In just one afternoon, because of Luo Chao's overbearing aura of returning to his hotown, many neighbors ca by to visit. They all heard that Luo Chao ca back with a luxury car and brought along a girlfriend who looks like a celebrity, which caused the entire village to explode with excitent.
Everyone who ca praised Luo Chao for his success and for finding such a beautiful wife. Even though Qin Yuzhen and Lu Feng tried to explain that the car was borrowed, everyone believed that Luo Chao must have beco wealthy, otherwise, how could he have borrowed a luxury car worth over a million?
"Luo Chao!" Just after sending off a few visiting aunties, a shout ca from outside the door. Luo Chao went out at the sound and saw a robust, broad-shouldered man standing at the entrance, excitedly calling out: "Luo Chao, do you still recognize !"
Looking at the familiar face, Luo Chao quickly rembered and said with a smile, "Lu Dayou, when did you co back!"
There weren't many playmates in his childhood. With Lu Dayou, a fellow villager, he got along the best. They often stole sweet potatoes from the fields and shot sparrows with slingshots in the woods. All these mories surged into Luo Chao's mind, filling him with emotions.
Lu Dayou had dropped out of school after junior high, went to the town to find work, and rarely returned to the village. anwhile, Luo Chao attended boarding schools in the town for both middle school and high school, so they had lost touch for many years.
"I just ca back yesterday," Lu Dayou ran up and hugged him, laughing heartily, "Today at noon, I heard from the villagers that you ca back with a luxury car!"
After saying that, Lu Dayou's eyes fell on the car, patting Luo Chao on the shoulder, "Range Rover, good boy, you've really struck it rich!"
Luo Chao gave a dry laugh twice, "Not at all, this car is borrowed. I'm far from striking it rich. What are you doing now?"
Lu Dayou chuckled, "I started by working at construction sites for a few years, saved a bit, and now I run a small shop in the town, living and eating there."
"That's not bad, you're your own boss now," Luo Chao said with a smile.
"Well, I can't compare with you, developing in the urban area," Lu Dayou clicked his tongue, "I heard you brought back a pretty wife, but you're moving too slow; my son is almost two years old."
Luo Chao was thunderstruck, knowing that this guy is a few months younger than him, yet he's already married and has a son almost two. He burst into laughter, "Dayou, it's not that I'm slow, it's just that you're too fast."
Lu Dayou said self-deprecatingly, "There's no choice, children from poor families have to grow up early."
"Dayou, co in and chat," at this mont, Qin Yuzhen ca out from the house and called loudly.
Lu Dayou smiled and waved his hand, "Auntie, no, I'll just chat with Luo Chao for a bit then leave, I've got sothing at ho to do."
At this mont, Ning Wanxi stepped out from behind Qin Yuzhen, curious about which friend was having such a hearty conversation with Luo Chao. Ning Wanxi's appearance left Lu Dayou stunned; my goodness, Luo Chao's wife is really gorgeous, as beautiful as a film star; and she's even bare-faced, naturally beautiful!
Lu Dayou couldn't help but give Luo Chao a light punch on the chest, laughing heartily, "Way to go, you found such a pretty wife," then he called out to Ning Wanxi, "Hey sis!"
"Hello," Ning Wanxi smiled with her lips pursed, even more charming than a peach blossom in March, which made Lu Dayou sigh inwardly; comparing people is just infuriating, you simply can't compare.
"What a pretty girl," a lewd voice suddenly ca through. Three villagers were approaching from not far away, all of whom had suggestive looks on their faces, particularly the leader whose eyes were practically on fire.
The leader, Luo Chao recognized, was the village bully, a scoundrel who never did anything decent and only knew how to scam and bully. Though he was only a few years older than Luo Chao, in childhood, he often bullied him.
Lu Cheng was nearly thirty and still unmarried, only knowing how to fool around outside. Hearing today that Luo Chao brought back a stunning girlfriend, he specially ca to take a look. Little did he know that the girl was truly breathtaking, like a fairy.
Lu Dayou gave a heavy snort, "Lu Cheng, keep your mouth clean!"
Lu Cheng sneered at him, "What, has the wound healed and you've forgotten the pain? Looks like the last lesson wasn't enough for you."
Lu Dayou's shoulders trembled, and he couldn't resist retreating a step. He rarely returned after opening a shop in town, partly because of Lu Cheng. A few years back, he was beaten up by Lu Cheng and his gang for confronting him after Lu Cheng harassed his girlfriend, ending up in the hospital. Cheng also declared that he would be beaten every ti he was seen, which left Lu Dayou quite intimidated.
"You were beaten by him?" Luo Chao asked.
Lu Dayou nodded, "Yeah, they ganged up on , almost beat to death."
Luo Chao frowned, "He still thinks he's the overlord of this place. Let teach him a lesson."
"Don't, I know you've been in the military and are tough, but his uncle is the captain of the police unit in town, we can't afford to ss with him," Lu Cheng hurriedly said.
Lu Dayou quickly grabbed Luo Chao's arm, preventing him from going over. He had suffered here before; having been beaten and reporting it to the police, only to be beaten again, the situation was very clear.
"Smart move!" Seeing Lu Dayou hold Luo Chao back, Lu Cheng gave a heavy snort and then walked lecherously towards Ning Wanxi. At this mont, Ning Wanxi's beautiful face turned icy. The sound drew out Qin Yuzhen and Lu Feng, who witnessed the scene and froze in place. Wow, this daughter-in-law's skills are really sothing.
"What are you just standing there for, get her!" Lu Cheng shouted, his mouth full of blood, enraged, and finally, his two subordinates ca to their senses and charged forward.
With two quick punches, both of them were soon on the ground. These thugs were only daunting in appearance; when facing a real expert, it was like an egg hitting a rock.
Lu Cheng spat heavily, spitting out blood, then drew a machete from his waist, "Damn it, I'm going to kill you today!"
