*SCREECH—!!!*

As the monster’s endless scream echoed through the air, Alen tightly covered his ears. Even though he knew how to use the Sound elent himself, that didn’t an he was immune to its painful effects.

"That f*cking bastard. Doesn’t he know how to fight quietly?"

Alen grumbled aloud.

"Is screaming really necessary when he already has such a massive body to intimidate with?"

Alen clutched his head, feeling an intense rage building up inside him from the disgusting, deafening noise.

He pressed his feet hard into the ground, not wanting to be thrown back by the sheer air pressure. Lowering his body slightly, he took a battle stance with his sword.

[Nexus Elental Art: Wind Type - Wind Slash!]

As Alen swung his sword horizontally, several gusts of wind magic slashed forward, hurtling toward the giant Leviathan at incredible speed.

The screaming monster didn’t have ti to react before the attack landed perfectly on its body.

*BOOOM!*

The waves of wind pushed the surrounding dust away, creating a small crater in the ground from the impact.

As the dust slowly cleared, Alen stood holding his sword, waiting to see the damage.

The monster lood a few ters away. Its massive body was perfectly fine, bearing only a few minor scratches. Alen stared at the beast with a shocked expression. He couldn’t believe a direct hit hadn’t hurt it more.

The monster, annoyed by the minor scratches from the attack, glared down at Alen. Its giant eyes were bloodshot as it slithered rapidly across the ground toward him.

Alen didn’t show a hint of fear, even though his first attack had completely failed. At the very least, he now understood just how much more powerful this monster was and what kind of attacks he needed to avoid.

He stomped his foot on the ground. The wind magic around him began to actively flow.

[Phantom Step!]

With a burst of speed enhanced by his wind magic, Alen appeared directly in front of the monster in a matter of milliseconds.

[Nexus Elental Art: Rotation Type - Wind Wheel!]

He pressed the tip of his sword directly into the monster’s thick hide. As the sharp tal made contact, the wind magic concentrated at the tip began to spin rapidly like a grinding wheel, forcing the blade to slice deeper into the flesh.

*SCREECH!*

The monster howled in pain. It pivoted its massive body, twisting aggressively toward Alen. Still holding his sword in the wound, Alen suddenly felt a large shadow fall over him; the beast was trying to roll over and crush him with its sheer weight.

He didn’t wait a second longer.

[Phantom Step!]

He quickly dashed a safe distance away just as the monster’s heavy body slamd into the exact spot where he had been standing a second ago.

"Haah... Haah... Damn, how big is this thing? It could kill just by rolling over," Alen panted.

"I have to do sothing, or I will lose all my strength at this rate."

The Leviathan thrashed around, searching the wasteland for Alen. It didn’t take long for its giant eyes to lock onto him again.

It slithered across the ground, charging straight at him. A massive amount of mana gathered in front of its gaping mouth, preparing to launch a large-scale breath attack.

Alen didn’t wait for the blast.

He moved rapidly, his figure blurring as he sprinted in a jagged, zigzag pattern to confuse the beast’s aim. He imbued a large amount of mana into his legs, gathering a concentrated vortex of wind around his feet.

*BOOOM!*

Using the explosive burst of wind, Alen launched himself high into the sky, rocketing straight toward the monster’s head. He gripped his sword tightly in mid-air.

[Nexus Elental Art: Dark Type - Phantom Thrust!]

Dark energy imdiately coated his blade. As the ominous aura emitted from the sword, the monster flinched slightly. Alen didn’t hesitate. He fell right above its massive mouth and thrust his sword violently into the monster’s flesh.

ROARRRR!

The monster scread at the top of its lungs, shaking its massive body wildly to throw Alen off its head.

But Alen didn’t plan on being done with his attack just yet.

[Nexus Elental Art: Dark Type - Wave of Darkness!]

A shockwave of pure darkness erupted directly from the tip of his embedded sword. The dark magic flooded into the Leviathan’s body, ripping and blasting its internal organs apart from the inside.

The screaming monster beca even more desperate. It violently rolled its giant body over, trying to crush Alen against the ground.

Unable to balance himself on the thrashing beast, Alen’s hands slipped from the hilt of his sword. He plumted toward the earth. Channeling wind magic into his legs, he negated his falling speed just enough to land safely on the red sand.

"Ugh! My legs feel like they are going to burst. I’m already tired. It seems long, drawn-out battles really aren’t suited for ," Alen groaned, catching his breath.

’What should I do now?’ he thought.

’It seems the monster isn’t finished, even after taking that direct hit... Sigh. It seems I am never going to face a monster at my own rank. I always have to be completely overwheld by the enemy in these fights...’

’When will the ti co when I can just sit around and watch the monsters fall down automatically? Will that day ever co?’

As Alen stood there casually daydreaming about his future power, the Leviathan’s bloodshot eyes locked straight back onto him. Alen felt a terrifying chill run down his spine.

The mont stretched—but the monster did not.

Before Alen could even shift his stance, the creature surged with intent, drawing in a violent torrent of mana. The air before it twisted unnaturally, bending and warping as if reality itself recoiled. A low hum began to rise—deep, oppressive—until it sharpened into a piercing vibration that clawed at the ears.

Then, it released.

A sonic boom tore through the space between them.

The ground cracked beneath its path, dust and debris exploding outward as the compressed wave of sound surged forward like an invisible tidal force. The very atmosphere rippled, distorting everything in its wake as it scread toward Alen with unstoppable force.

He didn’t have his sword to attack anymore. How was he going to defeat a monster that was now twice as angry as before?
