The older you get, the more you just want a peaceful life, surviving these few years to enjoy retirent with a pension. If Luo Chao asks him to handle so tricky business, he certainly wouldn't want to.
"I was out at the night market with friends, and one of their bags got snatched. The thief has been caught, but the local police insist we go make a statent before they'll handle it," Luo Chao explained the situation briefly, "It's so late, who wants to go and hang around the station..."
"Alright, I get it." Yang Shouye understood Luo Chao's ssage even before he finished speaking; such minor matters hardly needed his personal involvent.
He said he'd help deal with it and to wait for further updates.
After the call, Luo Chao chuckled and said to Dong Jie, "Teacher. It's sorted, let's wait a bit."
Dong Jie nodded, unsure if he'd really done it, but had no choice but to believe him for now. If nothing else worked, they'd have to go to the station to make a statent; after all, they couldn't let a thief get away with it.
But the local cop clearly didn't think so, annoyed by Dong Jie's earlier threats to file a complaint, now irked by this young man's "swagger" and growing impatient.
"Finished showing off yet? Once you're done, hurry up and co with ." The older cop said, his voice dripping with contempt.
"No rush, your boss will call you soon." Luo Chao stood there, nonchalantly speaking.
The older cop finally found humor in his words, "Boss? Is it Director Yang? I've been with the bureau for so many years, only to find out today that our Director's last na is Yang, haha~ that's hilarious."
Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang, surprisingly just as Luo Chao had predicted. He pulled it out; the screen showed the Director's number.
This made him glance at Luo Chao in disbelief, wondering if this young man had really been talking to their Director.
Not daring to hesitate, he quickly answered, "Hello! Director..."
"You damn fool, what have you done? Are you trying to get killed?" A thunderous roar ca from the phone, and the older cop could imagine their Director's furious expression at that mont.
"Do you know who you've offended? Director Yang from the Liuhai District personally called ? You scared half to death, did you know? You better handle whatever it is imdiately. When you get back, I'll deal with you. Damn it..."
The older cop was sweating profusely, hurriedly saying, "Yes, yes, yes..." But when he tried to explain further, the Director had already hung up.
Luo Chao heard the loud shouting too and managed his laughter as he said, "Officer, can we handle the situation now?"
"Okay, okay." The older cop, now a bit overwheld, complied imdiately at Luo Chao's order, quickly signaling a younger, dazed cop to cuff the thief.
Then he walked over to Dong Jie and another woman, bowing at a ninety-degree angle, "We really mishandled this matter, please don't take it to heart ladies!!"
He really needed their forgiveness now, unsure what kind of punishnt awaited back at the station!
The ladies exchanged glances, able to see a mutual intention to keep the peace; since the cop hadn't committed a major error, Dong Jie spoke up, "It's alright, as long as you enforce the law fairly and deal with offenders properly."
Such words made the older cop breathe a sigh of relief, swiftly promising the ladies would be satisfied. Quickly escorting the thief to the bureau, occasionally kicking him along the way.
Once he was far enough from Luo Chao and the others, the older cop slowed his pace, still quite shaken, giving the thief another hard kick, "Damn it, nearly got killed."
Then he noticed the younger cop beside him looking dazed, feeling frustrated, "Xiao Liu, what's on your mind?"
The young cop, referred to as Xiao Liu, seed to awaken, a joyous expression slowly surfacing on his face, stuttering.
"Th-That... girl was Xin Xing'Er, my Goddess!!" He said, excited beyond control.
