Su Jinyu saw the two hesitating, her face turned cold, and she raised her voice, shouting, "Hurry up! Can you handle it if sothing happens to the person later?!"
Of course, they couldn't handle it! The two subordinates exchanged glances and carried the person behind Luo Chao away.
Luo Chao felt lighter, much relieved, wiped his sweat, and said to Su Jinyu, "Miss, I'm really not a human trafficker. Is it necessary to be so fierce with your stare?"
Su Jinyu said coldly, "Less nonsense. Whether you're a trafficker or have other intentions, it'll beco clear when the person wakes up."
Luo Chao glanced at Su Jinyu. He could leave now, and the beautiful policewoman wouldn't be able to stop him. But he didn't want to create trouble for himself over these small matters, especially since this beautiful officer kept her gaze fixed on him, as if afraid he'd run away. Sighing, Luo Chao chuckled and said, "Alright, isn't cooperation between police and civilians encouraged these days? I'll cooperate."
"Consider yourself sensible!" Su Jinyu said, pulling Luo Chao toward the roadside.
"I say, Miss, where's your police car? Is the Celestial Dynasty really so tough now? Can't even afford a car for you? Or is your rank just too low?" Luo Chao saw Su Jinyu hail a cab and mocked her. He wasn't worried about Su Jinyu being a fake officer — he recognized the police uniform, but everything about Su Jinyu seed annoying to him; he wanted to embarrass her to feel better.
If this woman hadn't been yapping there earlier, he'd have already helped the girl get over the effects of the drug. Wouldn't have needed to send her to the hospital either.
"Shut up! Speak one more word, and I'll charge you with obstructing official duties!" Su Jinyu glared at him and pulled Luo Chao into the taxi, telling the driver, "To Linhai Police Station."
With Su Jinyu's yank, Luo Chao fell onto Su Jinyu's lap, thinking, Damn it, it's the first ti I've heard of talking being considered obstruction. Are you bullying because I'm ignorant? Do I look like soone who just takes the losses?
Luo Chao grumbled inwardly, rubbing against Su Jinyu's thigh a couple tis. Her scent wafted into his nose, quite pleasant.
Su Jinyu then realized Luo Chao was almost entirely leaning on her and blushed, reaching to push him away. But how could Luo Chao not sense her action?
Turning before she did, he was only wearing a white tank top since his jacket was on the girl earlier. As Su Jinyu pushed him, her hand slipped through his tank top's strap, landing on his muscular chest.
As her cool, silky hand touched his warm, firm muscles, she even felt a small bump sohow. Su Jinyu certainly knew what that was, but touching a stranger's chest was a first for her, let alone a trafficker's!
Su Jinyu's face turned even redder, her ears feeling hot with embarrassnt, completely forgetting to retract her hand.
Luo Chao had planned it all but showed a surprised face, grabbing her hand, loudly saying, "Officer, I know I'm a bit handso, but is that an excuse for abusing your power and molesting in the car?"
The taxi driver, a man in his forties, heard Luo Chao's words and glimpsed him in the rear-view mirror. Luo Chao looked modest and indeed good-looking, then when he glanced at Su Jinyu, his eyes showed surprise and a sense of disbelief.
"You! What nonsense are you talking? It was an accident. Let go of my hand!" Su Jinyu was both ashad and angry at Luo Chao's words and the driver's expression. She shoved him aside, pulled back her hand, and began wiping it with a tissue.
Just then, the taxi stopped at the Coastal City Police Station entrance. Su Jinyu paid the fare, dragged Luo Chao out, and glared at him, saying, "You'd better behave, and go inside for the record."
Before Luo Chao could speak, a group ca rushing out of the station, and upon seeing Su Jinyu, the team leader Gao Qingtian cheerfully said, "Welco, Captain Su, to our office!"
Su Jinyu saw she was being welcod, and hearing Gao Qingtian's words, blushing, she replied, "I'm not promoted yet, Brother Gao, please don't say that!"
"Look at you, haven't seen you in a year, and you've learned to be shy, Jinyu!" Gao Qingtian joked, making his colleagues laugh along.
Su Jinyu felt even more embarrassed. At this mont, Gao Qingtian noticed Luo Chao beside Su Jinyu, curiously asking, "And this is..."
"Oh, right, Brother Gao, this kid was skulking around the train station entrance, carrying a drugged girl. I brought him here for you to question," Su Jinyu rembered Luo Chao and saw him nonchalantly glance at the chatting officers, his expression unchanged, eyes brightly eting theirs.
Only when Su Jinyu ntioned him did he calmly say, "I'm not a trafficker, nor did I drug anyone. I'm just a good-hearted passerby."
Su Jinyu scoffed, glanced at the earnest-looking Luo Chao, and cursed in her heart; if he's kindhearted, then the world is too peaceful.
"Oh? And where's the person involved?" Gao Qingtian queried.
"My colleague took her to the hospital," Su Jinyu replied.
Luo Chao then said, "You can wait until the girl wakes and ask her about the situation, but I'm hungry now. Can I have sothing to eat?"
It was the first ti Gao Qingtian saw a kid about his daughter's age so unruffled in front of many officers and asking for food. Either he's genuinely innocent, or he's a seasoned veteran who's been in the station often.
"Follow us for the record first, then we'll get you food," Gao Qingtian said, and a subordinate stepped forward, telling Luo Chao, "Follow ."
During the record, Luo Chao automatically omitted the part where the person passed out, and, after so ti, soone brought food. After eating, he was told the person had awoken and cleared him, letting him leave.
Luo Chao scoffed. What's this? Randomly giving him a charge to bring him in, and when cleared, handing him a box al like charity before dismissal? Even if he ca down from the mountains, it wouldn't be like begging.
He then told the officer letting him go, "Officer, I was falsely accused. Where's the officer who brought ? She should apologize, right? She publicly called a trafficker; isn't that defamation?"
Luo Chao was young, now with an innocent and hurt expression, making the opposite officer feel awkward, standing there stunned.
This ssage was from Captain Gao Qingtian, urging him to convey it, seemingly aning Luo Chao wouldn't let Su Jinyu off easily. But what's it to him?
The officer looked at Luo Chao and said, "Kid, here's the truth: You can't afford to ss with that woman. Just leave."
Luo Chao sneered internally, "Can't ss with her? More like I don't want to ss with her." He'd let her off this ti. If he didn't hurry, he'd be late to et his client, sothing he never does.
But... Luo Chao checked his pocket, fifty yuan. Is that enough for Linjiang City?
