The next day, in the morning.
It was past ten when Mia Ginger woke up groggily.
Her whole body was aching.
She lifted a hand to rub her sleepy eyes, yawned, and turned over, only to bump into a firm chest.
Koa Jackson, too, unusually got up late.
Looking at him, all the scenes from last night flooded back into Mia Ginger’s mind.
She really couldn’t feel happy.
Pouting, she turned over to face away from Koa Jackson again.
"What’s wrong?" Koa Jackson lifted his hand to grip her shoulder, asking softly, "Still sulking?"
"I don’t want to talk to you," Mia Ginger replied in a muffled voice.
Don’t want to talk to him?
Koa Jackson looked at her thin back, pursing his thin lips, feeling that he was indeed a bit out of control last night, and asked softly, "Still hurting?"
Mia Ginger bit her lip and didn’t say a word.
It wasn’t about the pain; she just felt that Koa Jackson wasn’t being accommodating.
They were eight years apart, after all. Even if she went a bit overboard, he should just be more tolerant, right?
Did he have to bully her?
As Mia Ginger thought more about it, the more aggrieved she felt.
She pulled the blanket around her tightly, a self-protective stance, blocking out Koa Jackson’s intimacy.
Koa Jackson’s anger had already dissipated.
Seeing her so stubborn now, he found it a bit amusing, pulled the blanket away, hugged her entirely in his arms, and coaxed in a low voice, "It was my fault this ti. Be good, don’t be angry anymore."
"I just want you to comfort ." Mia Ginger curled up in his arms, her attitude softening a bit. With one hand around his waist, her cheek rubbed against his chest as she said aggrievedly, "I know you were mad about Louis Cox finding . But you know in my heart, there’s only you. He’s a friend, and I didn’t have many friends before. Now there’s just him and Little Patten left. I can’t just cut them off because I’m married, can I? It’s not even at that point."
"His intentions for you..."
"I know he likes , but now he doesn’t bring those things up anymore. He behaves like a friend, and we don’t cross any lines when we’re together. Plus, his parents and sister passed away not long ago. I really can’t cut ties with him; I just can’t." Mia Ginger finished each word carefully, looked up at his eyes, and bit her lip, saying, "Please trust , okay, Brother Jackson?"
She had absolutely no feelings for any other man besides Koa Jackson.
If she liked Louis Cox, she would have been with him long ago. How could she have beco Koa Jackson’s girlfriend?
At this point, she was already his wife.
As his wife, shouldn’t she have so privileges?
Sulk, get angry, complain aggrievedly, occasionally be a bit of a brat—these were originally a wife’s rights.
She just wanted Koa Jackson to care, tolerate her, trust, and pamper her, nothing more.
Mia Ginger’s eyes shone brightly as she looked at Koa Jackson.
Longing, anticipation, adoration...
A multitude of emotions were contained within, enough to be srizing.
As Koa Jackson looked at her, the last bits of his concerns and dissatisfaction slowly vanished.
He hugged Mia Ginger tightly and said softly, "Alright."
"Love a little more," Mia Ginger murmured, nestled in his arms. "I want lots and lots of love, and I only want the love that cos from you. Even when I’m angry and speak out of turn, it’s just because I want you to comfort , not because I truly want to oppose you."
"I understand." Koa Jackson dropped a kiss on her cheek, "I was indeed wrong, and I’ll make sure to change."
"I didn’t even say you were wrong," Mia Ginger’s voice was small.
"I understand everything." Koa Jackson lowered his eyes to look into hers and suddenly called, "Little One."
