Eva.
It had been dangerously close.
For a mont back there, I genuinely thought Alex was going to force the truth out of . The way he had stared at , the suspicion lingering in his eyes, the sharpness in his tone—it all made my chest tighten with tension. One wrong word, one wrong reaction, and everything could have fallen apart instantly.
And honestly...at that point, I was more than ready to kill him, because if I don’t, he would.
So why would I bother to wait for my own death?
I didn’t even care about the bigger picture anymore. Didn’t care about consequences, plans, or the damage it would cause afterward.
The irritation he constantly stirred inside had already reached its limit. Every second around him felt suffocating, and the thought of him digging into my private matters only made the rage inside burn hotter.
But surprisingly...he did not push further.
And it was strange.
"If it’s the doctor, tell him I would really want to follow you, but I need to get to work now," he had said with a scoff, his voice carrying that usual mocking edge before he turned around carelessly.
Then he simply walked out.
I stood there quietly as he disappeared from sight, watching him head toward the room to get ready for his so-called work. The mont he was finally gone, I released a slow breath I hadn’t even realized I was holding.
Although Alex chose not to question any further, I still could not shake the strange feeling settling heavily inside my chest.
Sothing felt wrong.
And the unsettling feeling only continued to grow as the hours passed.
The house eventually beca quieter after Alex left, leaving alone with my thoughts. I tried distracting myself, tried convincing myself that maybe I was only overthinking things because of the pressure surrounding everything lately.
But it did not work.
The uneasiness remained.
A few hours later, while I was still lost in thought, an oga suddenly appeared looking for .
"Luna," he called respectfully the mont he stopped a few steps away from .
The mont his voice reached , I turned slightly in his direction.
He imdiately lowered his head in submission, careful not to et my eyes directly as proper etiquette demanded.
"There are four people outside who claid they ca to make a delivery to you."
My brows pulled together instantly in confusion.
A delivery?
The words echoed briefly inside my head as my thoughts imdiately began searching for an explanation.
I hadn’t ordered anything, not recently and besides...Thomas wouldn’t attempt sothing like that right now.
Not at a mont this sensitive, not when every movent around seed to look like it was already being watched carefully.
He was far too cautious to draw unnecessary attention to either of us, especially now.
Which only made the situation feel even stranger.
For a brief mont, suspicion flickered through my mind.
Who would suddenly send sothing to without prior notice?
And why now of all tis?
I stayed silent for a few seconds, my thoughts turning carefully as unease slowly settled in my chest.
The oga remained standing quietly before , still keeping his head lowered respectfully as he waited for my response.
Finally, I inhaled softly and pushed the thoughts aside for the mont.
"Let them in," I said after a brief pause, my voice calm despite the confusion lingering inside . "I am coming to the living room."
"Yes, Luna," the oga answered imdiately.
His voice remained soft and respectful as he gave a small bow before turning around quickly.
The mont he disappeared, I slowly stood up from where I had been seated. Confusion lingered heavily in my mind as I began walking after him toward the living room, my thoughts already trying to piece together who could possibly have sent sothing to .
But the second I stepped into the living room...I froze.
Shock rooted completely in place.
There were four delivery n standing inside and each of them carried sothing valuable in their hands—large packages, decorated boxes and wrapped items.
But none of that truly caught my attention.
My eyes locked instantly on the massive bouquet of roses among them.
The flowers were enormous.
Too enormous.
Dozens upon dozens of roses were arranged together so perfectly that it almost looked absurd. Red petals filled my vision imdiately, the bouquet so large it nearly hid the person carrying it completely.
My heart skipped uneasily.
Who would send sothing like this to ?
And more importantly...
Why did I suddenly have a very bad feeling about it?
I imdiately noticed there was a small letter tucked carefully in between the roses, almost hidden beneath the layers of soft petals. My attention imdiately shifted toward it, curiosity rising inside almost instantly.
Slowly, I reached for the card and pulled it out carefully, my fingers brushing lightly against the flowers as I unfolded it.
My eyes moved across the words written inside.
> Morning princess, just wanted to let you know you hold my heart.
The mont I finished reading the note, my heartbeat quickened slightly inside my chest.
My eyes lingered on the words for a brief second longer, almost as though my mind was trying to fully absorb them.
Then instinctively, I lifted my head and looked toward the delivery man standing a few steps away from .
"Who sent all these?" I asked quickly.
I tried to sound composed, but the anticipation in my voice slipped through anyway.
The delivery man barely hesitated before answering.
"It’s Mr. Alexander."
And just like that, every bit of unease inside disappeared completely.
A wide smile spread across my face almost imdiately, so sudden and genuine that I could not even stop it.
Warmth rushed through my chest at once, soft and overwhelming, pushing away every lingering doubt I had been holding onto monts ago.
Everything suddenly felt lighter and easier.
My fingers tightened slightly around the note as I looked back down at it again.
Alex was actually still in love with .
The realization settled deeply inside , making my lips curve even more.
He was.
I an, all these actually proves he does.
Maybe everything that happened recently had only shaken him temporarily. Maybe he had only needed ti to clear his thoughts. After all... feelings like ours could not disappear overnight. There was no way he could simply erase everything we shared because of Ella.
Eventually, he would forget about her completely.
The thought alone made my smile deepen even further.
I glanced back at the roses again, taking in how beautiful they looked now that I knew they were from him. The rich petals, the soft scent surrounding them, the careful arrangent... everything suddenly felt aningful.
Alex truly knew well.
I turned toward the workers imdiately.
"Keep them carefully," I instructed, my voice softer now, lighter than before. Then I gestured toward the ogas nearby. "Take all of them to my room."
The ogas quickly moved to obey, carefully lifting the flowers one after another while I stood there watching them.
I honestly could not stop smiling.
Alex sure had a way of acting mysterious sotis. He always liked doing things unexpectedly, making people guess what was on his mind. But sohow, that only made monts like this feel even more special.
And the fact that he rembered I loved roses...
That alone made my heart flutter.
Still smiling to myself, I turned and headed upstairs toward my room. The mont I stepped inside, I moved around preparing myself quickly. I still needed to go to the hospital for my check-up, and I did not want to waste too much ti.
Even while getting ready, my thoughts kept drifting back to the flowers downstairs, to Alex and to the letter.
A smile kept tugging at my lips no matter how much I tried to focus on sothing else.
Once I was done preparing, I grabbed my things and imdiately headed downstairs. The mont I reached the entrance, I asked the driver to get the car ready.
"Drive straight to the hospital," I instructed as I got inside.
The driver nodded imdiately before starting the car.
While on the way, I brought out my phone and quickly texted Thomas, informing him that I was already heading to the hospital.
After sending the ssage, I leaned back against the seat quietly, my fingers still loosely holding my phone while my thoughts wandered again.
The ride did not take too long.
The mont I arrived at the hospital, I stepped out imdiately and headed straight toward the doctor’s office. But just before I could continue further down the hallway, sothing suddenly stopped .
A familiar scent reached .
Instantly, my steps slowed.
I froze for half a second before turning slightly and then my face widened into a smile.
I honestly couldn’t believe it.
Fate always seed to be on my side.
