The old man hurriedly supported her, but inertia brought them both to their knees.
Koa Jackson’s expression froze.
Mia Ginger looked up at him and said in a low voice, "Reece Lee said his daughter has leukemia. She was previously hospitalized at your hospital, but they were kicked out because they couldn’t afford the fees, so he just..."
"Okay." Koa Jackson nodded, carrying her into the car.
In the passenger seat, Mia Ginger watched as Koa Jackson reclined her seat, buckled her seatbelt, closed the door, and then walked around the front of the car to get in. His cold profile was still shrouded in anger, making her afraid to speak.
Koa Jackson lowered his eyes to look at her, his slightly cool hand brushing against her forehead, and said calmly, "There will naturally be soone to take care of it."
In other words, it’s not sothing you need to worry about.
Mia Ginger naturally understood that his anger hadn’t dissipated, and she replied softly with an "okay."
She felt dizzy.
Earlier, Zuri Ginger had forced her to drink. It wasn’t much, but for her to hold on until now was not easy.
Relaxing now, it felt as though her whole body started to ache.
She slumped softly against the seat, her eyelids fluttering repeatedly.
Koa Jackson carefully assessed her and found she hadn’t suffered any significant harm. Slightly relieved, he took off his jacket and covered her with it, soothing her, "I’ll drive slowly. We’re heading ho first. Let know if you feel uncomfortable."
"My throat is sore," Mia Ginger said, her eyes misty as she looked at him, "I want so water."
Koa Jackson backed out of the parking lot.
Late at night, more than ten police cars had gathered, naturally disturbing the neighborhood.
Many people stood outside the shops along the street, whispering to each other.
Koa Jackson stopped the car by the roadside, entered a convenience store, and soon returned with a bag.
He opened the passenger door and helped Mia Ginger sit up.
"Rinse your mouth." He had spent so ti inside, asking the store owner to heat a bottle of water and a carton of milk. The water bottle, opened and handed to Mia Ginger, was just warm enough. Supported by him, she rinsed her mouth and couldn’t help but glance up at him.
Koa Jackson’s eyes were full of tender concern.
Her stomach churned, and Mia Ginger, holding his arm, got out of the car, stumbled, and bent over to vomit.
Having not eaten for a while, she didn’t vomit much, mostly just sour water.
So splashed onto Koa Jackson; his impeccably pressed trousers and deep black shoes were not spared.
Dazed, Mia Ginger instinctively raised her hand to wipe for him.
Koa Jackson caught her wrist, frowning tightly, "What are you doing?"
"Your pants are dirty," Mia Ginger said, feeling awful as she looked at the stains on his pants, her fingers curling and her voice husky with regret.
"Don’t worry about it," Koa Jackson said helplessly, "Rinse your mouth. Feeling any better?"
After finishing a bottle of water, Mia Ginger was still dizzy and nodded to him aimlessly.
Koa Jackson helped her back into the seat, bent to take a small piece of ginger and handed it over, speaking softly, "Keep this in your mouth. If you don’t want it later, you can spit it out. Drink this carton of milk, and when we get ho, I’ll make you so bean soup."
"Okay," Mia Ginger nodded as she looked at him.
Koa Jackson touched her face, "Good girl."
Once he settled her, he turned away to drive back to Cloudy Capital.
The hospital was too far, and her condition didn’t require ergency care, so Koa Jackson naturally headed straight ho.
Aurora Cooper and Amy ca out soon after, got in the car, and followed him back.
The journey was quite long, and Koa Jackson drove slowly. It was close to eleven when they finally returned to Cloudy Capital, Cooper Manor.
