In a VIP ward within the inpatient building of Jiangning City Central Hospital, Long Zhenguo was standing next to the hospital bed, where his mother Xiang i lay.
A few doctors in white coats surrounded the bed, with one being the hospital director, Zheng Hai, an almost 60-year-old man, yet vibrant and energetic, with well-grood and shiny white hair. At this mont, Director Zheng looked at the unconscious Xiang i and said, "Secretary Long, prepare yourself psychologically, your mother's condition has deteriorated again, she might not last these few days."
"How did it worsen again?" Secretary Long's hand trembled as he spoke emotionally.
Director Zheng nodded and sighed, "The cancer cells have spread throughout the intestines; chemotherapy is of no use and will only increase your mother's suffering. It might be better—let her go peacefully."
On the bed, Xiang i's face was pale and bloodless, her hair had completely fallen out due to chemotherapy, making her look sowhat eerie and frightening.
Then, Xiang i's attending doctor said, "Secretary Long, we're sorry, but we are at our wits' end."

"Secretary Long, nowadays, many young people are not doing their proper work," Director Zheng lectured, "I hope you won't be deceived."
Long Zhenguo suddenly didn't know what to say. Actually, if he hadn't seen Luo Chao's superb dical skills himself, he probably wouldn't believe that such a young man could be a divine doctor.
At this mont, Luo Chao spoke, "As they say, every profession has its specialization; age shouldn't restrict a doctor's abilities, right?"
This young quack has quite the thick skin, many doctors thought to themselves as Luo Chao slowly walked to Xiang i's side, observed her face, gently placed his hand on her wrist, and checked her pulse, revealing a serious expression.

Long Zhenguo asked anxiously, "Bro Lu, how is it," then sighed again, "probably hopeless, right?"
Under everyone's watchful eyes, Luo Chao showed a faint smile, "There is hope."
"What!" Upon hearing Luo Chao's words, all the doctors, including Director Zheng, slightly opened their mouths, revealing a look of disbelief. Xiang i's attending doctor also ca over and quietly asked, "Secretary Long, how much has he asked for?"
"He hasn't, and he wouldn't ask for money either; we have a really good relationship," Long Zhenguo spoke emphatically, leaving the attending doctor dumbfounded. Not asking for any money, could this young man be ntally disturbed?
Long Zhenguo forced a helpless smile, "Director Zheng, please let the doctors leave."
Zheng Hai was startled, staring directly at him, "Secretary Long, you don't truly want him to save your mother, do you?"
"As long as there's a glimr of hope, I'm willing to try," Long Zhenguo nodded.
All the doctors were dumbfounded. Zheng Hai was a renowned authority on various cancer treatnts across Huaxia. If he said soone couldn't be cured, how could a young kid fresh out of school manage it?
If soone said Long Zhenguo was foolish, it'd be hard to believe, otherwise, how did he beco the municipal party secretary? Maybe this kid has poured so magical potion into Secretary Long.
Nevertheless, considering Xiang i was already at death's door and her son was willing to give it a shot, what else could the doctors say? Zheng Hai originally wanted Luo Chao to present a dical practice license but decided against it. Secretary Long wouldn't rest until all options were exhausted; let him proceed.
