Caiden Ward was taken aback, "How did the drool get on your face?"
"Just like on TV, he ran over and kissed . He’s so ugly and he kissed , of course I had to hit him." Maeve Myres enunciated each word, seemingly still a bit upset, speaking as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Caiden Ward understood.
He just thought, hm, she hit him well.
Taking advantage and being a hooligan, how could he not get hit?
The little girl is pretty great.
He gently coaxed, "So just be a good girl and stay at the kindergarten, Uncle Ward will co pick you up and take you ho right away."
"Okay, buy KFC, I want to eat a chicken leg." Maeve demanded.
"Sure." Caiden Ward chuckled indulgently, "What else do you want to eat?"
"Also a packet of fries, with extra ketchup."
"Anything else?"
"Can I have an ice cream cone?" Maeve asked with a cheeky smile.
Caiden Ward frowned, "No ice cream cones, they’re too cold."
"Then why do you keep asking !"
Caiden Ward: "..."
Okay, everything was his fault, for talking too much, who told him to keep asking?
"That’s it then." Maeve thought for a mont and said crisply, handing the phone back to Teacher Brown and going off to play again.
Teacher Brown felt utterly helpless.
On the other end, Caiden Ward said, "I’ll be over right away. We’ll handle this when I get there, thanks for taking good care of Maeve."
"Don’t worry." When dealing with parents who spoil their children like this, teachers are often at a loss.
Caiden Ward hung up the phone.
He was fully dressed, in a sharp suit and shiny leather shoes, looking both charming and elegant.
Blair Chester watched him, feeling puzzled, not daring to ask for a long while.
She’d seen Maeve once at a charity gala and knew full well how gentle, patient, and indulgent Caiden was with her.

How had he beco her guardian now?
Even if sothing happened with the Myres family, it shouldn’t be his responsibility to look after Maeve, they weren’t even related.
She pressed her lips together in thought and, seeing Caiden about to leave, suddenly spoke up, "Should I co with you?"
Caiden Ward looked at her in surprise.
"There’s nothing happening now anyway. You’re going to pick up Maeve and still need to drive, right? Who’s going to look after her? If I co along, I can take care of her. I t her once and thought she was adorable."
She spoke with a gentle smile, seeming genuinely sincere.
Caiden Ward had been quite exhausted by Maeve recently, having several nights of poor sleep, and often encountered issues when picking her up alone.
He needed to drive, and the little girl sitting alone in the backseat wouldn’t settle down and always tried to move to the front.
Having soone accompany him to keep her entertained wouldn’t be bad.
Caiden Ward thought it over briefly and agreed, smiling, "Okay, ti’s a bit tight, let’s not delay."
"Mm." Blair Chester quickly nodded and also got dressed.
The two of them went together to pick up Maeve Myres.
As they neared the school, Caiden Ward parked the car in a roadside parking spot.
Blair Chester got out to specifically buy KFC.
Caiden Ward reminded her, "Get a couple of extra packets of ketchup."
"Got it." Blair Chester nodded, feeling a bit conflicted.
She knew all too well how indifferent Caiden usually was towards won, yet he was so kind to the child?
It was quite contradictory.
She queued for over ten minutes, bought the KFC, and then the two set off again.
The car was parked outside, and they went into the school together to pick up Maeve Myres.
