"Hmm?" Ning Wanxi trembled slightly, only then snapping back to reality, and said, "Auntie, what do you need for?"
"You weren't listening, were you?" Qin Yuzhen said.
Ning Wanxi laughed awkwardly: "There's an interview this afternoon, I was just thinking about it and got distracted."
This afternoon, Tang Yun would lead the Rose Magazine team to conduct a personal interview with Ning Wanxi. It was almost 2 PM, and Ning Wanxi really needed to head back soon.
Although it wouldn't matter if Tang Yun waited a bit longer, Ning Wanxi had always been punctual with her affairs, and Luo Chao knew this very well.
"How old are you this year?" Qin Yuzhen asked.
Ning Wanxi replied, "26!"
Luo Chao knew this very well because President Ning had just celebrated her 26th birthday.
"Charlatan!" Qin Yuzhen angrily stood up and turned to leave, while Luo Chao laughed, "Mom, I'm just saying, you actually believe him?"
However, just as Luo Chao and the others were about to leave, the fortune-teller loudly said, "Is this gentleman's surna Lu, with the given na Xuan?"
Luo Chao imdiately halted his steps, and both Qin Yuzhen and Ning Wanxi stopped as well. How did this charlatan know Luo Chao's na?
Interesting! A smirk appeared at the corner of Luo Chao's mouth as he turned around and sat down opposite the fortune-teller. Just as Qin Yuzhen and Ning Wanxi were about to co over, the fortune-teller said again, "Ladies, may I speak with Mr. Lu in private for a mont?"
Qin Yuzhen and Ning Wanxi paused, and Luo Chao was even more intrigued by what kind of ga this charlatan was playing. He smiled and said, "Mom, why don't you wait for at the pavilion below? I'll have a quick chat with this fortune-teller and then co over."
"Be careful not to fall for his tricks," Qin Yuzhen advised, and then she and Ning Wanxi walked down over a hundred steps.
Luo Chao said, "Just get to the point, and speak quickly. How did you know my na?"
"How could I not know the fa of the Wolf King," the fortune-teller chuckled.
After Luo Chao's body trembled, a sharp killing intent burst from his eyes. The fortune-teller imdiately sensed it and broke into a cold sweat, nervously chuckling, "Wolf King, I bear you no ill will; I just have a few words I wish to say to you in private."
"Oh really," Luo Chao snorted coldly, "I hope so. Given that you know who I am, you should know that if you try any tricks, I'll kill you imdiately!"
The fortune-teller broke into another cold sweat, clearly deeply afraid of the Wolf King. Suddenly, he raised his hand and pulled up the bandage over his eyes, revealing a pair of shifty eyes.
Truly a big fraud! Pretending to be blind! Luo Chao was indignant, itching to grab and beat up this fake blind man.
To avoid being noticed by the surrounding crowd, the fortune-teller glanced at Luo Chao and then quickly pulled the bandage back down. He smiled and said, "Your Excellency, the Wolf King, let first introduce myself. I am Jin Xin, an agent of the Huaxia Country's Special Affairs Bureau. My visit truly bears no ill intent but rather aims to help you solve a problem."
Special Affairs Bureau? Luo Chao paused. Having been a mber of the Wolf Fang Special Forces before, how could he not have heard of the Special Affairs Bureau? Though only by hearsay, it was said that everyone in the Bureau was a top expert, including super experts from the Ancient Martial Realm. The Bureau specialized in handling national special situations and crises, such as when masters of the Ancient Martial Realm broke national laws or when foreign strongn ca to Huaxia Country to wreak havoc.
Thus, the Special Affairs Bureau was established entirely to handle those experts who posed a threat to the nation. Hence, the Bureau was undoubtedly an enormously powerful organization.
The Special Affairs Bureau was little known. Since this person claid to be from the Bureau, it probably wasn't false.
"What kind of trouble do I have that could alarm your Special Affairs Bureau," Luo Chao withdrew the suffocating killing intent, speaking with interest.
At this point, Jin Xin finally felt much relieved; being locked on by the Wolf King's aura felt like a trip to hell's gate, utterly uncomfortable.
"You might rember, not long ago, at the Jiangning City long-distance bus station, you injured a perpetrating driver," Jin Xin said seriously, "and he ended up paralyzed from the waist down because of you."
Luo Chao frowned, "I get what you an. You're saying the hospital found out his leg injuries weren't from the car accident but from a beating, and he's the son of Dong Nansheng, the Chief Justice of the Supre Court. So the Chief Justice pressured you to root out, isn't that so?"
Jin Xin nodded, "Back then, the video and photos of you saving that little girl and injuring the Chief Justice's son were posted online. Although our Special Affairs Bureau deleted them quickly, the Chief Justice noticed. He understood this matter couldn't be handled by the police, so he pressured us to identify the mysterious person who injured his son."
Luo Chao lit a cigarette, squinting slightly, "You're saying you ca not to arrest but to help solve this problem?"
"Of course," Jin Xin smiled, "with soone as powerful as you, how would I dare deceive you?"
"But I'm curious, why would your Special Affairs Bureau help soone like , just an ordinary citizen now?" Luo Chao spoke his mind; this was his most pressing question.
Jin Xin's throat worked as if the words in his mouth were hard to utter. Luo Chao frowned, "Just spit it out!"
Special Affairs Bureau's Jin Xin was startled and quickly said, "It was Miss Song who helped you, asking us at the Bureau to suppress this matter. However, due to the Chief Justice's pressure, I still had to co to Jiangning to make a show of it."
"Miss Song!" Bang! Luo Chao jumped up from the bench in excitent, knocking the bench over, and said with wide eyes, "Say it again, who?"
Poor Jin Xin was scared speechless, muttering, "It's—it's Miss Song!"
"Damn it!" Luo Chao angrily flung away the cigarette butt from his mouth, enraged, "Go back and tell her, I don't need her help. I have no desire to have anything to do with her for the rest of my life!"
"Luo Chao, calm down, calm down," Jin Xin said with a forced smile, "Back then, the matter between you and Miss Song really was a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding? Of course, I know it was a misunderstanding," Luo Chao clenched his fists, furious, "But that chick used the misunderstanding to strip of my military status and kick out, damn it!"
Jin Xin was scared witless, his face turning green, "Luo Chao, you can't curse Miss Song's uncle; it could cost you your head, be mindful of what you say!"
After speaking, Jin Xin quickly checked around. Luckily, although so curious individuals glanced their way, they were far enough that they likely hadn't heard anything.
