LAWRENCE.
I thought my ears were playing tricks on .
For a mont, I genuinely believed I had heard wrongly.
Girlfriend?
What the hell?
My entire body stiffened instantly as the words echoed repeatedly inside my head.
Who exactly was this nuisance?
And more importantly...
How dare he claim Theresa in front of ?
The audacity alone made rage explode violently inside my chest.
Did he have a death wish?
Before I could even think properly, my body moved on its own.
Without caring about my status, the company environnt, or the people watching around us, I lunged forward instantly and grabbed him harshly by his collar.
"I dare you to say that again!" I yelled furiously, my voice echoing loudly across the parking lot.
The guy’s eyes widened imdiately in shock as I tightened my grip around his collar.
At that mont, all I wanted was to crush him completely.
How could he stand there comfortably and boldly claim Theresa as his girlfriend?
"You think this is funny?" I growled angrily, pulling him closer. "Who gave you the courage to say nonsense like that?"
The more I spoke, the tighter my grip beca.
Micheal struggled instantly.
"Sir... I..." he tried to speak.
But my hold on him barely allowed him to breathe properly, as his face slowly turned red as he grabbed my wrist weakly.
Honestly, I didn’t care, as the only thing clouding my head at that mont was anger.
Pure rage.
"You are going to kill him!" Theresa suddenly cried out beside .
Her voice sounded panicked, but even then, I barely paid attention. Instead, my anger only worsened.
Why was she sounding worried over another man?
My jaw clenched tightly.
After a few more seconds, I finally shoved Micheal away forcefully. He staggered backward imdiately, coughing hard as he struggled to regain balance.
I glared at him murderously, If not for Theresa standing there, I honestly might have done worse.
By the ti I turned toward her again, Lurgard had already grabbed her hand.
My face darkened instantly.
I watched him pull her gently toward the car like it was the most natural thing in the world and sohow...that irritated even more.
Leonard stepped forward calmly afterward, and unlike , his expression remained controlled and cold but the look in his eyes said enough already.
He stared directly at Micheal before speaking.
"Stay away from her."
His tone held a clear warning, the type that didn’t need repetition.
But honestly?
Left to , warning him wasn’t enough. I would rather eliminate the threat completely.
I shot Micheal one final glare before turning away and walking toward the car.
The mont I got there, I paused briefly, because surprisingly, Lurgard was already seated beside Theresa in the back seat.
My brows furrowed imdiately.
This morning, he sat in the front beside Leonard while both of them acted cold and distant toward her.
And honestly?
I had enjoyed watching it, because at least then, I had Theresa all to myself.
But now?
Everything suddenly seed different.
Lurgard sat close beside her protectively, and the atmosphere around them felt strangely intimate.
My chest tightened instantly.
What exactly changed?
I entered the car quietly and shut the door behind but no matter how much I tried to ignore it, my gaze still drifted toward the back seat instantly.
Lurgard’s hand was still interlocked with Theresa’s.
And from the furious look on her face, she clearly wasn’t pleased about it either.
Still...he didn’t let go.
My jaw tightened imdiately.
Leonard stepped on the accelerator without saying a word, and soon the car moved out of the parking lot.
The drive ho beca painfully silent. The kind of silence that made the tension inside the car almost unbearable.
Theresa sat quietly beside Lurgard with her face turned toward the window, while Lurgard remained unusually calm and Leonard focused on driving while his expression stayed cold and unreadable.
anwhile, I was barely controlling myself.
Every few seconds, my gaze unconsciously shifted toward Theresa again and toward the hand Lurgard was still holding.
I hated this feeling.
I hated how irritated I beca whenever another person got close to her. I clenched my fists tightly beside .
I didn’t want anyone close to Theresa.
The mont we finally arrived ho, Theresa ca out of the car almost imdiately after I did.
She didn’t wait for any of us, and didn’t even glance back. She simply rushed straight into the mansion angrily.
I instantly moved to follow after her but Lurgard beat to it.
Again.
My eyes darkened slightly as I watched him go after her imdiately like a magnet constantly drawn toward her.
Still, I followed behind them, but just as I got close to her room, I paused when I heard Theresa’s voice.
"What do you and your brothers take for?" she asked sharply, as there was clear frustration in her tone, and then she took a deep breath before continuing. "A child?"
I frowned slightly.
"No, Theresa," Lurgard said calmly. "You weren’t picking your calls. You got us worried." His voice softened afterward. "That guy is still a total stranger to you. You can’t trust anyone blindly."
Theresa scoffed imdiately, and the sound alone carried irritation. "And you and your brothers are what?" she shot back instantly, her voice rose slightly. "I barely t you all a few weeks ago. Aren’t you still strangers too?"
I froze slightly outside the room.
"That’s different—" Lurgard started saying.
But Theresa cut him off imdiately.
"No, it’s not," she said coldly, the firmness in her voice surprised even . "Now get out." There was a brief silence afterward before she added again, "I don’t want to see you or your brothers right now."
My chest tightened instantly.
For so reason, hearing her include all of us in that statent irritated deeply.
Without bothering to enter the room anymore, I turned around quietly and walked away.
My mood had already beco terrible enough.
I couldn’t believe she was acting this way because of that Micheal guy.
The thought alone made irritation spread through again.
Then suddenly, a dangerous question crossed my mind.
Does she love him?
