Before the receptionist could finish speaking, Koa Jackson turned around and made a call to the side.
Within a few minutes—
Zane Jackson’s personal assistant ca down personally and greeted him warmly, "Third Young Master, what brings you here?"
"Lead the way," Koa said blandly.
"Yes, this way please."
The assistant courteously led him inside, turning around to give the bewildered security guard a fierce glare. The guard was on the verge of tears.
Koa Jackson and the assistant entered the private elevator.
Soon—
They arrived at the chairman’s office.
Zane Jackson was naturally surprised to see him, standing up from his swivel chair with a smile, "Koa, what brings you here?"
He valued the only son between him and Ayla Ward very much.
Lydia Williams, Marianne Jackson, and Bryan Jackson combined weren’t even a fraction of him.
But—
He had neglected to care for him over the years.
Zane Jackson felt very guilty towards his eldest son.
"I have sothing to discuss with you." On the way, Koa Jackson’s anger slowly subsided, and he spoke in a warm voice.
"Have a seat first." Zane Jackson glanced at the sofa not far away, gesturing for him to sit.
Koa Jackson nodded and stepped over to sit down.
A female secretary in a black business suit entered, smiling as she inquired, "Would you like sothing to drink?"
Koa Jackson looked up at her, yet to answer, and his expression was briefly stunned.
The woman in his sight looked very young, likely under thirty. Her tailored black business suit accentuated her slender figure, with a gentle smile; she bore so resemblance to his deceased mother.
Ayla Ward was in her thirties when she passed away.
Koa Jackson was nine.
His mory forever imprinted with the thirty-sothing smiling face of his mother.
Looking at the distant female secretary, he was a bit lost in thought.
Zane Jackson glanced to the side, and casually instructed, "Prepare coffee for Koa."
"Yes, Chairman." The secretary responded and turned to leave.
Graceful and elegant in bearing.
Koa Jackson reflected on Zane Jackson’s brief command earlier; oddly enough, his mood beca increasingly complicated.
Koa?
What a joke.
He had never been here, yet his father could so casually issue instructions in front of an outsider, while the woman taking the questions was neither surprised nor curious in the slightest.
Koa Jackson sat on the sofa, his expression cooling along with the atmosphere around him.
Zane Jackson glanced at him, took a seat in the single couch beside him, and asked, "What’s up? No work this afternoon?"
"Are you aware of the news about and Lia Chester?" Koa Jackson got straight to the point.
Zane Jackson paused montarily, nodding, "I am aware."
"Did you fan the flas?"
"No," Zane Jackson roughly guessed what he wanted to ask and answered truthfully, "The online news about you two has nothing to do with ."
"But you ignore it."
Zane Jackson chuckled, "It’s just so gossip; it doesn’t affect your reputation, not worth minding. Besides, Lia Chester joined you in the disaster area, indicating she’s quite capable and, being the Chester Family’s daughter, I think you two are quite a match."
"I have Mia Ginger."
"I don’t fancy that girl Mia Ginger," Zane Jackson slightly frowned.
Koa Jackson stared intently at him, smiled, and said solemnly, "Dad, she’s the only one I want."
"..." Zane Jackson was stunned and said nothing.
