Luo Chao frowned. He initially didn't want to get involved with that girl, but when he saw her pleading gaze, he hesitated and unlocked the car door. The next second, the girl pulled open the door and jumped in.
The door hadn't even closed when a security guard grabbed the girl's arm. She scread, kicking and struggling to get free. Luo Chao slamd on the gas and fired a shot with his last bullet, grazing the girl's arm and hitting the man pulling her in the right chest.
The car surged forward, and the girl quickly shut the door, though her arm had been grazed by Luo Chao's bullet, and bright red blood trickled down her pale arm.
Luo Chao frowned again, acknowledging his mistake. Normally, he never missed his target, but the situation had been too tense just now. Without that shot, the girl would have surely been dragged out by the security guard.
"Sorry, that was my mistake," Luo Chao said to the girl, then added, "But I can't take you to the hospital right now."
After saying this, the girl took a few breaths but said nothing. She tore off a piece of her skirt, bit her lip, and quickly bandaged her wound.
The girl had just finished bandaging herself when the rear window shattered with a bullet, making Jiang Yuanyuan, who was crouched in the backseat, scream in fright.
Luo Chao had no ti to spare. He floored the gas, made a sharp turn onto the street, where a car approached head-on. The girl's face turned pale in the passenger seat. Luo Chao twisted the steering wheel, lightly released the gas pedal, and narrowly missed the oncoming car, just scraping against it due to the speed.
Unfazed, Luo Chao changed lanes and floored the gas pedal, realizing this car wasn't as powerful as what he was used to, but it would do for now.
"Are you okay?" Luo Chao glanced in the rearview mirror at Jiang Yuanyuan, who was covered in glass on the backseat. Shivering, Jiang Yuanyuan sat up, uninjured but speechless.
Seeing that Jiang Yuanyuan was unhard, Luo Chao instructed the two, "Buckle up."
The two girls quickly fastened their seatbelts, and only then did Luo Chao resu speeding forward, knowing he couldn't return to the villa. The only option was heading to the police station.
"Do you know the way to the police station?" Luo Chao intended to ask Jiang Yuanyuan but, seeing her pale face, understood she was too scared, so he turned to the girl in the passenger seat.
The girl nodded. Luo Chao continued, "Set the location in the navigation."
The girl tapped a few tis on the navigation system, setting the police station as their destination, but the problem was Luo Chao had taken the wrong route.
Damn it, Luo Chao realized he was getting farther from the police station. Seeing an upcoming bend for a U-turn, he knew he needed to change lanes, surrounded by cars in both directions. The girl beside him seed to read his thoughts and was about to speak when Luo Chao swerved, missing the car behind, and switched to the lane for the U-turn, turned sharply onto the ramp, quickly accelerating again.
Initially, there were two cars behind them, but they hadn't anticipated Luo Chao's daring maneuver, directly changing lanes recklessly. When they tried to follow his turn, one of them crashed into another car in the process.
Luo Chao glanced in the rearview mirror, saw no one following him, and sped towards the police station.
At this mont, Su Jinyu had just received news about the stadium riot. She liaised with her superiors, entrusted with the task as an opportunity for rit. Just as she was ready to deploy, a Cadillac, clearly marked with bullet grazes, rushed into the station.
The entire police force was on high alert, drawing guns aid at the Cadillac.
"Stay calm!" Su Jinyu ordered her subordinates as a girl stepped out of the car.
Seeing the girl, Su Jinyu was startled and imdiately rushed over, her subordinates unable to stop her.
"Sister!" The girl cried and threw herself into Su Jinyu's arms.
Luo Chao had just exited his car when he witnessed the scene, surprised to realize he had inadvertently saved a police officer's sister. Without overthinking it, he walked to the trunk, opened the door, and helped Jiang Yuanyuan out.
"Xiao Yan, what happened? Are you hurt?" Su Jinyu was tense, inspecting Su Yan from head to toe.
Su Yan shook her head, looked at Luo Chao behind her and said to Su Jinyu, "He saved . I was only accidentally grazed by a stray bullet."
Supporting Jiang Yuanyuan, Luo Chao looked up at Su Yan upon hearing this, but also noticed Su Jinyu beside her. He imdiately recognized Su Jinyu as the policewoman who had accused him of being a kidnapper at the train station.
Luo Chao flashed a smile at Su Jinyu, unsure if this was fate bringing them together again.
Su Jinyu glanced at Luo Chao, finding him familiar but unsure, then asked, "Haven't we t before?"
Beside Su Jinyu, Su Yan looked at Luo Chao upon hearing this. Luo Chao shrugged, smiled, and said, "Of course, beautiful sister once called a kidnapper. Can't believe you forgot so soon."
Su Jinyu recalled Luo Chao's words, rembering he was the guy at the train station. But last ti he was dressed scruffily, while today he looked quite distinguished, which was why she didn't recognize him at first.
Luo Chao didn't know Su Jinyu was thinking the clothes made by the old man for him looked scruffy. If the old man heard a beauty called his clothes scruffy, he'd surely be hopping mad.
"What happened to you guys?" Su Jinyu wasn't interested in reminiscing. Besides, there was nothing worth recalling with this guy, as trouble always seed to follow him.
Luo Chao looked at the injured Su Yan and the nearly faint Jiang Yuanyuan by his side, chuckling as he asked, "Can't we talk inside? I'm afraid the kidnappers might catch up, then we'll really be in trouble."
Su Jinyu raised her eyebrows and retorted, "What do you think this place is? You can't just waltz in whenever you feel like it!"
Besides, kidnappers?! This guy had no sense of decorum—or was he underestimating her?
Luo Chao noted Su Jinyu's slight anger but said nothing either way, then continued, "So, are we just going to stand here? Your sister's wound needs attention, and my lady is terrified."
Luo Chao didn't understand why things never went according to plan whenever Su Jinyu was involved. She was undeniably beautiful but also annoyingly verbose. Standing out here so long, if there were a sniper, they might all be gunned down at the station!
