As the Second Born leapt high into the air, coming to attack us with deadly force, Tesa spared it only a short, casual glance and it got shredded instantly by so unknown, invisible power that tore through its body like paper.
"Okay, I don’t know what is going on," I looked down at them, noticing how their eyes were sparkling with clear and sudden reverence and adoration, "and I can’t seem to hurt these guys much. But their weakness is in their neck and chest."
"Awwwwwn," Tera whined cutely, as dark tentacles suddenly appeared from nowhere and wrapped tightly around the Third Born, squeezing it into sothing horrible and twisted beyond recognition, "But I wanted us to have sex again... I miss you already."
"Why?! Can’t you see we’re fighting?" I asked, my voice filled with exasperation at this completely new version of them that I had never seen before.
Sohow... I kind of missed the ones that were rude and insulting now, at least those were more predictable.
"Ah," Tera made a flushed face, her cheeks turning pink, "Masochist. But I do not mind abusing you once in a while... you slly swine."
Tsk. I forgot she can read minds!
And that was way too harsh compared to your earlier insults that were at least sowhat playful.
Ah, I just got an idea!
Why don’t I take advantage of this situation right now while I still can?
"Tera, Tesa..." I began carefully, trying to sound convincing, "If we finish this battle quickly, we can have lots of sex..."
"..." They both stared at emotionlessly for a long mont, their expressions completely blank. "I an, you will do it whether you like it or not. Co up with a better reward!"

Sohow, I managed to convince them after all, and they agreed to fight alongside without any further complaints or conditions.
I was still a bit weirded out by their clinginess.

Tesa breathed, glancing at the titans, "Fairylynch is in serious trouble right now, we understand, and it is only natural that we fight to protect our kingdom. Whether there is a reward waiting afterward, or not, does not matter at all to us in this mont..."

"Indeed. These Titans are completely abnormal; they get noticeably more powerful and dangerous with every single hit we give them, no matter how hard we strike."
Tera and Tesa reported to respectively, speaking in calm but serious tones while I was hiding— I an, lounging— I an, waiting for them near that thick, winding vine for cover.
"...And you left them there all alone?!" I yelled loudly, my voice rising with disbelief and frustration, "So what? They’re just waiting patiently for you to relay the ssage to first before doing anything else?"
"Actually, yes. We asked them nicely to hold on for a little while, and they agreed without any argunt," Tera calmly replied, her expression remaining completely composed.
What, is she being serious? Her face was serious.
I walked forward a few steps and looked far into the distance to see the titans... actually standing perfectly still, doing absolutely nothing as if they had been paused.
"Eh? Really?! You truly managed to make them listen to you and obey your instructions?!" I asked my tone full of genuine surprise.
Because this was the best news I had heard in a long while.
And it gave a sudden surge of hope that maybe the situation could still be salvaged without too much more chao—
"That was a barefaced lie, Benjamin," Tesa exposed imdiately with a small nod, her voice steady and matter-of-fact, "She is tying their shadows to the ground for now using her innate ability. Incidentally, the small fries are even breaking out of the restraint already and will be free to rampage again in just a little bit."

Now that’s the troubleso Tera I know so well, not that suddenly clinging maiden who had been hugging earlier.
And wait, how dare she lie to with such a perfectly straight face and calm deanor without even blinking?!
But hey! This is bad, this is really bad!
Isabelle has already taken the wounded girls deep into the forest to tend to their injuries carefully and heal them properly with her skills.

And she had believed every single word I said without any doubt, taking the entire group of fairies away with her for safety.
This left currently standing here with just Tera and Tesa, who are suddenly so lazy and completely not willing to work hard for the sake of their own kingdom.
They’re just clinging tightly to my arms on both sides and acting all lovey-dovey and affectionate all of a sudden as if nothing dangerous was happening around us.
Does being older than mortal existence do this kind of stuff to you?
So what counts as true danger to them?
And if those guys break free from their shadow trap completely, they will co straight here looking for blood.
