Xie Yong and Luo Chao were deep in conversation, forgetting Li Na was still beside them. Xie Yong paused for a mont, looking at the current Li Na. She now had a slim figure and a delicate appearance—truly a dramatic transformation. Her temperant had softened, with none of the forr arrogance. To say he had no feelings for Li Na would be a lie. Now, Li Na had beco prettier, and her previous attempt to protect him—how could Xie Yong not understand her intentions? His heart couldn't help but race with excitent as he said, "Alright, but I don't have much salary to offer you right now."
Li Na smiled sweetly, saying, "As long as you provide food and shelter, that's enough."
Today's Li Na had lost the aura of a wealthy young lady. All the family money was spent, and the company was gone. Her parents had started all over again from scratch, and she was currently job hunting without finding anything suitable. Seeing Xie Yong running a seafood shop alone, she thought of helping him out. "It's settled then," Xie Yong regained his motivation, believing the seafood shop's business would only improve. He would earn money with his own hands and build a family.
"When I get a chance, let fix the problem with your leg," Luo Chao glanced at his foot and suddenly said.
Xie Yong was stunned, hardly believing his ears: "Luo Chao, what did you just say?"
Luo Chao spoke loudly: "I said I would treat your illness and cure your leg ailnt."
Xie Yong excitedly hugged him: "Are you serious? Can it really be cured?"
Luo Chao chuckled: "When have I ever lied to you?"
"Exactly!" Xie Yong laughed heartily, tears coming to his eyes. His limp often made him feel a bit inferior; he didn't want others to view him through tinted glasses. He had visited many hospitals, and no doctor could provide treatnt. Now that Luo Chao said it could be cured, how could he not be happy?
Li Na looked at Luo Chao, genuinely curious why he was so capable and feeling fortunate that Xie Yong had such a powerful friend.
"Let's have dinner together tonight. My treat," Xie Yong said happily.
Luo Chao nodded: "Sure!"
"It's settled then," Xie Yong cast aside the earlier gloom, feeling great, and hurried to tidy up the shop, moving the water tanks inside. Luo Chao wanted to help, but Li Na rushed over to assist, helping Xie Yong clean up the ss caused by a recent scuffle. Thankfully, the seafood was unhard.
Seeing them working busily, Li Na seed much more sensible and well-behaved than before. Luo Chao felt very gratified, thinking that teaching Li Na and her family a lesson wasn't a bad idea, letting her realize that sotis money isn't as important as feelings.
anwhile, Luo Chao lay on a deck chair, waiting for Zhang Yufei to arrive, wondering about the purpose of the prestigious Director Zhang asking to et him; hopefully, it wasn't to call him to account.
"Luo Chao," a voice called, making Luo Chao turn to see the envious golden teeth and smirking face—it was none other than Ma Long.
Xie Yong saw him too but didn't greet him. People like him, who are only polite to benefits, are best ignored; it's better not to give people the impression of trying to curry favor.
Luo Chao sat up: "Boss Ma, what a coincidence."
Ma Long felt a bit embarrassed by this greeting but laughed awkwardly: "Luo Chao, don't call that; it feels awkward."
"Xie Yong, seeing our old classmate, shouldn't you say hello?" Luo Chao winked at Xie Yong.
Xie Yong certainly understood the implication. Ma Long, after all, owned several big restaurants. If they could establish a connection with him, and he started buying seafood from their shop, business would surely flourish.
"Ma Long, how co you have ti to visit here?" Luo Chao still showed so courtesy as Xie Yong spoke with a half-hearted smile.
"I opened a restaurant nearby, so I ca to look around, planning to find a seafood shop for procurent," Ma Long said.
Xie Yong nodded: "I see." Luo Chao, knowing this guy has put up with enough already, felt no need to fake a smile and cozy up further.
Ma Long said, "Xie Yong, is this shop yours? From now on, all the seafood for my restaurant will be sourced here. How does that sound?"
Li Na knew Xie Yong was holding back and smiled: "If that's true, it would be fantastic!"
"Of course, it's true," Ma Long casually glanced at Luo Chao, clearly wanting to establish good relations with Luo Chao through Xie Yong. "What I say goes. I'll start with an order of 100,000."
Ma Long took out a check and, with a few quick strokes, handed it to Li Na: "Xie Yong, is this your girlfriend? Not bad, quite pretty, and good at business. You've got a stroke of luck, young man."
"Thank you," Xie Yong finally smiled. An order of 100,000 was no small amount. Even though it was partly due to Luo Chao, earning money was always a joyous affair. Who would be at odds with money?
Li Na blushed at his words, while the implied relationship between her and Xie Yong brought a sweet feeling to her heart.
Ma Long chuckled: "I have so matters to attend to at the restaurant, so I'll be leaving."
Li Na said, "Boss Ma, let write you a receipt."
Ma Long waved his hand: "No need; our old classmate relationship speaks for itself. Tomorrow, I'll send soone to pick up the goods. Just make sure to keep the accounts clear." He then turned to Luo Chao: "Luo Chao, I'm heading out."
Luo Chao nodded: "Take care!"
Actually, Ma Long hadn't just arrived at the seafood market; he had been there for quite so ti. He witnessed the entire conflict between Luo Chao, the city managent officers, and the police, watching them get slapped in the face repeatedly then arrested by criminal police. It was fiercely impressive.
Ma Long knew that establishing a relationship with Luo Chao couldn't be achieved in a day or two, especially given the negative impression he left at the class reunion. Thinking about the foolish incident that night, Ma Long felt like kicking himself. So, he handed Xie Yong a 100,000 cash check, hoping to start nding his relationship with Luo Chao.
Li Na and Xie Yong continued to work in the shop, planning to break for dinner a bit later. Luo Chao basked lazily on a deck chair, looking very content.
"Tap tap tap," the sound of high heels clicked crisply on the granite-paved street, stirring Luo Chao awake. He opened his eyes to see Zhang Yufei approaching. Watching her dressed as the post-work Director Zhang, renders Luo Chao sowhat entranced.
Her top was a colorful t-shirt, paired with a tight denim mini skirt hugging her curves, making her long, slender legs look straight and smooth. Her chest was prominently raised, particularly her shapely **, making anyone widen their eyes and feel the urge to touch. This was an exceptionally alluring figure.
Luo Chao noticed her stylish attire, portraying a different persona: her delicate brows and almond-shaped eyes, an oval face wearing a sexy short skirt, fiery and dazzling, making him stare in awe.
