On the following morning, at the base of Lingyin Mountain in the West Lake District of Jiangning City, Luo Chao was climbing up the steep mountain path step by step with Qin Yuzhen and Ning Wanxi.
There's a temple on Lingyin Mountain called Lingyin Temple. It's said that making a wish there is very effective, so Qin Yuzhen dragged Luo Chao and Ning Wanxi to make a wish at Lingyin Temple early in the morning.
Luo Chao couldn't resist complaining, "Mom, we could have driven up the mountain. I really don't get why you wanted to take this trail."

Little Wolf was almost six months old now and had grown to the size of an adult mongrel. Once fully grown, it would definitely be stronger than an adult male lion!
"Of all things, why bring a wolfhound to climb a mountain?" Qin Yuzhen mumbled, eyeing Little Wolf in front.
Luo Chao rolled his eyes, "Mom, didn't I tell you, it's a wolf, not a wolfhound!"
Qin Yuzhen didn't believe him and said, "If it were a wolf, it would have eaten you a long ti ago. You think your mom's a three-year-old?"
True, it's unlikely for a regular household to keep a wolf, and wolves are hard to ta. Usually, they are found in zoos or remote mountain forests due to their strong attack power and wild nature.
Luo Chao didn't bother explaining further since he couldn't get through to her.
Lingyin Temple attracted many people who ca to pray and seek blessings, so there were quite a few people on this rugged mountain path. At the mont, a young couple holding a Pitbull, known as the world's top aggressive dog, trailed behind Luo Chao. It's said that Pitbulls love causing trouble and are fiercely combative. Without nerve endings under their skin, once they bite, they never let go, and even after losing mobility, it's hard to get them off the bitten victim, so if a Pitbull shows intent to attack humans, it usually ends up being put down imdiately.
"Look at this. People are so amusing these days, bringing a mongrel to climb a mountain," a slim but heavily made-up woman laughed and said.
The man, pretending to be serious, replied, "How can you call it a mongrel? It's a Chinese Native Dog!"
"Pfft!" the woman giggled, shaking with laughter, causing people around to roll their eyes. Was it really that funny?
The woman said, "Why not let our Pitbull play with this Chinese dog? Last ti, it killed a shepherd dog, cost us a few thousand bucks in compensation. But this mongrel probably won't compensate us much."
"Young people today, really going backward," an out-of-place voice reached the couple's ears, causing the woman to snap angrily at Qin Yuzhen, "Who are you talking about?"
Qin Yuzhen replied coolly, "A dog is a life too. You intimidate people with your dog; isn't that going backward?"
"No one's asking your dog to get killed, why so worked up," the man frowned, saying.
Qin Yuzhen snorted, "You're right. That dog happens to be ours."
The woman paused, then laughed heartily, "So it's your dog after all. No wonder it's a match made in heaven."
Having spent decades in the countryside, even though Qin Yuzhen was quite beautiful in her youth, she had aged and carried a rural aura, causing the couple to look down on her.
"Wow, how much did your dog cost? It must be expensive," Luo Chao, who had caught up from behind, said with sparkling eyes.
The man imdiately boasted, "It cost us 20,000 dollars, air-shipped from the United States."

The woman raised her head proudly, "Of course! How about this, I'll give you 1,000 bucks, sell your Chinese dog. I'll let my Pitbull kill it for so fun."
"Right now?" Luo Chao asked.
Qin Yuzhen quickly tugged on Luo Chao's clothes, whispering, "Luo Chao, what are you doing? This dog is yours, yet you want it killed by soone else's dog? That's too cruel. Besides, we're here to worship Buddha; seeing blood is very inauspicious!"
Luo Chao winked at his mom, "Don't worry, I have a plan."
Qin Yuzhen was stunned, shaking her head with a mix of amusent and exasperation, leaving him to his antics.
"1,000 bucks?" Luo Chao sighed, "Well, the money's fine, but if my dog injures your Pitbull, what then? Won't I end up paying more?"
The woman snorted, "How about sothing more thrilling? Let's bet—if your dog injures my Pitbull, I'll give you 10,000 bucks. If not, you give 10,000. How about it?"
Luo Chao chuckled, "What if my dog beats your Pitbull?"
"Damn it, I'll give you 50,000!" said the man, pulling out five bundles of cash from the woman's bag and placing them on a stone.
Luo Chao smiled, "What a big spender, throwing around so much cash."
"Wanxi, co over a sec," Luo Chao shouted to Ning Wanxi, who was walking ahead.
Hearing this, Ning Wanxi stopped in her tracks. This guy had never called her like that before. Wondering what he was up to, she walked over in puzzlent, Little Wolf also trotting back to Luo Chao's side.
