anwhile, in the private wing of Madam Xu and Shen Deng, a secret eting was being held. It had been moved from the living room, to prevent Liwu or any of her people eavesdropping. They sat in a circle, like conspirators plotting a bank heist.
Shen Deng who had been called back urgently cleared his throat. "I ca as soon as soon as I got the news. Did Liwu really almost discover that Weijun is not Weifeng?"
His sons nodded. "I think she could be beginning to suspect that sothing is off. We should not forget that she is a police officer. She is clever. If she starts adding the clues together, she will figure it out eventually."
Shen Biao smirked, folding her arms. "So what if she discovers the truth? If she was as clever as everyone thinks she is, she would not have married into our family in the first place. If she knows that she married the wrong brother, maybe she will be clever enough to leave on her own."
That was when the unexpected happened.
The little grand aunt Yuening marched across the room with the authority of a general. She climbed onto a chair next to Shen Biao, raised her tiny hand, and delivered a slap so crisp that it echoed like a firecracker.

Mingxuan cleared his throat. "We could distract her with food, Every ti she asks questions, we hand her sothing delicious."
Shen Deng shook his head. "She is suspicious of us. If we hand her food, she will think that we want to poison her."
Nobody noticed a sulking Shen Biao slipping out of the room.
Grand aunt Yuening leaned forward. "We could change the na on the marriage certificate from Weifeng to Weijun. If the truth ever cos out, we claim that Weifeng had a panic attack at the last mont, just as it happened with the original bride and her family did a replacent. We claim that we forgot to tell everyone the truth because we were in shock."
Shen Deng muttered, "Or we just tell her the truth. This marriage was for an alliance. What alliance can be better than the master of the city himself and Tai Alix’s first born child and daughter. Sincerely, it is the best match, even Sister Bai said so."
"And risk Liwu’s bad luck raining on us?" His wife squeaked. "I refuse to have more soup landing on my face and chandeliers exploding."
Yuening tapped the ground. "I hate to say it but there is a foolproof plan. We just help the two fall in love. By the ti Liwu learns the truth, she will readily forgive him and us. Let’s be realistic, the only one in this family that truly hates Tai Alix and her family is Shen Biao."
Yalin shook her head. "No, I don’t like them too. They did not help us with Han Ce."
Shen Mingxuan snorted. "Have you studied the history of where this feud started? Our ancestors were part of the seven families that ruled over system hosts and the bureau. Their bad leadership led to Tai Alix’s revolution. If you think about it, we are not innocent in this matter. Besides, Han Ce never got his hands dirty directly so even when the Bureau arrested him three tis, they could not hold him for long."
Shen Yuening nodded. This was not a fabricated history, it was facts and there was evidence to prove all this. "If the marriage between Liwu and Weijun works out, it will be good for us. Our family can expand beyond One city and enter Beijing and other cities in the country.
With their backing, when the governnt takes back One city, which we all know it will eventually, we will not be left out with nothing."
"And we will not be afraid of Han Ce." Shen Deng added. "Tai Alix or Liwu will find him for us because Liwu will be a genuine mber of our Shen family. Grand aunt is right, there are more benefits to this marriage than disadvantages."
A lot of heads nodded.
"We just need to keep Shen Biao and all other schers away, especially that rotten fish Manman." Yuening slapped the table and winced. "I really don’t know what Biao was thinking by bringing that woman back. Liwu was right to call her a shared wife."
Soone giggled.
Yuening focused her eyes on Madam Xu. "You should stop provoking Liwu. I don’t care how much you like rotten fish, I don’t want to see her in this house.
