"Luo Chao, how dare you take advantage of ! I'll fight you to the end!" Ning Wanxi struggled in his arms, but as a feverish patient, how much strength could she muster?
In a mont of impulse, Luo Chao wasn't sure how, but he ended up kissing Ning Wanxi's small mouth. He let out a bitter laugh, thinking to himself that it seed the agreent with Ning Wanxi would co to an end. He was the one who breached the contract, but fortunately he still had two million to pay the penalty.
Luo Chao didn't say much, continuing to hold Ning Wanxi tightly, and soon walked out of the study. Downstairs in the living room, Aunt Zhou was anxiously waiting. When she saw Luo carrying the young lady out, she looked as if she'd lost her soul, standing there dumbfounded. She rubbed her eyes vigorously and muttered, "Oh my, what did I just see!"
Since childhood, the young lady had disliked n other than her father. As she grew up, this dislike turned into aversion. Because of this, she often injured n who accidentally touched her, as well as many with ill intentions. The scene before her almost blinded Aunt Zhou. How did Luo manage this!
Ning Wanxi's parents were worried sick because of her illness, seeking out many renowned doctors, even going abroad to large hospitals, but none could cure her.
Luo Chao opened the door to Ning Wanxi's bedroom. As he stepped inside, a refreshing fragrance wafted in, and he placed her on the bed before finally releasing her.
"Don't think I'll let you off easily," Ning Wanxi said hatefully, ntally exhausted from the struggle just now. With her burning fever and foggy mind, she had no strength to tangle with Luo Chao further, but thinking about his kiss, she spoke with hatred.
"I'll bring down your fever first," Luo Chao touched her forehead, frowning slightly, "It's almost 40 degrees, you're really reckless!"
But at this mont, Luo Chao suddenly rembered sothing, a trace of fear flashed in his eyes, and he quickly withdrew his hand. Ning Wanxi knew exactly what he was thinking, both angry and amused: "Now you rember my illness? Hmph, you're dood!"
Luo Chao let out a dry laugh, "I was careless and forgot." Considering Ning Wanxi's aversion to n, maybe due to her illness she didn't resist too violently. If she were healthy, who knows if she'd grab a kitchen knife to murder him.
At this mont, Luo Chao felt a chill down his spine. He wasn't sure if she would fight him once she recovered her strength after the fever subsided. Luo Chao was practically slapping himself for forgetting this and daring to kiss her—what a way to court death!
Luo Chao was prepared to flee the scene at any mont, but considering the current situation, he decided to bring down her fever first. With a plan for the next step in mind, he took out a silver needle box from his pocket, heated a needle with a lighter and inserted it into her arm. He quickly followed with a few more needles at acupoints, achieving effects of clearing heat, and detoxification.
After a while, Ning Wanxi's face began to look more radiant as the fever gradually subsided. Luo Chao stood up, walked out the door, and said to Aunt Zhou, who was still in a daze, "Aunt Zhou, go make a bowl of brown sugar ginger soup for Ning."
Aunt Zhou shivered before coming to her senses, "Alright, I'll go right away," she said, rushing to the kitchen.
Luo Chao re-entered Ning Wanxi's bedroom. Now that Ning Wanxi was almost recovered, drinking a bowl of brown sugar ginger soup would help soothe her stomach, allowing for full recovery. Thus, Luo Chao dared not approach too closely, standing three ters away, he asked, "Should be feeling better, right?"
"You're not running?" Ning Wanxi answered indirectly.
"I'm prepared for it!"
"Hmph, you can run from the monk, but not the temple!"
Ning Wanxi spoke the truth; she was wealthy enough to track down Luo Chao even if he ran away.
With a snap, Luo Chao lit a cigarette, took a leisurely puff, and said slowly, "I know our agreent has to be canceled. I ssed up. I'll compensate you a million according to the terms. From now on, I'll disappear from your sight."
Ning Wanxi's heart trembled, biting her lip she said, "Who said I want you to leave!"
"Uh, so what do you want," Luo Chao almost dropped the cigarette from his hand out of fright, but after calming down, he said with a smile, "Ning, you wouldn't make take responsibility, would you!"
"Go to hell!" Ning Wanxi grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. Luo Chao caught the pillow with one hand, intending to say sothing, when he suddenly realized various stuffed dolls were underneath the pillow—Doraemon, Naughty Rabbit, Big Mouth Monkey.
These small and exquisite dolls had originally been hidden beneath the pillow, but when Ning Wanxi threw the pillow, they were all exposed beneath Luo Chao's gaze.
After being "shocked," Luo Chao's face turned red with embarrassnt, wanting to laugh but feeling too shy to do so. Instantly, Ning Wanxi's cheeks turned rosy with embarrassnt, like a fire burning, and she shouted loudly, "Luo Chao, get out!"
This ti, Luo Chao was smart enough to take Ning's cue and hurriedly left, his smile growing more pronounced, laughing as he thought, "Who would've guessed Ning Wanxi appears cold, but actually has the heart of a young girl."
At this mont, Luo Chao had returned to his room. Lying in bed, he was thinking about all that happened with Ning Wanxi tonight. He thought he'd have to pack up and leave, but it turned out Ning Wanxi had no intention of letting him go.
Luo Chao couldn't believe that kissing her would be the heaviest blow to her aversion to n. Perhaps she didn't want to let him off the hook so easily.
Only because Ning Wanxi was ill did this physical contact occur, Luo Chao thought, yet he didn't seem to sense any disgust or dislike from Ning Wanxi.
Could it be that he's the man who can save the Goddess from the Sea of Suffering? Luo Chao thought chaotically, then lightly slapped himself, pondering what nonsense he was thinking, as if such coincidences could exist in the world.
Besides, judging by his wife's killing intent, it must have been that her aversion to n turned into eerie killing intent! Luo Chao thought on and on until he fell asleep in bed.
To tell the truth, given what happened tonight, Luo Chao really should leave the Ning Family. But he liked his current life, and only if his relationship with Ning Wanxi completely broke would he leave.
In a serene and elegant café, a woman with stunning beauty sat in a booth near the glass window. Her starry eyes were as calm as autumn water, shining with radiant brilliance. Her face turned sideways was perfectly flawless like it was carved. Her cherry-like red lips were dazzlingly bright. Her beauty caused everyone in the café to steal glances now and then, yet she seed to purposely evade exposing her face, never showing it fully.
