Chapter 2117: A Shocking Gamble Chapter 2117: A Shocking Gamble Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation The sudden voice instantly drew everyone’s attention.

Braydon Neal appeared before them, dressed in tattered clothes.

Wilma Nilles, who had been disheartened moments ago, suddenly widened her beautiful eyes.

“Braydon!” She immediately embraced him, her trembling body reflecting the emotional storm in her heart.

Braydon gently patted her shoulder and spoke softly, “Alright, alright.

Look at me—I’m fine.” “Thank you for your help today.

I will remember this favor,” Braydon said, addressing the others.

“Especially you, Law Enforcement Elder.

I will never forget your kindness.” After offering these polite words, Braydon soared into the sky and disappeared from sight.

“With Braydon’s abilities, he won’t remain in the same world as us in the future,” someone sighed.

“Who wouldn’t agree?

I used to think he was just clinging to Wilma.

Now, it seems like… tsk,” another murmured as the group clicked their tongues in wonder, staring in the direction he had vanished.

The Law Enforcement Elder, meanwhile, was thoughtful.

This young man must be hiding a significant secret.

Back at the Ninth Peak, Braydon released Wilma from his arms.

He looked pensive.

Revealing his strength today was sure to arouse suspicion.

Some might even resort to extreme measures to test him.

He needed to create a reasonable identity to explain the power he had displayed.

Wilma watched him in his daze, her beautiful eyes flickering with a trace of intoxication.

“Braydon.” Her soft call snapped him out of his thoughts.

“I can feel you’re hiding many things in your heart,” she said.

Her next words made Braydon stiffen, his expression darkening slightly.

Had Wilma seen through his identity?

Just as the atmosphere grew tense, Wilma suddenly chuckled.

“Look at how nervous you are,” she teased.

“Don’t worry.

If you don’t tell me, I might not ask.” “Alright, I’ll head back to cultivate.

We’re leaving for the inner sect tomorrow, so don’t forget to wake up early.” With that, Wilma bounced toward Braydon’s attic and entered the cultivation room.

Braydon watched her go, slowly unclenching his fists.

After a long silence, he sighed softly.

“Wilma, I hope you can always stay like this.

“Maybe I can really trust her.” Meanwhile, in her cultivation room, Wilma glanced at the wall and chuckled softly.

“Braydon, that blockhead, is definitely hiding something.” “Could it be related to the sect that was destroyed?

I should find time to investigate this.” The next morning, golden sunlight bathed the mountaintop.

Braydon walked out of the pavilion and sat on a stone bench outside.

His cold gaze rested on a spiritual bird perched nearby, bing its feathers.

“How long do you think that spiritual bird can survive?” A voice suddenly came from behind him.

Braydon turned slightly to see a man with a cold expression.

Though the man was smiling, his presence was terrifying.

“Someone from the inner sect?” “You have sharp eyes,” the cold man remarked, his tone slightly mocking.

“I think it’ll live for three minutes,” Braydon replied abruptly, surprising the man.

“How about a bet, then?” the man suggested with a smirk.

“Your life.” Braydon’s calm tone made the man pause, speechless for a moment.

This Braydon was exactly as rumored—ruthless and cold.

The cold man regained his posure.

Though Braydon was asking for his name, even he dared not provoke him.

However, remembering the promises he’d received, the cold man steadied himself.

“Junior Brother Braydon, no need to gamble your life.

Let’s bet an arm instead,” he proposed.

Braydon scoffed.

“In the cultivation world, it’s kill or be killed.

If you’re not even prepared to stake your life, you’d better leave.” “What?” The man’s anger flared.

“Braydon, you’re not even an inner disciple, yet you dare act so arrogantly toward me?” “Isn’t it just a gamble of life?

I agree,” the man snapped.

“But I’m warning you—I have someone backing me.

If you lose, not even Elder Wilma can protect you.” “Good,” Braydon replied, nodding in satisfaction.

“Now you’re a man.” “Let’s begin.

I bet it won’t die in three minutes.

If it lives longer or shorter than that, I’ll give you my life as a concession.” The cold man’s expression darkened with rage.

He loathed being looked down upon, especially by Braydon.

In the past, anyone who underestimated him—like his master—had met a grisly end.

The two of them focused on the spiritual bird.

It continued grooming itself, oblivious to the looming danger.

Suddenly, a red figure darted toward it—a level one transcendent Scarlet Flame Eagle.

The spiritual bird panicked, trying to escape, but the eagle’s claws locked onto it.

Just as it seemed doomed, a black shadow descended from the sky, slamming into the eagle.

It was Braydon’s night crow!

The Scarlet Flame Eagle screeched, its body bursting into flames to drive the night crow away.

But a black aura surged from the night crow, smothering the flames entirely.

The cold man’s gaze hardened as he turned to Braydon.

“Junior Brother Braydon, isn’t this a little… entertaining?”
