Feeling a bit of a headache, Luo Chao rubbed his temples and knocked on the table to draw everyone's attention. Luo Chao began, "Dear comrades, today is a great day for the formation of our eighth squad. Feel free to speak your mind and share any thoughts you have."
After he finished speaking, no one responded for quite a while, and the room was so silent you could hear a pin drop. Suddenly, laughter erupted, "Hahaha, what are you rambling on about? Hahaha, you're killing with laughter! What's with calling us 'dear comrades'—do you think you're hanging out at a tavern?" Nangong Hanhan was laughing uncontrollably at Luo Chao's introduction.
Luo Chao's face darkened. Was it really that funny? He just wanted to lighten the mood a bit, did she have to undermine him right off the bat? Didn't she worry about invoking the wrath of the new leader?
Bang, bang, bang, Luo Chao slapped the table hard three tis and shouted, "Comrade Hanhan, can you be quiet for a mont, we're in a eting here!"
Nangong Hanhan also slapped the table three tis, shouting, "Comrade Luo Chao, you're the one who said to speak freely." She didn't pick up on the playful undertone in Luo Chao's voice.
Luo Chao rubbed his nose, feeling a bit guilty. "Consider it unsaid."
"Alright, alright." Guo Ren stood up to diate, "Since the captain asked us to speak freely, I'll start by introducing myself."
"My na is Guo Ren, many of you may already know . I am an Earth Ability User, specializing in defense."
"Next up, it's . I'm Nangong Hanhan, and my ability is Magic Hair. It's quite powerful you know, ever since..."
"Alright, next." Luo Chao cut her off imdiately. If he let her recount her family's glorious history from the start, it wouldn't be finished by tomorrow noon, and the entire eting would turn into her personal monologue. Nangong Hanhan puffed up her cheeks in frustration as she glared at him.
Next up was Liu Qingqing, who had been sitting with a frosty expression from the start, "Liu Qingqing, Wood Ability User. This eting is really boring. Hopefully, after introductions, you'll say sothing of substance." She said coldly, staring at Luo Chao.
"Wu Zhongli, healing." Wu Zhongli said listlessly; he had been drowsy since the start of the eting, a bad habit he's had since he was young.
When it ca to the young boy, his face, which had been flushed with excitent, turned a bit embarrassed. He said self-consciously, "I'm White Wolf, I'm not a superpower user, but I'll work hard on myself and make sure I don't hold everyone back." He knew the opportunity to join this official squad was precious and was afraid of being kicked out for being too weak.
Luo Chao sensed his unease and comforted him, "Little Wolf, there's no need to be nervous. No one here looks down on you."
"Yes, if anyone bullies you in the future, co tell Big Sis, I'll deal with them for you." Nangong Hanhan said while glaring fiercely at Luo Chao, hinting that he was that "soone."
The shadows on the young White Wolf's face slowly disappeared, and he beca more cheerful. His companions' encouragent gave him so confidence. Seeing this, Luo Chao felt sowhat comforted. He genuinely felt sorry for the kid and wanted to help him. He had already planned to go to Zhao Hanxue in a couple of days to get a Superpower Potion for Little Wolf to see if it could activate his superpower cells. If not, he had other plans.
Clapping his hands, Luo Chao said, "Now that everyone has a basic understanding of each other, I don't care about your prior relations or abilities. Since we're a team now, we must unite as one, becoming life and death brothers whom we can trust our backs to."
"I completely agree with the captain; unity is crucial." Guo Ren imdiately expressed his support for Luo Chao's statent.
Luo Chao nodded at him and continued, "One more thing I need to clarify: we can ss around in our free ti, but during missions, everyone must follow my orders without exception. If anyone disobeys, don't bla for being harsh."
Seeing Luo Chao's serious face, everyone settled down. Even the usually carefree Nangong Hanhan nodded, indicating no issues. Only Liu Qingqing showed no reaction, but it seed she understood the importance of following orders for a team.
No one showed any objections, which made Luo Chao quite satisfied. Despite how quirky these people were, at least he could command them, and that was enough.
"Captain, do we have any tasks for the ti being?" Wu Zhongli asked weakly.
"No, right now what's most important for us is to get used to each other." Luo Chao said, "We don't really know each other well. There's almost no teamwork with our superpowers, and that won't do. We have to practice."
"So during this period, we should spend more ti together to build so camaraderie, heh heh..." Luo Chao chuckled mischievously, giving Nangong Hanhan a glance.
Nangong Hanhan caught the innuendo in his words and spat angrily with embarrassnt, "I knew you couldn't stay serious for long. You started acting like an idiot again after just a few sentences."
"..."
After concluding the eting, Luo Chao couldn't wait to find Tie Xiong, having arranged everything here, so they could practice on their own. Now he was eager to retrieve his Spirit Beast Hide.
He kicked open Tie Xiong's room door and shouted, "Co on, I'm done with my stuff. Hand over the hide; I'm in a hurry to make so talismans!"
Tie Xiong found this kid quite exasperating. Who would have thought such a short ti ago that he'd be completely ignoring his deputy leader status, not even bothering to knock anymore, and just kicking the door open.
You cheeky brat, you co running to three tis a day; do you think I wouldn't give it to you?" Tie Xiong was getting annoyed by him, "I'll give you the access; you can get it yourself later and stop bothering ."
"Heh heh, that's the way to go. Don't worry, old man. Once I make so spirit talismans, I'll pick the best one for you for protection. You should be thanking ."
Tie Xiong got up to give him a smack—this kid was really out of control—calling him 'old man' instead of deputy leader. Dammit, am I really that old?
Luo Chao hurriedly dashed off, covering his head.
This ti, Luo Chao was on a large-scale talisman-making spree, with a huge supply of raw materials at his disposal. Not being aweso was not an option. He hung a do-not-disturb sign on his door and stayed in his room for three whole days.
Had it not been for Guo Ren holding her back, Nangong Hanhan would have burst in several tis to see if Luo Chao had died in there.
"Hey, Little Wolf, what do you think that scoundrel is up to? He told us to practice cooperation, yet he's holed up in his room. Do you think he's plotting sothing shady?" Nangong Hanhan stood in the training ground, looking at Luo Chao's door, and said to White Wolf.
