He had feelings for Olivia Williams, and he couldn’t deceive himself, nor could he deceive others.
He quickly told Josephine Holland.
Originally, he hoped she would start a new life soon, and had been avoiding her these past few days. Who would have thought this girl would be so silly as to not even care for her own life?
Denver Petal sighed, and in his line of sight, Josephine Holland’s thick, long eyelashes fluttered as she opened her eyes.
Seeing him, tears imdiately fell.
Denver was taken aback, and quickly walked over, saying softly, "Don’t cry."
"I thought you would never care about again." Josephine looked at him, tears streaming, "I really thought you would never care about again."
"I wouldn’t." Denver smiled, "Even as a friend, I wouldn’t ignore you."
Josephine was stunned, and stared blankly at his face.
After a mont, she regained her senses and furrowed her brows, asking, "Did my brother hit you again?"
"If you hadn’t woken up, I would have beaten him to death." A cold, hard voice suddenly ca from outside. Frank Holland walked in with a cold expression, but when he faced her, his tone softened, asking gently, "How do you feel?"
"A bit uncomfortable." Josephine frowned, speaking in a soft voice.
"You only feel uncomfortable now?" Frank snapped, "What were you thinking when you took those pills?"
"Brother..." Josephine bit her lip, speaking softly.
"Go ahead." No one understood his sister better than he did. When she showed that appearance, it ant she had a request. Frank spoke directly.
"I, can I have Denver stay with tonight?" As soon as Josephine spoke, she bit her lip and looked at Denver, pleading, "Can you stay with , please? I feel like I haven’t seen you in days, I really want you to be with ."
Denver looked at her, not saying a word.
"Just stay with for one night, okay, even half the night is fine, I just want to talk with you." Josephine added.
Denver raised his hand to press on his forehead, inadvertently touching the wound on his face. Frank had hit him pretty hard, causing him to wince slightly in pain, but he nodded, "Okay."
Agreed?
Josephine looked at him, her eyes suddenly brightening.
Denver sighed and said softly, "I’ll go make a call outside first."
Of course, it was to call Olivia.
Josephine bit her lip and glanced at Frank, then fell silent again.
Frank’s face remained hard as Denver glanced at him before stepping outside to call Olivia.
Olivia had already finished washing up and was in bed. Seeing his call coming in, she roughly guessed what it might be about and answered with a "Hey."
Denver chuckled softly, "I won’t be coming back tonight, you should sleep first."
"Okay." Olivia’s voice was indifferent as well.
Denver listened to her gentle breathing over the phone, thought for a mont, and called softly, "Olivia."
"Yes?"
"I love you." Denver suddenly said.
Olivia was montarily stunned, her heart seeming to skip a beat, and she pressed her lips together, asking, "What’s wrong? Why say such things all of a sudden?"
"Is this your reaction?" Denver chuckled lightly.
Olivia said nothing.
Denver asked her softly, "And you?"
"What?"
"You have no feelings for , I don’t believe it."
"I do." Olivia didn’t lie, her voice was soft, "I have feelings, just limited."
"I understand." Denver breathed a sigh of relief, "It won’t be long."
"Alright."
Olivia nodded and hung up the phone.
Denver listened to the busy tone from the phone, his mood still complicated. After a mont, he put the phone away and returned to the ergency room inside.
Josephine and Frank were talking, but stopped when they saw him enter.
Josephine gave him a weak smile.
Frank glanced at him and said, "Josephine said she’s hungry, I’ll go see if there’s anything to eat at this ti, you keep her company for a bit."
"Understood." Denver nodded.
Frank stepped out.
Denver pulled up a chair and sat by the bedside with her.
Josephine looked at him with a gaze full of affection and so heartache, whispering, "I’m sorry, you know what my brother is like, he was just angry, it’s all my fault for putting you both in a difficult position."
"Isn’t that why he’s your brother?" Denver shrugged with a smile, "Just because he treats you so well, you shouldn’t be doing such foolish things."
"I feel so miserable." Josephine’s eyes were filled with pain, "Especially every night, thinking about you, it’s unbearable..."
