"I know what you an." Charlotte Chester looked at him irritably, stood up, and walked over to Mia Ginger, taking her hand.
Mia’s hands were icy cold, but Charlotte’s soft palm ward them a little, and she didn’t pull away.
Charlotte patted the back of her hand, smiling, "Mom knows you’re upset about your sister’s situation, but you’re standing here perfectly fine, without a scratch. After all, we’re family. Once things are out in the open, they can be let go. Don’t take it to heart, alright?"
"Mom," Mia looked at her and said calmly, "I know you’ll forgive her. It’s alright, I don’t mind."
"Mom knew you were the most understanding." Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief, smiled, and continued, "And about the lawsuit? See, your sister is pregnant, right? We can’t let the child be born without a mother. Think about it, how sad would that be for the child."
"A child without a mother is indeed sad." Mia looked at her, "But sotis having a mother is worse than not having one. Who knows what the child will think? We shouldn’t make decisions for him."
The smile on Charlotte’s face suddenly froze.
"I’ve already said there’s no leeway for the lawsuit." Mia withdrew her hand and put it in her pocket.
"This child," Charlotte quickly grabbed her, trying to persuade her, "don’t be impulsive about this matter. Your sister has been with our family for over ten years; all the won in the circle know her. Suddenly going to prison, what does that look like? There’s no secret under the sun; everyone will know sooner or later. By then, they’ll say you sent your sister to prison. Don’t you care about your reputation?"
"Ha. Then you can tell those ladies why I sent her to prison."
"Why don’t you listen, no matter how it’s put?" Charlotte was getting a bit anxious.
"It’s not the first day you know how ungrateful I am." Mia finished speaking and turned to go upstairs.
Charlotte watched her back and stomped her foot.
Bob Ginger’s hand holding the shopping bag couldn’t help but tighten, angrily saying, "Mom, can you stop pushing her!"
"How am I pushing her?" Charlotte glared at him irritably, "Which side are you on? Hasn’t your sister been good to you? Insisting that she leaves our family, and she’s pregnant. Where can she go if she leaves ho?"
The sister she ntioned was, of course, Zuri Ginger.
Bob murmured gloomily, "Didn’t Dad already say that we hired a nanny to take care of her?"
"What nanny can take better care of her than family?" Charlotte glanced at his shopping bag, reprimanding, "Look at you, carrying so many things all by yourself. Are you stupid? You call her sister, but can’t she use her own hands?"
"I wanted to carry them myself!" Bob suddenly got angry, saying indignantly, "How tall is she compared to ? And she’s so skinny, how does she have the strength? What’s wrong with carrying a few clothes?"
"I just can’t understand you, your heart is like covered in lard."
"I think you’re the one..."
Bob’s tone choked, feeling frustrated, "Forget it, forget it, I’m not talking to you anymore, there’s no reasoning with you."
As soon as he finished speaking, he turned around and went upstairs.
Charlotte watched his back, exasperated, "Who knows what kind of nonsense he’s been fed!"
Having vented, she turned to glance at Zuri Ginger.
Zuri sat on the sofa, her face with a faint smile, which made Charlotte feel uneasy inside.
Charlotte smiled as she approached her and sat next to her, holding Zuri’s hand with both of hers, comforting, "Don’t worry. I’ll handle the lawsuit matter. When your dad gets ho tonight, I’ll talk to him properly and have him persuade Mia. Imagine a girl being this headstrong, stubborn as a rock in a latrine pit."
