"You weren’t dumped, nor were you bullied, so why are you crying?!" Windsor Myres gave her an annoyed glance, got up and kicked her chair back, and said gallantly, "Forget it. Seeing how upset you are, I won’t go looking for Camden River, I’ll take you out to eat instead, how about that?"
Mia Ginger wrinkled her nose and glanced at her, "No thanks."
"Oh, co on." Windsor Myres was almost maddened by her, gave her a once-over and said, "I wonder who you inherited this stubbornness from, so hard to please, you’re almost like my ancestors."
"You’ve served your ancestors?"
"..." Windsor Myres was at a loss for words, gritted her teeth and said, "Do you want to keep you company or not?"
Mia Ginger was about to speak when the phone in her pocket suddenly rang.
It was Koa Jackson.
She had set a unique ringtone just for Koa Jackson.
Mia Ginger mumbled weakly, "Hello?"
Koa Jackson was taken aback for a mont and thoughtfully asked, "Are you... coming down with a cold?"
"Yeah, a little bit."
"Where are you?" Koa Jackson asked again.
"School."
"Perfect." Koa Jackson chuckled and said, "I’m running so errands near your place, I’m right at your school gate now."
Mia Ginger let out an "Oh."
No further conversation.
Koa Jackson held the phone, sensitively feeling that sothing was off.
This wasn’t like Mia Ginger at all.
Knowing he would co, she would always be excited, eager to et him.
"What’s wrong?" Koa Jackson withdrew his thoughts and patiently asked, "You don’t seem quite right; did sothing happen?"
"Nothing much." Mia Ginger remained downcast.
Koa Jackson frowned deeply, both went silent for a while, then he suddenly asked, "Did that guy Caiden Ward say sothing in front of you?"
Mia Ginger went silent again.
As expected.
Koa Jackson irritably clenched his hand, then gently said, "I’m right at the school gate, co out now and let’s talk about it."
"Okay." Mia Ginger answered faintly like a humming mosquito.
She hung up.
Windsor Myres was leisurely watching her.
Mia Ginger suddenly felt a bit embarrassed and mumbled, "I’m heading out first."
Windsor Myres suddenly sighed, glanced at her, and drawled, "If Camden River were half as good to , I’d be satisfied."
"That’s different."
"Isn’t it always a man and a woman?" Windsor Myres said annoyed, "Is it because you look so pitiful that it’s easier for guys to feel sorry for you?"
"You’re the pitiful one." Mia Ginger replied frustrated.
"Alright, alright, wipe your face and hurry up." Windsor Myres returned to her seat, opened the drawer, found so lip gloss, and complained while applying it, "Honestly. All this delayed from flirting with Camden River."
"..." Mia Ginger gave her a speechless look and walked out.
Her eyes were sowhat swollen, so she bought a bottle of chilled mineral water from the supermarket, pressed it against her eyes, and headed outside the school.
Koa Jackson called again.
Mia Ginger answered, softly calling out, "Brother Jackson."
After crying, one’s mood slowly recovers, and her voice carried a bit of attachnt.
Koa Jackson, feeling cheerful, gently asked, "Where are you now? Haven’t seen you for quite a while."
He had been on a business trip for several days, so hadn’t seen this little girl in several days. Although the waiting ti was clearly as usual, the anxiety in his heart had only increased, unable to resist dialing another call, his voice filled with smiles.
