Chapter 1462: They Want to Kill Me

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

A group of thirteen individuals descended from the sky onto Levestor Peak.

They were members of the Nine Swords Sect Law Enforcement Hall, tasked specifically with managing outer sect disciples.

The country had its laws, and the sect had its rules.

However, this simple-minded individual had only been in the inner sect for a few days and had already violated sect rules multiple times.

The thirteen law enforcement members surrounded Luke Yates, the target of their attention.

The leader, dressed in green robes, spoke with evident irritation. “Luke Yates, it’s you again. You’ve nearly depleted all the chickens on Levestor Peak. Elder Royce didn’t want to argue with a mere outer sect disciple like you when he was in a good mood. But you haven’t shown any remorse or admitted your mistakes. e with me to the Law Enforcement Hall!”

...

“I’m not going!” Luke protested, stepping back cautiously.

He knew that going to the Law Enforcement Hall meant facing a severe beating.

The green-robed leader’s expression darkened. “This isn’t up for discussion. If you resist, you’ll face severe punishment. Do you understand?”

His words seemed to imply that Luke had resisted before.

He was the same person who had attempted to apprehend the little fool last time, along with two others, all of them at the saint realm.

Yet, they ended up being thoroughly beaten by Luke.

.

Not only did Luke escape, but he also sought refuge with his brother, Frediano Jadanza.

However, despite the incident, Luke wasn’t severely punished.

Instead, it drew the attention of several elders.

The fact that the little fool, still in the divine realm, had managed to defeat three peers at the saint realm was nothing short of extraordinary talent.

It was hardly surprising that he would eventually bee an eminent saint.

The Nine Swords Sect boasted only 23 eminent saints, including one sect master and twenty-two elders.

Among them, Luke held the position of an elder.

Given his potential, he might even have a shot at being a holy master.

With the backing of an elder, an outer sect disciple like Luke held a status far from ordinary.

Otherwise, with Luke’s penchant for devouring spirit chickens on the Levestor Peak, he’d likely face three to five years of confinement, not to mention severe punishment.

Eventually, one of the elders intervened and brushed the matter aside.

It was a mon practice among sects and factions to favor talented disciples.

After all, every faction understood the importance of nurturing and supporting their brightest talents.

Mistreating such promising disciples often resulted in betrayal later on, a situation no faction wanted to face.

The little fool received preferential treatment, and his older brothers, cunning as they were, managed to conceal their true strength upon entering the Nine Swords Sect.

Their performance appeared average, hinting that they were deliberately masking their abilities.

Considering the talents of Skylar Neal, Harvey Lay, and Jonah Shaw, it was evident they could have easily outmatched him if they had revealed their full potential.

Moreover, Skylar’s Neal family bloodline was no less formidable than his brother Braydon Neal’s.

Skylar’s fusion of eight techniques into the ninth, slaying immortal, was a testament to his prowess. This ninth skill seemed tailor-made to counter Braydon’s banished immortals.

Among the Northern Army sons, it was Braydon, the elder brother, who instilled the most fear.

Despite the little fool’s timid nature, he harbored a desire for confrontation.

The little fool had been on the receiving end of Braydon’s lessons since childhood.

Luke adamantly refused to ply with the demand to go to the Law Enforcement Hall.

The green-robed man’s expression darkened.

“Tie him up!” he ordered, his voice cold.

“Why are you tying me up?” Luke protested.

He believed he had only eaten two chickens!

Little did he know that these spirit chickens had been nurtured for decades, intended for medicinal refinement.

All of them were ruined by the little fool’s gluttony.

The green-robed man saw no point in arguing further.

He knew that reasoning with the stubborn Iron Fool was futile.

Last time, with fewer people from the Law Enforcement Hall, this stubborn individual remained unyielding, even proudly admitting to consuming two chickens.

What could be done?

With a larger crowd present today, the green-robed man opted for negotiation.

If strength could secure a victory, so be it. If not, he had to resort to diplomacy.

This was consistent with the little fool’s modus operandi.

Raising his hand, the green-robed man hurled a yellow rope—an intermediate saint weapon known as the Immortal Binding Rope.

As the rope ensnared the little fool, he panicked and bolted like a wild dog unchained.

Unbeknownst to him, one end of the Immortal Binding Rope was secured around his body while the other end was held by the green-robed man.

Luke, propelled forward, dragging along the green-robed man.

The green-robed man, initially in pursuit, found himself being pulled along the ground instead.

He was utterly flabbergasted; the little fool’s strength was truly formidable.

Even the Immortal Binding Rope failed to subdue him.

The motion caused by the little fool darting around the mountain soon attracted the attention of many.

The overbearing Jonah Shaw demanded as he soared into the air. “Luke, what’s the matter?”

“They’re trying to kill me, Jonah!” Luke exclaimed, voicing his grievance.

Jonah pivoted swiftly and advanced, his fist resembling a dragon as the seven-star sanguine robe adorning his body faintly glowed—a prelude to the Sanguine Seven-Star Technique.

“Release him!” Jonah’s cold mand cut through the air.

“What?” The green-robed man sensed an impending threat.

Reacting swiftly, he relinquished his hold and pivoted to confront Jonah with a palm strike.

Their collision reverberated with a resounding bang.

Jonah remained posed, his hands clasped behind his back as he hovered in midair.

Blood trickled from the green-robed man’s lip, and his right arm tingled with numbness—a sign of internal organ damage.

“What immense strength!” The azure-robed man couldn’t help but express his astonishment.

Jonah appeared to be merely at the extreme divine realm, yet his bat prowess surpassed expectations.

He was evidently on par with the little fool.

Silently, a chill crept down the green-robed man’s spine.

Meanwhile, the white-robed wolf, Hendrix Bailey, brandished a sword in his left hand.

“Release the Immortal Binding Rope,” he stated coolly, pointing his sword at the green-robed man’s back.

“You!” The green-robed man’s apprehension spiked.

He hadn’t anticipated someone lurking behind him.

Reluctantly, he yielded and released the Immortal Binding Rope, spurred by the unmistakable aura of Hendrix’s lethal intent.

Jonah and the others were unwilling to let harm befall Luke.

Having acpanied them into the Spirit Sea, his safety was paramount.

If any harm came to him, how would they justify it to Braydon when they eventually crossed paths?

Skylar, concealed behind a ghost mask, spoke calmly. “Luke, e with me.”

“Wait! You are all outer disciples. You should be familiar with the sect rules!” The green-robed man’s expression soured. He hadn’t anticipated so many interveners.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement team had arrived, maintaining a vigilant stance.

A collective resistance could escalate the situation beyond control.

Initially, the issue seemed trivial—merely a case of chicken theft.

It hardly warranted a confrontation with the Law Enforcement Hall.

However, a red-robed elder descended upon Levestor Peak, his eyes ablaze with ire.

Spotting the disturbance, he descended with a furrowed brow. “Who dares to cause such chaos? Have you forgotten the sect’s regulations?”

“Elder Habel!” The green-robed man and his rades immediately bowed in respect.

The elder said sternly, “What’s happening here, Maeve? You’ve always adhered to the sect’s rules. Why the motion?”

“Elder Habel, these outer sect disciples were insubordinate and attacked us,” one of the law enforcement members plained.

“Silence!” Maeve Jagow’s expression darkened.

However, Elder Habel’s gaze was piercing as he scrutinized Luke and the masked figure of Skylar.

With a disdainful snort, he declared, “The sect has its protocols. If the inner and direct disciples transgress, they’ll face punishment. As for you outer disciples, kneel before me!”

A formidable pressure descended, akin to that of an advanced eminent saint.

It bore down on Jonah and his rades like a mountain.

Unwavering, Skylar shielded Luke behind him and confronted the pressure head-on.

Without hesitation, he unleashed eight techniques, melding them into a holy white light brimming with razor-sharp intensity.
