Scarlett’s POV

We moaned into each other’s mouths, his hands finding the skin of my waist, pulling so tight I could feel the thrum of his heart against mine.

But the mont shattered.

A heavy thud echoed from the balcony, and before we could even break apart, Leo burst into the room. His eyes were blown wide with a feral, predatory rage I had never seen before. With a thunderous growl that shook the walls, he lunged forward, grabbing Liam by the shoulder and ripping him away from .

I fell back onto the bed, breathless and dizzy, my head spinning from the alcohol and the sudden loss of warmth.

"What the hell are you doing, Liam?" Leo roared, his teeth bared. His wolf was right at the surface, his fingers curling into claws as he grabbed his brother by the collar of his shirt.

Liam didn’t flinch. He shoved Leo back, his chest heaving. "It’s none of your business, Leo. Get out!"

"None of my business?" Leo snarled, his voice dropping into an angry, low vibration. He stepped into Liam’s space, his height matching his brother’s as they stood toe-to-toe—two Alphas ready to tear each other apart. "Stay away from her. I an it. Don’t you ever lay a hand on her again."

"You have no right to tell that," Liam spat back, his eyes flashing amber. "You don’t own her."

I sat there on the edge of the mattress, swaying slightly as I watched them. It was almost funny. They were brothers—triplets—and yet they were ready to kill each other over , completely oblivious to the fact that they were both bound to .

A reckless, dark spark lit up inside . If they wanted to play gas with my life, I could play, too.

I stood up, my legs feeling heavy and unsteady, and stumbled toward them. I didn’t care that I was only in my underwear. I didn’t care that they were Alphas now. I walked right into the center of their storm and wrapped one arm around Liam’s neck and the other around Leo’s, pulling their heads down toward mine.

The room went deathly silent. Both of them froze, their bodies turning to stone under my touch.

"Why are you fighting?" I whispered, my voice slurred but dripping with a sharp, taunting edge. I looked from Liam’s shocked eyes to Leo’s burning ones. "If you both want so bad... you two can just share ."

"No!" they spat in unison, the word tearing out of their throats at the sa ti.

Their possessiveness flared white-hot. They both gripped my waist, trying to pull toward themselves and away from the other.

"She’s mine," Liam growled, his grip tightening.

"Like hell she is," Leo countered, his eyes glowing with a terrifying intensity.

The room felt like it was going to explode from the sheer amount of Alpha power radiating off them. My head was spinning, but I didn’t pull away. I wanted them to feel this. I wanted them to feel the torture of wanting while they were promised to those other won.

Leo turned his head toward Liam, his teeth bared in a snarl. "What right do you have to claim her as yours?" he demanded, his voice shaking the floorboards. "She is not your mate, Liam. She’s a maid. A traitor’s daughter. So why are you in her room acting like she belongs to you?"

I held my breath, waiting. I looked at Liam, expecting him to finally snap and say it—to tell Leo that we were mates. If he said it, the truth would co out; they would realize they were sharing the sa soul. But Liam’s jaw just tightened. He looked away for a split second, the guilt of his engagent and the sha of my parents’ past keeping his secret locked behind his teeth.

I didn’t say anything, either. If they wanted to lie to themselves, then I won’t be the one to say it.

"You see? You have no right over her," Leo said, a dark triumph in his eyes. He wrapped a heavy arm around my waist and jerked toward him, his nose burying into the crook of my neck. "I’m the one who should be here."

But Liam didn’t back down. He grabbed my arm and pulled back, his touch possessive and rough. "Neither do you, brother. She is not your mate either. You have no more claim than I do."

Liam didn’t wait for another argunt. He leaned down and crashed his lips against mine, a desperate, punishing kiss that tasted like the alcohol still on my breath. But before I could even respond, Leo’s growl ripped through the air. He yanked back into his own chest, his hands sliding over my bare skin as he took my mouth for himself, kissing with a hunger that felt like he was trying to swallow my very soul.

It beca a chaotic, beautiful nightmare.

Liam dragged back toward him, his lips moving down to my neck, biting and sucking at the sensitive skin there until I let out a broken gasp.

Leo pulled back into him, his large hand gripping my hip and sliding down to grab my ass, pulling flush against his hard body. He captured my lips again, his tongue demanding entry while his other hand tangled in my hair.

Liam reached out to yank back, his growl vibrating against my skin.

For a second, I almost lost myself in it—the passion, the pull, the way they both wanted .

And a dark part of whispered... more.

But suddenly, the air in the room didn’t just feel heavy—it felt deadly.

The temperature seed to drop ten degrees in a heartbeat. We all froze.

Standing on the balcony was Leon. He didn’t look like the brother I had shared a mont with in the woods. He looked like a god of death. His silver crown was still perched on his head.

Before anyone could speak, he moved.

He didn’t just walk; he blurred across the room. With a roar of pure, unadulterated rage, he slamd into his brothers. He shoved Liam and Leo off with such force that they stumbled back, hitting the dresser and the wall.

"Stay the fuck away from her!" Leon bellowed. The sound was so loud it made the glass in my windows rattle.

He stepped in front of , his back to like a shield, but his head was turned just enough that I could see his eyes. They weren’t brown or gold. They were a dark, swirling crimson—the color of a wolf who had completely lost control.

"Leon, back off," Liam snarled, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

Leon’s jaw tightened so hard I heard the bone pop. He didn’t answer them. Instead, he turned around slowly to look at . His gaze swept over my bare skin, seeing the red marks on my neck from Liam and the flush on my face from Leo.
