That’s the right problem to have," he said.

His System pulsed.

[COLLECTIVE THRESHOLD: REVISED — 6 WEEKS]

[BETWEEN-SPACE RETURN — ACCELERATING]

[NOTE: THE HEALING IS RUNNING FASTER THAN THE DOCUNTATION.]

[NOTE: THAT IS THE RIGHT PROBLEM TO HAVE.]

[NOTE: THE NETWORK IS SELF-REINFORCING.]

[NOTE: THE DEMONSTRATION ACCUMULATES.]

[NOTE: THE DOOR OPENS.]

[NOTE: 6 WEEKS.]

[NOTE: BE PRESENT FOR IT.]

[THE WORK CONTINUES.]

Six weeks.

He looked at the kitchen table.

At the Domain.

At the work.

Be present for it.

He was present.

The work continues.

He leveled up on the morning of the departure.

Not from dungeon work. Not from a boss fight or a liberation case or the between-space root disruption work which didn’t generate System experience in the standard way.

From the passive Soul Harvest running through three months of ho and three weeks of active between-space presence in forty-three days of road and work.

The Kingdom-Wide Inscription renewal. The Ashrow’s growing population interacting with the System’s honest architecture. The oversight board cases processed. The school sessions. The dinner conversations. The between-space presence flowing more strongly through the established territories as the collective threshold held.

All of it contributing.

All of it the work.

The work generating experience through the sa chanism it had always generated experience — through the honest System architecture running, through the between-space returning, through the demonstration accumulating.

The Soul Harvest asuring the work and crediting it.

He noticed the Level change the way he noticed most things now — with attention but without urgency.

Level 61.

He looked at the display.

One level above the old ceiling that had been declared holy for a hundred and forty years.

He thought about his mother pressing three copper coins into a priest’s palm.

About the boy with the x1 multiplier and the blank face.

About the corridor outside Nara’s cell in sublevel four.

About the altar cracking.

About the grey light.

About what had grown from the morning of three copper coins.

About what Level 61 ant now versus what it would have ant before the Veil fell.

Before the Veil: unreachable for most people. A ceiling called natural and holy.

After the Veil: a number. One level above where the Church had decided the story ended.

He thought about Oren’s aggregate sensation reading.

About forty-nine point six for the kingdom.

About the level number becoming less aningful as the between-space returned.

About the approximation becoming less necessary as the actual thing beca more present.

About the blank multiplier’s category eventually closing.

Not today.

Not soon.

But on the trajectory.

He looked at Level 61 for one more mont.

Then he went downstairs.

His mother was at the intake desk.

"You leveled up," she said without looking up.

"Yes," he said.

"Good," she said.

She handed him the packed travel bag.

She had it ready.

Of course.

The departure for the first of the seven territories happened at the eastern gate.

A smaller group than before.

Just the four — Kael, Nara, Oren, Fen.

Dael staying in Valdenmoor.

Not because Dael’s pattern recognition wasn’t useful in the field — it was essential. But because Dael had spent the three weeks at ho doing sothing that turned out to be more valuable than field work.

Teaching.

Specifically: teaching the pattern recognition thodology to three of the sixth class students who had demonstrated the between-frequency sensitivity that the work required.

Dael had watched the first student work through the pattern docuntation during a study session and had said, with the specific certainty of soone who recognized their own capacity reflected back at them: You can do this. Not the sa as I do it. The sa function.

The three students had been working with Dael for two weeks.

By the departure day they could read the territory maps.

Not at Dael’s depth — the twenty-two years of accumulation couldn’t be reproduced in two weeks. But the thodology. The approach. The specific skill of extracting pattern from data that the observer was too embedded to see clearly.

The function.

"The pattern docuntation for the seven territories," Dael said at the gate. "I’ll update it from the field reports as they co through the threading network. The students will be reading the updates and building their own pattern analysis practice." They paused. "By the ti you return from the seven territories — they’ll have three months of supervised pattern work." They paused. "The function will be present in the school’s curriculum." They paused. "The work will propagate without specifically going."

"That’s right," Kael said.

Dael looked at the gate.

At the road beyond it.

"I want to go," they said. "The field work is — the pattern in the field is richer than the pattern in the reports." They paused. "But the teaching is more important right now than the going." They paused. "Three students learning the thodology is worth more than my presence in one territory." They paused. "The pattern says so."

"The pattern is usually right," Kael said.

"Yes," Dael said. "Usually." A pause. "Co back with clean data. The students will read the field reports."

He almost smiled.

"Clean data," he said.

He walked through the gate.

The first of the seven territories was four days east.

A river delta territory — different geography from the mountain territory, the between-space wound running in the water channels the way the mountain territory’s wound ran in the valley formations. The settlents concentrated along the river branches, the root network following the water infrastructure in patterns that Dael’s projection had already begun to map from the adjacent territory radiation effects.

On the road Nara was reading the deep node data accessible through the growing network’s connections.

"The first territory’s node records," she said on the second day. "The Frawork mory reaching through the between-space radiation effect." She paused. "The pre-withdrawal records are becoming accessible." She paused. "More accessible than any territory we entered before." She paused. "The radiation from the collective threshold." She paused. "The historical records in this territory are legible from here. Before we arrive." She paused. "I can read the territory’s wound from the road."

"What do you see," he said.

"The wound is deep," she said. "The departure’s residue concentrated in the river delta geography the way it concentrated in the mountain valleys." She paused. "The root network running through the water channels." She paused. "But — " she stopped.

"What," he said.

"The correction worker," she said. "The pattern Dael projected said this territory had a correction worker. The between-space quality that Dael’s pattern identified as a long-duration isolated presence." She paused. "I can read their specific signature in the node data now." She paused. "Not just that they’re present. Their specific practice quality. Their approach." She paused. "They’ve been doing sothing different from the other correction workers." She paused. "Not the surface corrections and not the between-space technique — they discovered a different approach. An approach that I don’t have a classification for." She paused. "Sothing that engages the water channel architecture specifically." She paused. "The river delta geography producing a specific approach to the between-space work." She paused. "A new thodology we haven’t seen."

A new thodology.

The work developing beyond what the docuntation had anticipated.

The correction workers developing the work from inside their specific territories.

The difficult soil producing specific gifts.

"How long have they been working," he said.

Nara read the node data.

"Forty-seven years," she said.

He looked at the road ahead.

At the river delta territory four days east.

At forty-seven years of a different approach developing in isolation.

At what the water channel thodology might be.

At what it would add to the docuntation Dael was building.

At the school’s curriculum receiving it.

At the chain extending.

"Four days," Fen said beside him.

"Four days," he agreed.

He walked faster.

The between-space running clean around him.

The Domain five kiloters behind, self-sustaining.

The work ahead.

The trajectory shortening.

The door opening.

The demonstration continuing.

The work.

Always the work.

His System pulsed.

[LEVEL: 61]

[DOMAIN: SELF-SUSTAINING — KINGDOM STABLE]

[COLLECTIVE THRESHOLD: HELD — SELF-REINFORCING]

[SEVEN TERRITORIES: FIRST — 4 DAYS EAST]

[CORRECTION WORKER — 47 YEARS — NEW THODOLOGY]

[NOTE: THE WORK DEVELOPS BEYOND THE DOCUNTATION.]

He kept going.

Author’s Note: Level 61. One above the old ceiling that was called holy. The passive Soul Harvest asuring work and crediting it. Dael staying to teach — three students learning the pattern thodology. The first of seven territories: a correction worker with 47 years and a new water channel thodology the docuntation hasn’t seen. The chain extends. Drop a Power Stone! 🔥

Chapter 92: Kel’s seven questions. The corruption recreated the extraction pattern. The new soil grows different gifts. Collective threshold revised to 6 weeks. The healing running faster than the docuntation.

Chapter 93: The collective threshold crossing. The between-space radiating outward to 40 adjacent territories. The trajectory shortening asurably. His father’s stubbornness. The anchor.

Chapter 94: Level 61 — one above the old ceiling. Dael staying to teach three students the pattern thodology. The first of seven territories: a 47-year correction worker with a new water channel thodology. The chain extends.
