The Supreme Martial Expert of the Female CEO Chapter 955: 955 Sacrificial Master
Chapter 955: Chapter 955 Sacrificial Master
Following behind the giant leader, Ling Feng discovered that their Giant Tribe was located halfway up a mountain. From a distance, the mountainside appeared to be filled with stone houses constructed from massive boulders, resembling the palaces of ancient Divine Spirits.
“By the way, outsider, I didn’t get a chance to ask your na!” the giant leader said.
“I am Ling Feng. May I ask how the leader should be addressed?” Ling Feng replied.
“You can call Shi Kuang!” The giant leader chuckled. “Ling Feng, wait here for a mont. I’ll go back and report to the Sacrificial Master…”
Before he could finish speaking, a giant erged from the tribe: “Leader, the Sacrificial Master has requested the esteed guest to proceed to the Sacrificial Altar!”
Shi Kuang slapped his own forehead and said sowhat sheepishly, “The Sacrificial Master has foreseen all of this! How foolish of —I was just thinking of reporting. Ling Feng, follow !”
Ling Feng followed behind Shi Kuang. Within the Giant Tribe, there were many giants moving about. Ling Feng looked around curiously and asked, “Shi Kuang, have you always lived here?”
Shi Kuang nodded. “That’s right. Ever since I can rember, we’ve been here. Why?”
Ling Feng hesitated before asking, “If you know about outsiders like us, haven’t you ever thought about leaving?”
This had always puzzled Ling Feng. Logically, these giants were aware of the existence of outsiders, so why had the outside world never discovered that a hidden Giant Tribe existed within Stonehenge? It didn’t make sense!
Shi Kuang finally looked surprised. “Leave? Why would we leave? The Sacrificial Master said that the outside world is very dangerous. Our Giant Tribe can only be safe here!”
Ling Feng was speechless. “You really revere the Sacrificial Master, don’t you? Just who is this Sacrificial Master?”
With a fervent expression, Shi Kuang declared, “The Sacrificial Master is, of course, the Sacrificial Master. In the Giant Tribe, the word of the Sacrificial Master is supre and unquestionable!”
Though a sense of unease lingered in Ling Feng’s heart, seeing Shi Kuang so fanatical, he suppressed his own doubts.
He knew that if he questioned the so-called Sacrificial Master at this mont, Shi Kuang might imdiately turn against him and attack!
“I wonder who this Sacrificial Master truly is, to have brainwashed these people to such an extent!” Ling Feng thought darkly.
After walking for an unknown length of ti, Shi Kuang stopped. “Here we are—this is the residence of the Sacrificial Master, the Sacrificial Altar!”
Speaking softly, Shi Kuang advised, “No one but the Sacrificial Master is allowed to approach here. I’ll be leaving now, but I must remind you—do not be disrespectful to the Sacrificial Master!”
Shi Kuang then bowed deeply to the Sacrificial Altar before turning and leaving.
Only Ling Feng remained. He looked curiously at the Sacrificial Altar, which bore a striking resemblance to the Mayan Pyramid in South Arica from his mories. “This is where the Sacrificial Master lives?”
Ling Feng frowned slightly and didn’t imdiately enter. Instead, he sat cross-legged on the ground to rest.
An hour passed like this. Suddenly, the doors to the Sacrificial Altar opened, and an ethereal yet aged voice called out, “Outsider, enter!”
Ling Feng smirked faintly at the Sacrificial Altar, raising his voice as he said, “Elder, whatever it is, we might as well discuss it like this. I don’t see anyone else around, and I’d hate to accidentally offend you…”
Before Ling Feng could finish speaking, a golden-armored warrior stepped out from the Sacrificial Altar. At a glance, Ling Feng imdiately discerned that this golden-armored warrior was nothing but a puppet!
“If you want answers to your doubts, then co inside,” the voice continued, “Being cautious is a virtue. However, let be frank—since you entered Stonehenge, no matter how outstanding your abilities are, you are but a plaything in my hands!”
“Is that so?” Ling Feng shrugged indifferently. “I guess I could still try to fight back…”
With a swift motion, before Ling Feng could react, the golden-armored warrior had already appeared by his side. The warrior’s longsword flashed past Ling Feng’s face, cutting off a strand of hair that fell onto his forehead.
Ling Feng’s expression changed dramatically. The golden-armored warrior’s speed had been far too fast—he hadn’t even been able to react! If the warrior had wanted to kill him, he would likely already be a corpse!
The thought made Ling Feng’s face appear grim. It seed the Sacrificial Master’s words were indeed true: here, he had no chance of resisting.
“Young friend, co inside! Don’t worry, I harbor no malice toward you,” the voice said again, this ti with a hint of amusent. “I imagine you understand by now?”
Ling Feng took a deep breath, stood up from the ground, and walked toward the Sacrificial Altar.
Passing through the altar’s doors, Ling Feng saw what lay within. An elder wearing a mask sat calmly on a mat up ahead. Upon seeing Ling Feng, the elder nodded slightly and said, “A condensed aura and refined physique—you truly are an extraordinary martial talent!”
Ling Feng noticed a mat in front of the Sacrificial Master and sat down unceremoniously. “Sacrificial Master, I imagine you called here for a specific reason?”
Thinking about everything that had happened along the way, Ling Feng vaguely felt that his arrival at Stonehenge seed orchestrated, as though an invisible hand had manipulated events. Ling Feng couldn’t shake an intense dislike for this kind of arrangent.
To Ling Feng’s surprise, the Sacrificial Master actually nodded. “Indeed, you guessed correctly! In truth, it’s all been part of my plan.”
Ling Feng’s voice deepened. “What is your goal?”
“Haha, before asking that, don’t you have any questions of your own?” The Sacrificial Master chuckled softly. “Haven’t you wondered why I was able to design your arrival here?”
Ling Feng shook his head. “It’s unnecessary. Since I’m already here, that ans you succeeded. What I care about now is your reason for bringing here!”
The Sacrificial Master’s eyes glead with satisfaction, though he did not respond directly. Instead, he posed a question, “Ling Feng, do you believe in destiny?”
Ling Feng laughed. “The concept of destiny is far too elusive, and destiny itself is full of variables. To discuss whether I believe in destiny is pointless. Comparatively, I have far more faith in my own abilities!”
The Sacrificial Master smiled faintly. “Destiny is indeed elusive, but every world has its own thread of fate. If you can grasp that thread, you can break free of destiny’s shackles and glimpse the future direction!”
“And so?” Ling Feng smiled. “Are you trying to tell that you’ve grasped the world’s thread of fate and can foresee destiny?”
The Sacrificial Master nodded. “Not entirely accurate, but close enough! Though I’ve managed to grasp a wisp of the thread of fate, the destiny I perceive is still shrouded in chaos. However, in that chaos, the one thing I can see clearly—is you!”
