Now reading: Chapter 52: Shameless Catalina from The Temporary Boyfriend, a Romance novel by SaraAkua.

Catalina was wearing a nightgown... if you could call it that. It was completely see through, and it hugged her curves perfectly.

"What the fuck are you doing in my room?" Julian asked looking unimpressed.

Catalina leaned back, a small smile on her face. "Is that any way to talk to your fiancée?"

"My fiancée," Julian replied. He didn’t move from the doorway. "You need to leave, so I can dress up."

Catalina rose from his bed slowly. She let the silk robe slip slightly off one shoulder, a confident smirk on her lips.

"The wedding is only months away, Julian."

"Which wedding?"

"The one our fathers arranged. Your mother already treats like a daughter. Why keep up this act of the distant bachelor?"

Julian took a slow sip of his wine. He looked exhausted. "If my mother wants a daughter so badly, she can adopt you. I have a flight in four hours, and I won’t spend any of that ti with you."

Catalina walked toward him. Her floral perfu was heavy and overwhelming. she reached out to touch his bare chest.

"You’re going back to her, aren’t you?" she whispered. "All this ’work’ is just an excuse to be with Lyvana."

Julian caught her hand before she could touch him. His grip was firm enough to make her wince.

"She’s engaged to be married, Julian," Catalina hissed. "She chose the Vaughn family. Why throw away what we could have for her?"

"Get out of my room, Catalina," Julian repeated. "Before I have the staff escort you out."

Catalina allowed the thin straps of her gown to slip off. The silk gown fell off.

"Julian," she murmured. "Don’t you think we deserve so ti alone?"

Julian didn’t even blink. He took a slow sip of his wine, watching her with a look of pure boredom. It was as if he were watching a bad play rather than a woman trying to offer herself to him.

"You’re pathetic," he said flatly.

Catalina’s face flushed with anger and embarrassnt.

"I am the woman your family chose for you. I am the woman who will be carrying your na."

"You’re the woman my father likes for his own ego," Julian corrected.

"You are mine Julian, you know there is nothing you can do about it, right?"

"Hm, I see. Put your clothes back on and get out. Stop behaving like a common whore."

He turned and walked toward his closet.

Catalina stood frozen for a second, her face twisted in rage. The word whore stung more than any physical blow, especially coming from a man who wouldn’t even grant her the dignity of a glance.

She slowly reached down and snatched the gown from the floor, pulling it back over her body.

"I am your wife, Julian," she spat, her voice shaking with rage. "You can’t run from your legacy."

Julian didn’t stop. He pulled a crisp white shirt from a hanger. "Legacy is just a word my father uses to keep on a leash. I suggest you find a new hobby, Catalina. Being a trophy wife for a man who despises you sounds like a miserable way to spend your twenties."

"You’ll regret this, Julian," she hissed over her shoulder. "I hope the turbulence is as rough as your coldness."

The door slamd shut behind her.

As he began to change, his phone buzzed. A text from Lyvana:

Hey, everything okay?

Julian’s fingers moved swiftly, typing out a response.

Yeah

Just dealing with family stuff.

Finished with Vaughn?

The reply ca a mont later.

Yea, heading ho now with Marco.

The phone rang only once before she picked up.

"Julian?" her voice was soft, but he could hear the underlying exhaustion.

"I don’t like you being there alone, Lyvana. Especially not with the way Mark is acting."

There was a pause on the other end.

"He knows I don’t love him anymore," Lyvana said. "That’s why he’s resorting to threats. I have an idea. I told him to et tomorrow night at my apartnt. I’m going to need a favor."

Julian’s jaw tightened. "What?"

....

Mateo turned left toward the main road.

"Are you sure you want to see him tonight?" he asked.

"I am," Catalina said. "You know he’s the only one who can take care of when I’m this upset."

Before long, the car stopped in front of a small, quiet villa.

"Stay here," she told him. "I should be back in an hour."

Catalina walked to the entrance, knocked once, and stepped inside.

A tall buff looking man stood naked at the window.

"You are two minutes late," he said.

He didn’t turn around. A second man stepped out from the shadows in the corner of the room.

"Strip," the first man commanded.

Catalina did not hesitate. Her hands were steady as she unzipped her dress. She let the fabric fall to the floor and stood naked in the middle of the room. There was no fear in her eyes, only a dark, hungry heat.

The second man walked toward her. He held a heavy, braided leather flogger. He walked in a slow circle around her, his gaze tracing every inch of her skin.

"You’ve been far too independent lately," the first man said, finally turning around. He watched her pupils grow wide as he approached. "You’ve forgotten your place."

"I haven’t," Catalina whispered. She leaned into the touch of the leather as the second man trailed it over her shoulder. A confident smirk played on her lips.

The first man gripped her chin. His thumb pressed firmly into her jaw, forcing her to look up. The man with the flogger stepped directly behind her.

"You want the sting to clear your mind," the man behind her whispered in her ear.

"I want you to make forget everything else," she challenged.

The first strike landed across her shoulders with a sharp crack. Catalina did not cry out. She let out a long, shaky breath of pure relief. The sting felt electric. As the second strike fell, she closed her eyes. A real smile of satisfaction spread across her face.

Before long, one man pulled Catalina toward the edge of a low desk, forcing her chest down against the wood.

Her ass was high in the air, facing the second man. The first man stood behind her, his grip firm on her hips. With one steady movent, he ramd into her from behind.

Catalina let out a sharp gasp, her fingers digging into the mahogany. The second man stepped closer, his eyes locked on hers as he reached out to grip her hair, pulling her head back.

"Is this what you wanted?" the second man whispered.

"Yes," Catalina breathed out, her voice shaky but filled with a dark satisfaction.

Outside, Mateo sat in the car quietly.

The villa was small. The walls were not thick enough to hide the sharp cracks of the leather or the loud sounds of the sex coming from inside.

He wondered why she enjoyed this nonsense. Why did she want sothing that was ant to break her? Although it relaxes her.

To clear his mind, Mateo reached for his phone. The screen lit up his face in the dark car. He did not look at his ssages.

Instead, he opened a saved photo of Lyvana and stared at her face for a long ti.
