Among the group, there were Yan Bingxi and Luo Chao, plus the finance departnt's director was male. The rest were female, and President Ning always maintained a stern face, so the atmosphere was inevitably a bit heavy.
But Yan Bingxi couldn't care less. He wasn't going to pass up on a seafood feast. Today, he spent hundreds of bucks on gifts, so he had to make up for it by eating, much to Luo Chao's knowledge of his intentions. He almost wanted to stick a rooster crown on his head, what a real stingy miser.
At this point, among a table of foreign guests, one white-skinned individual was hollering loudly, not knowing what he was saying. The waiter ca over and stood perplexed as the foreigner chattered away without understanding a single word. This foreigner understood Chinese but couldn't speak it, which was incredibly frustrating.
"Can any of you tell what language that foreigner is speaking?" Lanya asked out of curiosity.
Everyone shook their heads, even the academic prodigy Ning Wanxi. Lanya couldn't help but say, "I think this restaurant ought to hire an interpreter who knows multiple languages to avoid such stress."
That foreigner, looking red with perplexed anger, threw down his chopsticks and was ready to lead his friends away when a voice suddenly chid in: "He's asking where the restroom is, he needs to use the toilet."
The speaker was none other than Luo Chao, causing the company directors, Lanya, and Yan Bingxi to gaze at him in surprise. True enough, the foreign friend nodded solemnly and even gave Luo Chao a thumbs-up, to which Luo Chao responded with a smile.
The waiter hurriedly escorted him to the restroom. Lanya asked, "Luo Chao, what language was that? You only graduated from high school. How did you understand it?"
Yan Bingxi snickered, "Seeing how anxious that foreigner was, it was apparent he needed the bathroom. Luo Chao must have guessed it."
Luo Chao, who was about to speak, rolled his eyes and chose not to bother explaining.
Everyone suddenly realized, and Ning Wanxi found it amusing. If it was a guess, why hadn't you guessed it earlier? How co now you're acting wise after the fact?
Ning Wanxi didn't speak on behalf of her husband but instead remained practical.
Using gestures for going to the bathroom was tricky; you can't just point at your crotch to indicate your need. So, it did require translation skills.
At this mont, the foreigner, having finished using the bathroom, returned and approached Luo Chao with a polite handshake. Luo Chao stood up, shook his hand, and the foreign friend rambled on in a language nobody understood.
To everyone's astonishnt, Luo Chao opened his mouth and spoke fluent Spanish: "It's nothing, just a small matter."
Upon reflection, everyone realized the foreigner had indeed been speaking Spanish, but his rapid pace mixed with a local accent made it hard to discern.
After Luo Chao and the Spaniard exchanged pleasantries, everyone stared at Luo Chao in shock. Who would've thought Luo Chao could speak Spanish? And he was only a high school graduate!
"Luo Chao, you speak Spanish?" Lanya exclaid in disbelief.
"Yeah, a bit," Luo Chao said, a bit smug at their astonishnt.
Yan Bingxi chuckled, "I think your Spanish might even be better than the Spaniard's."
"Really? I didn't think so," Luo Chao laughed heartily, feeling quite elated, while Ning Wanxi, still annoyed with him, wished she could smack him with her chopsticks, rembering those two sexy lace *** infuriatingly.
At this point, a waiter approached Luo Chao, apologizing, "Sir, do you understand what the guest at that table is saying? He seems to an stir-frying."
Everyone looked over to see another white man muttering and gesticulating frying motions. Seeing the waiter approach Luo Chao, the man ca over, saying in fairly fluent German, "Brother, I'm asking this waiter if they have seafood fried rice here."
Luo Chao nodded and replied in equally fluent German, "No problem!" and explained to the waiter. From then on, if any foreigner had an issue expressing themselves, they'd directly approach Luo Chao for help.
Whether it was Arican English, Thai, or French, Luo Chao solved them all, astonishing everyone. Damn, is this guy a walking dictionary? Does he have to be this impressive?
Everyone was dumbstruck, even the usually composed Ning Wanxi was shocked. Who knew her husband understood several languages and seed unstoppable? Truly impressive.
As leaders of the company's departnts, the directors were dumbfounded. Initially, they looked down on Luo Chao, this re high school graduate employee. But now, compared to him, they felt humbled. How did he learn so many languages!
Lanya's eyes sparkled, Luo Chao was indeed amazing. It's as if there's nothing in this world he can't do. As a man, he was honestly dazzling.
"Why are you all staring at like that? Is there a flower on my face?" Luo Chao teased, touching his face.
The marketing departnt director laughed heartily, "Luo Chao, you've truly opened my eyes tonight. I feel you should be part of our departnt, otherwise, being in logistics is such a waste of your talent."
"No way, he should join our finance departnt. We frequently deal with foreigners," the finance departnt director argued.
The R&D director added, "No way, Luo Chao should join our R&D departnt. We travel abroad often, and need a versatile translator."
Just as the advertising director was about to speak, all the other directors glared at him, "It's none of your advertising departnt's business, is it?"
"..." The advertising director protested, "I wasn't planning to compete for Luo Chao, I was just going to say, shouldn't you ask his opinion first?"
Yan Bingxi was stupefied, never expecting a forr security guard like Luo Chao to beco such a hot commodity that directors almost fought over him.
As the person in question, Luo Chao found it both funny and exasperating. However, as his direct superior, Lanya finally spoke up, frowning slightly, "If you're planning to poach soone, you should at least ask first. Luo Chao belongs to our departnt, and even if you ask, it's a waste of ti. I won't let him go."
Upon hearing Director Lan say that, all the departnt heads felt demoralized. She was the president's cousin, after all. How could they argue with her?
