up."
"Oh?" Ye Feng’s expression darkened. He looked at Zhou Shuyun and said, "Grandma, while I still consider you my grandma, I want you to tell , every single detail, and nothing less. I rember there are caras in this living room, right? If you don’t tell , I will check the footage myself, and then it won’t be so easy to resolve!"
"Ye Feng, didn’t I tell you, I’m fine? It’s late; please don’t disturb Grandma while she’s resting!" Just then, Lin Shiyu rushed out anxiously.
Ye Feng’s face was icy: "I will handle this myself; you stay out of it!"
Zhou Shuyun sighed resignedly: "Fine, Ye Feng, I’ll tell you..."
Then Zhou Shuyun recounted everything that had happened, and Ye Feng’s face grew darker still, his inner volcano ready to erupt at any mont.
After she had finished speaking, Ye Feng remained silent, his face grim. Zhou Shuyun looked guiltily at Lin Shiyu: "Shiyu, I was wrong today. I hope you can forgive . I feel deeply ashad before Ye Feng. Whenever I think of Ye Feng, I think of his mother, and I truly wish for his happiness. Now I realize, as long as Ye Feng is happy and joyous, that’s what matters. I shouldn’t have pressured you."
Lin Shiyu shook her head, Zhou Shuyun having sincerely apologized. Lin Shiyu naturally couldn’t stay mad: "Grandma, I’m not angry with you anymore; it’s all in the past now..."
After hearing Lin Shiyu’s words, Ye Feng’s face remained unchanging, still looking grim. While he sowhat understood Zhou Shuyun’s words and knew she was his elder who loved him in her own way, it was just the wrong thod of showing it, so Ye Feng didn’t bla Zhou Shuyun too harshly.
But Gao Qingqing was a different story; from the beginning, she had clearly been targeting Lin Shiyu.
