Lin Chuan paid no attention to those fair-weather friends. He walked straight out of the City Committee building alone. The security guard was astonished and said, "What's gotten into him? He doesn't even say hello, acting like he's all that? Damn, isn't he just a pretty boy?"
Back at Changlin Community, the factory was desolate. Lin Chuan walked in, sat down alone, and lay on a machine, starting to recall every bit of his ti with Tang Yung. He t her for the first ti because of the silver-gun robbery case. Later, when he went to the job market and coincidentally t Tang Yung on her inspection, he ended up at the City Committee to beco her personal driver. The little incidents that followed, unintentionally peeking at her changing clothes, dining together, their first passionate kiss, their first embrace...
It was as if these events had just taken place yesterday.
"Take advantage of the emptiness now, move quickly." A sneaky voice ca from outside.
Lin Chuan was startled, quickly sat up, and saw that Liu Jianjun and his despicable crew were creeping in with workers, apparently planning to haul away those machines and then sell them. It was dim inside the factory, with Liu Jianjun holding a briefcase, and several workers wearing helts were preparing to climb up to the roof to open the skylight, then use the crane to move the machines.
"Hey!" Lin Chuan jumped down from the machine and angrily shouted, "Who let these thieves in here?"
"Oh my God." Liu Jianjun was so scared that he dropped his briefcase on the floor and collapsed there.
This showed how formidable Lin Chuan's reprimand was; he almost peed his pants. When Liu Jianjun realized it was Lin Chuan, he quickly asked, "Lin Chuan, is that you? You damn near gave a heart attack!"
"What are you trying to do?" Lin Chuan rebuked, "You think you can just haul off the machinery while there's no one here?"
"Holy shit, what are you doing here?" Liu Jianjun was infuriated and said, "Get the hell out of my way, I need to get these machines out today."
"I'd like to see who dares!" Lin Chuan was fuming with rage, crossed his arms and stood firm in front of Liu Jianjun,
Liu Jianjun's eyes darted around as he said, "Chuanzi, we're classmates after all, right? Give so face, will you?"
"How can you still have the nerve to say we're classmates?" Lin Chuan sneered, "Sneaking around selling off communal property, colluding with developers, disposing of our land at a low price, taking kickbacks, I'm really ashad to have a classmate like you."
"You're spouting nonsense." Liu Jianjun, like a rooster riled up, stood up angrily glaring at Lin Chuan.
"You know whether I'm talking nonsense or not," Lin Chuan said coldly, "Anyway, you're not taking any machines from here today."
"Are we moving them or not?" The crane operator, getting impatient, said, "I've got other places to be. If you're not moving them, stop wasting my ti."
"Move, move!" Liu Jianjun imdiately nodded.
"Who dares!" Lin Chuan bellowed.
Just then, Zhou Kai and his transport truck rumbled in from outside. Seeing more people arrive, Liu Jianjun found it even harder to be bullish.
"Damn it, Liu Gou, you still dare to co?!" Zhou Kai, covered in dust, leaped down from the truck.
"Who are you calling nas!" Liu Jianjun roared.
"I'm talking about you," Zhou Kai said coldly, "Calling you nas? That's putting it mildly. You think I won't beat you up?"
As he spoke, Zhou Kai pulled out two hand axes from his belt, and Liu Jianjun scurried away in fright. The bunch of workers and the crane operator ran off just as quickly. Liu Jianjun had never expected, after sneaking around and scouting for several days, getting the routine down pat, and knowing they would be absent in the afternoon, that today, the mont he made his move, he would run into Lin Chuan. It was as if he was cursed. Not only that, but he also had to compensate the crane operator with an extra two hundred for the fuel cost.
"This is infuriating." Liu Jianjun, with his briefcase in hand, got into his beloved BMW, and scuttled away.
By the ti Zhou Kai and the others ca out to chase, Liu Jianjun was already long gone. Zhou Kai watched Liu Jianjun's retreating figure in the distance, unable to help but curse, "Liu Gou, if you have the guts, don't run, otherwise I'll finish you off."
Now, Zhou Kai and his people were able to make money, and they were earning just as much as Liu Jianjun, so they were even less courteous when dealing with Liu Jianjun.
"Brother Chuanzi, it's good that you were here," Lu Dapao said, patting off the dust on his chest, "If no one had been around, that damned man might actually have taken the machines away."
"Exactly," Zhou Kai nodded, "Looks like we need to station a few people here next ti. We nearly had a disaster."
"Damn it," Lu Dapao cursed, "For these few broken machines, do we really need to keep watch? That seems like a waste of manpower. Besides, right now we really don't have the excess manpower to do such things."
"What can we do then?" Zhou Kai said helplessly.
Lin Chuan stood aside, smoking a cigarette, sowhat distracted.
"Brother Chuanzi, what do you think we should do?" Lu Dapao asked from the side.
"Whatever." Lin Chuan, with a cigarette in his mouth, walked outside and said, "Deal with it the way you want to."
Everyone was stunned, staring at Lin Chuan's retreating figure.
"What's wrong with Brother Chuan?" Zhou Kai asked.
"I don't know, he seems to be in a bad mood," Lu Dapao hurriedly said.
"This..." Zhou Kai hesitated, saying awkwardly, "It seems so, but his career has been going smoothly recently, how can he be in a bad mood? Could it be because sothing else happened? Or did Brother Chuan run into so other troubles?"
"I really don't know," Lu Dapao shook his head.
A group of people gathered in the factory, all sowhat puzzled, not understanding why Lin Chuan's mood suddenly changed.
Today, Lin Chuan was in a really bad mood, perhaps the worst in his life. He also did not understand why he was feeling so down. After a long thought, he finally realized, he was jealous. Seeing the woman he likes arm in arm with another man, and even declaring in public that this is her boyfriend. The feeling was really uncomfortable, as if a piece of cheese that belonged to himself ended up in soone else's hands.
Lin Chuan was very sad and heartbroken, these feelings ca involuntarily, no matter where he went, the emotions would follow; regardless of whether he stood or lay down, these feelings were inseparable. This made Lin Chuan unable to control his emotions.
Drink!
At that mont, Lin Chuan had the thought of getting himself drunk in his mind.
The night fell, and after the night had set, the world of night owls began. Bar Street was still the sa bustling bar, and the last ti he was here, Lin Chuan didn't rember the bar's na. This ti, he intentionally looked up at the neon sign above his head: Night Color Bar.
Not a bad na.
A faint smile appeared on Lin Chuan's lips. The bar under the night would only open after the curtain of night had fallen. Lin Chuan, with a mysterious smile, slowly walked into the bar. The sound was overwhelming, like the fist of a giant, and as soon as he entered, a powerful force seed to want to tear him apart. The lighting was dim, with colorful lights flickering in the dance floor, under such ambiguous light, it was inevitable to stimulate the secretion of hormones in the human body.
In a corner of the sofa, a long-haired man was solving his problems on the spot with a drunk woman. The woman was completely inebriated, clueless that the man had removed the safety shorts under her skirt and was now pressing on her.
Every day, there are won who co to the bar to drown their sorrows for various reasons. Most of these won co to get drunk or vent for various reasons. Three or even four out of ten won would be settled by the hunters lurking in the bar. The next morning they would wake up only to find themselves abandoned in so unknown hotel, or even a ssy street-side motel, with evidences of the previous night's madness left on the bed.
After Lin Chuan walked in, it was the sa guy selling drugs as last ti.
"Handso, wanna skate?" The man wore a floral shirt with a fanny pack around his waist. When he looked up, he was surprised, "Yo, handso, it's you?"
Lin Chuan ignored these peddlers in the bar and went straight to the bar: "Give a bottle of Charming Blue."
"Sorry, we don't have it anymore," the bartender flatly rejected Lin Chuan's request.
"Isn't that a bottle right there on display?" Lin Chuan recognized the drink, having a deep impression from last ti, and he had made a point to notice it when he left.
"That's Miss Fang's drink," the bartender replied, "Not for sale."
"I'll pay double the price," Lin Chuan slapped his bank card down on the table.
"Without Miss Fang's permission, I really can't sell it," the bartender shrugged helplessly, "You can try sothing else."
Having drunk Charming Blue last ti, it left a deep impression on him. He liked that feeling of being reborn from the ashes. He hoped that this bottle of drink could bring him a different mood, instead of this pessimistic, despairing feeling. He hoped Charming Blue could help him get out of the current predicant.
However, hearing that the drink was not for sale, Lin Chuan felt sowhat disappointed.
"Give it to him," suddenly, a pleasant voice ca from behind.
The bartender lifted his head and said, "Sister Fang, you... you're back?"
Lin Chuan turned his head to look at Fang Yuan and said, "I'm willing to pay double the price for your drink."
"No need," Fang Yuan was still dressed in a sexy outfit, a black strap top revealing two proud peaks and a deep canyon that could instantly kill any man's eyes, even causing their nosebleed. Her graceful figure and perky rear could make countless n bleed on the spot. Fang Yuan's face showed a mysterious smile, "Consider this drink a gift of friendship from to you."
Although Lin Chuan was in a bad mood, he still maintained a trace of vigilance and soberness, looking at Fang Yuan with suspicion, "Last ti I played a trick on you, you are still this nice to ?"
