My mind was twisted, and while it did seem like blaming the past Arinya for her choice, it’s not like that would help in my current situation.

I pressed my hand on his chest, trying to push him away but I paused.

Kaelor looked like a hungry beast that was going to gobble up in an instant.

"Arinya," Kaelor leaned in again and I gulped. "I know this is wrong."

I frowned, pursing my lips to avoid the kiss and doing my best to push myself back but he held firmly, like my weight was nothing more than a soft feather pillow.
This feeling of not being able to control my body however I wanted was so concerning and unpleasant.
It was going to make do what I didn’t want to do.
I wished for sothing to happen. Anything that would make sure this kiss never happened and then my wish ca true.
As Kaelor drew closer, his eyes caught on to the white mark of a slithering being on my neck and he paused.
At first, he wasn’t sure but then he slid my hair aside, causing to flinch knowing he had discovered the mark.
His eyebrows imdiately furrowed, his soft gaze replaced with anger and his face twisted in disdain. Then he asked,
"Where did you get that mark from?"
My entire body froze at his question. The way his gaze turned from affectionate to rage was scary, and I gulped.
"Arinya," he grabbed my shoulder, gripping tightly as he glared with rage, but inside that rage was concern. "What happened? Did you get forced by a snake?"
"N-no," I stuttered, my heart hamring against my ribs.
"Then where did you get this mark from? How could a snake have marked you?" He raised his voice, shouting as the possibility that I had been kidnapped and forced to mate with a snake crossed his mind.
I don’t know if he was like this out of sheer concern, or if it was jealousy at play but it was right out scary.
I don’t think I’ve been this scared ever since... Well, since, I don’t know, I’ve never been this scared.
Not when I ca across a huge ass snake beastman, not when I was in front of Fenric’s beast form and not even when it looked like I had disappointed Damar by letting Fenric mark first.
It wasn’t like this at all.
This ti, I could feel my entire body trembling, just looking at the rage in his eyes.
Was this the feeling one gets when their loved ones suddenly get enraged at them?
Was it because deep in Arinya’s heart, Kaelor held a special and most important spot that it hurt like this?
Yes, it hurts. My heart keeps aching as he rants, angrily, trying to uncover the truth.
The rage and disappointnt in his voice, clouding the concern I felt earlier made wish the ground would just open up and swallow .
"Arinya!" He yelled my na and I flinched.
My eyes grew teary and before long, those tears began to roll down.
Seeing my tears, Kaelor froze.
He had been yelling on and on, trying to uncover what had happened but he didn’t even give a chance to speak. Didn’t try to hear out and made all his speculations which only hurt more.
Was this the love and care he had for his sister.
"Arinya, I..."
All of a sudden, a being swooshed in, putting us both at alert but before Kaelor could act, it was already too late for him.
The one who swooshed in, stole from his arms and then knocked Kaelor away was none other than Damar.
He swung his tail, whipping Kaelor far until his back hit the trees and held protectively, hissing, with his eyes turned feral.
"You don’t get to touch what doesn’t belong to you." He hissed. "I’ll make you pay for making Arinya cry."
