Firstly, Jing Yan was just an alchemist from Lanqu County City. Secondly, Jing Yan was too young; being a Fifth Rank Alchemist in his twenties was extrely rare in Pill Country.
If it was as Bai Lan said, Jing Yan would definitely show his true colors in the second challenge. Because the second challenge involved Identifying Pills, and that was much harder than dicine Identification. During dicine Identification, even if it’s a rare Spirit Grass, as long as you have seen it once by chance, you could generally identify it. But Identifying Pills was much more difficult because there are many types of Elixirs, and their appearances are not very distinct.
Though there are differences in size and color, there are simply too many types of Elixirs. Any color of Elixir has a vast number of variants. To rely identify an Elixir by appearance is impossible.
The difficulty of Identifying Pills is much greater than that of dicine Identification.
Given that the difficulty of dicine Identification in this Alchemy Conference was already high, Identifying Pills definitely wouldn’t be easy.
