"Protect Amu Han well, I'm heading upstairs." Lin Chuan grabbed his gun and quickly dashed upstairs. His speed was astonishingly fast, covering a great distance in the blink of an eye.
The group watched Lin Chuan moving so swiftly over the ruins, one soldier exclaid, "His... his speed is incredible, much faster than our instructor."
"My God, is he a soldier too?" soone nearby asked.
"Yes!" Song Wen nodded hurriedly, "Lin Chuan was in the military, and he's very skilled. With him here, I believe we have a chance to defeat them."
"Very good." The crowd nodded.
Lin Chuan swiftly climbed onto a building half-destroyed by an explosion, crouching behind a massive concrete block. The building he was on seed ready to collapse at any mont. Lin Chuan's lips curled into a strange smile.
He crouched behind the concrete block, observing from a distance the silhouettes of the soldiers gradually approaching.
Bang bang...
Lin Chuan shot quickly, and two soldiers fell imdiately. Others dove to the ground, thinking there was a sniper in their midst.
After shooting, Lin Chuan quickly relocated; the spot was exposed, so he had to move, otherwise he could easily be killed by the enemy's barrage. After a period of silence, the enemy regained their composure and began firing at the spot where Lin Chuan had just been hiding.
Ratatat...
After a savage burst of gunfire, the enemy erged from behind cover and began moving rapidly.
Lin Chuan already moved from the second floor to the third, his gun sights locked onto several targets. As the enemy drew near, he fired.
Bang bang!
Two crisp shots, two more soldiers fell, alerting their peers once more.
Just as they prepared for a fierce assault, suddenly, several soldiers beside Amu Han launched a counterattack. Firepower exchanged, though Amu Han's soldiers were evidently outmatched. However, their presence was rely to divert enemy attention, thus shielding Lin Chuan.
Lin Chuan relocated from the east to the west side of the third floor. He hid deep at the west side behind cover, and swiftly fired at the enemy. Several more soldiers fell, causing panic among the governnt troops.
"Bad news, they have a sniper."
"Damn it, take out their sniper first."
The governnt soldiers shouted frantically, chaos ensued among the crowd. Once the formation is disrupted, weaknesses are easily exposed. Five soldiers next to Amu Han imdiately engaged fiercely with the enemy.
Though the enemy had over twenty n, Lin Chuan's sniping had already taken down seven or eight. In the recent exchange, another two fell. Losing nearly half of their n threw the enemy into chaos and fear.
Lin Chuan swiftly jumped from the third floor, rolled upon landing, and charged forward. He decided to circle behind the enemy and launch an ambush.
With Lin Chuan's own strength, he could single-handedly eliminate all enemies. Moreover, Amu Han's soldiers diverted enemy fire, leaving Lin Chuan virtually without pressure to annihilate them.
Lin Chuan swiftly crossed a stretch of ruins, circled behind the enemy.
Ratatat...
Suddenly, Lin Chuan raised his rifle, unleashed a wild spray of bullets towards the enemy.
The frenzy of gunfire left the enemy stunned. Instantly, more than half of the dozen soldiers collapsed. The remaining quickly turned to retaliate, but surrounded from both sides, they soon crumbled. Amu Han's soldiers, emboldened, wildly attacked the enemy, forcing them into retreat.
The remaining forces fled quickly, leaving behind over ten corpses.
"Lin Chuan, you're practically a War God descended!" Amu Han exclaid excitedly watching Lin Chuan.
"Amu Han, we must retreat promptly," Lin Chuan panted, having exhausted much energy from the intense chase.
"Alright!" Amu Han nodded hurriedly, "I know a place, I have a troop there, it's in Babylon. We can temporarily retreat there."
"Okay!" Lin Chuan nodded.
After all, the other side was only a team of more than twenty people, and there were still over a hundred people behind them. If all these hundred people ca over, it would probably be overwhelming. If it were just myself, it would be fine, but having to protect a few people clearly was too much.
Lin Chuan's lips curled up into a peculiar smile, and he said coldly, "Retreat as quickly as possible."
Soon, the group of people imdiately started their retreat.
Amu Han and his group traveled on foot, with a few soldiers opening the way in the front and two soldiers covering the back, while Lin Chuan stayed close to Amu Han's side. After a fast march of more than half an hour, they finally reached a military encampnt where a few hundred loyal followers of Amu Han were stationed.
Seeing Amu Han arrive, they quickly rushed up to et him: "Leader Amu Han, what happened to you..."
"We were ambushed..." Amu Han briefly recounted the events, and upon hearing it, the other side turned pale with fright. He quickly pressed his hand against his chest, bowed towards the location of the divine spirit, and loudly recited: "Thank you, Muhammad, thank you, Almighty, for your protection..."
After entering the house, the lighting was not good; it was already past one in the morning. The house was dimly lit. There was a fort outside with soldiers on guard. Soldiers were also stationed on the roof for defense.
Once inside, Amu Han hurriedly ordered a midnight snack to be prepared.
Hand-grabbed mutton and curry rice. Although Lin Chuan was not accustod to Iraqi food, the roasted whole lamb suited his taste. Lin Chuan, Song Jia, and the brothers sat inside, sitting up straight. Having experienced the thrilling events, the Song Jia brothers were still sowhat shaken.
Lin Chuan, however, appeared calm.
"Mr. Amu Han, thank you for the good wine and at," Lin Chuan raised his glass.
Iraqis like to sit on carpets, with a carpet laid in the middle, laden with lots of food. A roasted lamb was placed in the center, surrounded by plenty of rice and so Iraqi dishes. Amu Han smiled and said, "Mr. Lin Chuan, I didn't get to show you my respect before. This ti, I want to express my gratitude."
"Haha..." Lin Chuan laughed heartily, "You are my client, I must ensure your safety; otherwise, how can I get paid?"
"At the very least, you saved !" Amu Han laughed, "So, I must toast to you with this glass of wine."
"Alright!" Lin Chuan nodded, "Co, let's drink."
Then, the two toasted.
Lin Chuan's lips curled up into a peculiar smile. He reached out, grabbed a leg of lamb, then twisted it off, saying, "Mr. Amu Han, I'm quite hungry, so pardon my impoliteness."
"Please, don't be polite," Amu Han quickly said, "Feel free to eat whatever you want, drink whatever you need. I never treat my esteed guests poorly. Lin Chuan, you are my savior; if it weren't for you today, the five or six soldiers under couldn't possibly protect ."
"Haha..." Lin Chuan laughed heartily, "But that is what I should do. As long as Mr. Amu Han pays on ti, everything else is fine."
Amu Han chuckled and then said, "Lin Chuan, from now on, you are a distinguished guest of mine, a close friend of Amu Han."
"I don't deserve it!" Lin Chuan humbly said, "Mr. Amu Han is the faith of all the people in southern Iraq; I wouldn't dare be so rude."
"Haha, Lin Chuan, you are too modest," Amu Han laughed, "I understand; it is just the politeness you Chinese people show when respecting soone, but here, it is actually considered impolite."
"Since Mr. Amu Han doesn't mind, I'll gladly have you as a friend," Lin Chuan smiled, "In the future, we will be not only business partners but also very good friends."
"Great!" Amu Han quickly raised his glass, saying, "My cup contains only water, but that does not diminish the friendship between us."
For Lin Chuan, Amu Han made an exception by letting people bring so wine for Lin Chuan to drink. This was already the most Amu Han could do. Alcohol is not popular in Iraq because, due to religious beliefs, their sect forbids drinking.
"Good." Lin Chuan raised his glass.
In Iraq, Amu Han is quite a figure. Being able to make friends with soone like him is considered fortunate. To be honest, Lin Chuan seems to have no friends in the Middle East. Now that he can make a friend like Amu Han, at least it will be more convenient for him to act in this part of the Middle East in the future.
Amu Han truly regarded Lin Chuan as a friend. Although Amu Han's sect has always been sowhat repulsive to other sects, he genuinely considered Lin Chuan a good friend. Lin Chuan's deanor, personal strength, and charisma were enough to show that Lin Chuan was a remarkable person. So, Amu Han considered Lin Chuan a good friend. Although there might be so utilization, there was more appreciation.
Under the influence of alcohol, the Song Jia brothers gradually recovered. The two drank heavily and ate large pieces of roasted mutton, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Sprinkled with so cumin, it was really fragrant. The taste was very crispy.
"Lin Chuan, this roasted mutton is really sothing," Song Wen excitedly said, "It's much better than the roasted mutton we have back ho."
"Of course!" Song Wu nodded, "This mutton is all from authentic mountain goats, not dostic sheep. Dostic sheep at isn't as tasty as goat at. Also, there are so differences in the way they roast the mutton here compared to back ho. So, the taste is different."
